Silver Mount Collection Map | Beacon Below Map

In the capital city of Osirion, Sothis, Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir rubs sleep from his eyes as faint pre-dawn light filters into his office. He shutters the window as a thrush begins singing loudly in the garden below before gesturing for everyone to have a seat.

Opening thread for dotting and introductions. I'll post the rest tomorrow(ish)!

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 7-11.

Thousands of years ago, a defeated order of Osirian sages sought refuge in the perilous Pillars of the Sun in central Osirian. Until recently they were presumed lost, but recent exploration has uncovered the fortress sanctum they left behind. When the PCs delve into one of its sealed halls, they find the sages’ millennia-old projects dormant but not dead.

Content in “Beacon Below” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Dark Archive and Scarab Sages factions.

The falls of change are upon us and the lands prepare for a wintry slumber. It is now that the Pathfinders must search far across Golarion for artifacts and mysteries both forgotten and unfound during the months of Neth, Kuthona, and Abadius. Will you answer the call?

PbP GameDay 3 Game List

Stuffs to Know:
I do put time limits on combat rounds (usually 2-3 days to get everyone's actions in), and if someone goes a week without posting and I don't have advance knowledge that they might be away, they'll likely be dropped from the table. That being said, though, the quicker everyone posts, the sooner the scenario finishes. I like to finish up scenario's in a month on PbP, but have had them last up to 3 months. A post a day for this coming GameDay will be great, but with the holidays, I'm not really expecting it.

Initiative! Same ol', same ol'. Initiative will be done in blocks. I will roll everyone's initiative, and average the critters' initiative into a single roll. The first round, whoever beats the critters will act before they do. Then the critters will act. Then it's a back and forth between party and critters.

PFS #'s! Please have your PFS# posted in your profile when submitting. I know most do, but... I like to get chronicle sheets out as soon as possible after the scenario is finished, and having them pre-filled hastens that. Of course, things can go wrong during the scenario, and that means delays, but usually it really, really helps!

Character sheets! Again, please, for the love of all that is holy, have a copy of your character sheet in your profile, or a link to it...

Quick reference stats! Please... Help me... Please have your quick references in your Race, Classes/Level, and/or Gender section of your profile, or however you like to put it. It really helps me so I don't have to keep opening up new tabs just to find out what your fortitude save was.

So, if there's any questions or comments, please, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Recruitment will stay open until the GameDay starts. This is to compensate for folks who may or may not sign up and then drop out, or forget, or change characters, or whatever. I will try to maintain a list of the primaries and alternates up to the day we start, but promise nothing!

I'm kind of curious on this one because of the tier. I'm genuinely wondering if there's going to be enough interest in the PbP community in this tier range that isn't already tied up in private games. We'll see!

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5-9.

When the Pathfinder Society acquires a copy of A Thread of Silver, a written survey of some of Numeria's most closely guarded sites, the Technic League dispatches its own agents to the Pathfinder lodge in Nantambu to recover the text and make an example of those who would investigate Numeria's otherworldly secrets. Can the PCs prevent the League from stealing this valuable tome and destroying the Society's foothold in the Mwangi Expanse? For levels 5-9.

You've been called forth to Absalom's Grand Lodge, not for high adventure, but to settle accumulated paperwork with local venture captain Drangle Dreng.

"It is truly a pleasure to be back." Venture Captain Drandle Dreng takes a seat at the head of the table and leafs through the papers set before him. "Some of you might have worked with me before my... furlough. And I look forward to reminiscing, but first it seems we need to spend the next few hours tidying up the paperwork you've accumulated over the course of your adventures."

It sounds like an exciting time awaits our Pathfinders.

Play will begin either Saturday or when everyone checks in with their factions posted in the discussion page, whichever comes first. For now, you can dot or roleplay with each other as you see fit. Looking forward to this!

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3-7.

The esteemed Blakros family—famous for their museum in Absalom—receives a large shipment of artifacts from Numeria but fears that the ever-vigilant Technic League will attack to reclaim its "stolen" property. When they request the help of Pathfinders to help guard the collection, the PCs discover that the Technic League is the least of their worries.

Hi, guys!

Looking for one to three more to join us for the third and final part of the Quest for Perfection trilogy. Over the last couple of months we've had three characters drop out for various, and sometimes unexplained, reasons.

The guys are hoping for a divine and an arcane type, preferably keeping the group in the 1-2 subtier. Presently we have a level 2 fighter, level 2 bard, and level 1 ranger.

Posting every day is nice, but not necessary. I put a couple of days limit on most combat rounds just to make sure everyone has time to post their actions. If actions are not posted by the deadline (which I usually miss anyways), you lose your turn for that round.

Initiative works where I roll everyone's initiative, place all the PC's and critters into groups, and then each group acts on it's initiative, actions occurring on a first post first act basis, unless a post specifically states that they're waiting until something specific happens before they act. After the first group and then the critters go, it then becomes a party then critters based turn order.

Thanks, guys!

OOC discussion for part 3.

Silver Mount Collection Map | Beacon Below Map

Winning the Hao Jin Tapestry at the Ruby Phoenix Tournament was supposed to grant the Pathfinder Society exclusive access to a museum demiplane where the Tian sorceress Hao Jin stored her most valuable and dangerous acquisitions. At first, the Pathfinder Society believed that the five-by-seven foot tapestry was the only entrance into a demiplane filled with countless ruins drawn from numerous cultures and regions of the world that would be theirs alone to explore. But they soon discovered evidence to the contrary.

The Decemvirate knows now that Aspis Consortium agents have found or forced their way into the allegedly secure demiplane, and they know where the interlopers’ base is. A tribe of lizardfolk native to the plane—called the Muckmouth tribe—are being coerced into serving as guides, porters, and laborers in the Aspis’s plundering, not for any love of Consortium, but because the Consortium is holding a generation of the tribe’s eggs hostage.

The Decemvirate is not interested in sharing its new prize with the Aspis Consortium, and wishes to drive it out and discover how the organization gained access to Hao Jin’s demiplane. The only lead so far is the Aspis base in the lizardfolk tribe’s ancestral breeding grounds within a cave called the Muckmouth, from which the tribe derives its name. Were agents able to infiltrate the caves and dispatch the Aspis agents there, perhaps the lizardfolk would even provide assistance to the Society in its efforts to explore the new realm. Regardless of this possibility, the primary goal is investigating how the Aspis Consortium gained access to the demiplane and determining the extent of their operations here.

Previously obtained details provide a trail through the wide, unmapped marshland from the Society’s point of entry into the demiplane to the Muckmouth, which now lies two hundred yards to the north—a twenty-foot wide cave mired with mud and swamp water. Inside are the Muckmouth tribe’s eggs and the Aspis agents holding them hostage—the only lead to a greater plot from the Society’s greatest rival.

None other than the Master of Spells himself, Aram Zey, has summoned you deep beneath the Pathfinder Society's headquarters in Absalom's Grand Lodge, an otherwise austere stone chamber that now teems with activity, as Pathfinder scholar's scamper across several levels of wooden scaffolding surrounding a large tapestry laid out in the center of the floor. Some examine the five-by-seven foot tapestry with magnifying glasses or magical lenses, while others work diligently at small work desks, consulting ancient tomes and performing complex arcane mathematics.

The Master of Spells has yet to arrive, however.

Opening up the gameplay thread for dotting and introducing your characters. Gameplay itself will not start until 5 April.

Lantern Lodge Venture-Captain Amara Li sets her office up (located in her homeland of Goka) for the arrival of the Pathfinders she has summoned. After preparations have been made, she sits at her desk and waits for their arrival, quietly reading over an ancient tome sitting atop leaflets advertising an upcoming tournament.

You may post here to introduce your characters and to dot for future ease. We will not begin actual play until 5 April, though. Thanks!

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 1–5.

In the distant land of Tian Xia, the Pathfinder Society's Lantern Lodge sends a team of agents high into the mountains of the Wall of Heaven to an abandoned Iroran monastery in search of a powerful relic to assist them in ensure victory in the upcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament. Though the monastery has long laid unused by the faithful of the Master of Masters, it is not completely devoid of danger, and the PCs soon discover that merely retrieving the ancient artifact is but the beginning of a much larger quest.

The Edge of Heaven is the first scenario in the three-part The Quest for Perfection campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-11: The Quest for Perfection—Part II: On Hostile Waters and Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-13: The Quest for Perfection—Part III: Defenders of Nesting Swallow. All three chapters are intended to be played in order.

PbP Gameday 2::
As the ice of winter breaks – the god of Storm and Wave, Gozreh, beckons to Golarion, drawing nature from its wintry slumber into Firstbloom. Then yields to the Lady of Luck and Travel as the erupting Monarchs of Desna tug at the hearts of men to leave their homes behind and explore the world of Golarion once again, warmed in their journeys by the Lady of Light and Fire as Sarenrae ushers in the first days of summer.

It will be in these months – the months of Gozran, Desnus, and Sarenith – that the Pathfinders of Golarion will once again scour the corners of the world for mysteries untold and treasures unfound.

Will you answer the call?

Join us April 5th, 2014 through July 5th 2014 for Play-by-Post Game Day 2: A Hymn of Wind and Flame

About me::

This is my first PbP as a GM. I played a handful the last PbP Game Day, but if anyone has any ideas on how I can improve, I welcome them!
I expect players to post at least once every day. I am a full-time student, myself, so will likely be able to post multiple times each day, finals permitting. Looking forward to this!

To sign up, please reply with a PFS legal character. Thanks!

PS - I do plan on finishing the series if we have the time. Even if we do run over the time frame of the Gameday, I will finish out the scenarios if we do not finish up on time.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 5–9.

On an isolated demiplane, the Pathfinders explore an Osirian ruin transported from Golarion by a powerful sorcerer centuries ago. And though the Pathfinder Society believes the fruits of their delve to be ripe for the picking, the unnatural landscape surrounding the tomb and a run-in with an unexpected guest make getting out with the treasure a tough task for the PCs.

"The Dog Pharaoh's Tomb" is the first scenario in the two-part Wonders in the Weave campaign arc. The story concludes in Pathfinder Society Scenario #3–14: Wonders in the Weave—Part II: Snakes in the Fold. Both chapters are intended to be played in order

Don't know if this has been asked and answered, but I can't find anything. I was wondering what's going to happen between the play-test ends (17 Dec) and the release of the official ACG in (expected) August 2014? Gonna kind of ramble at this point, since I don't necessarily know how to ask this as succinctly as I'd like to, so let's get started!

This doesn't necessarily affect only PFS play, but in PFS play, you need the source material on hand to be able to play. The official ACG isn't supposed to come out until August of 2014 (unless I missed something). Play-testing ends 17 Dec 2013 (also, unless I missed something). So, between those two time frames, what happens to the new characters we made? Can we continue to play them using the play-test class guidebook, which doesn't make sense because wouldn't the guidebook be invalid once play-test ends? Or do we wait until August(ish), which kind of sucks, but makes some kind of sense as that will be the official version of all the classes, which will likely be wildly different to what we have now?

Also, if we do have to wait until the official release of the guidebook, what happens with the characters we have now? I understand the rebuild rules in place right now, but would they (the characters we have now) be put into stasis until August, waiting to be rebuilt? Or would they immediately be eligible for rebuilds once the play-test is over into the present core and base playable classes.

Hope this makes some kind of sense.

This will be my first time gm'ing on Fantasy Ground, so anyone with more experience with it will be very welcome to share any tips and advice they have! You will need to download the free version of FG, but can play with any license (I have an ultimate license).

Due to the nature of the VTT, I will need either an .xml (easiest for me), a .hlfg (middle ground for me), or a .pdf (hardest for me) of your character to put in the game table. Instructions on the various methods to send me your character can be found here. The thread for discussion and sign ups on the Fantasy Grounds site can be found here, and the Fantasy Grounds calendar can be found here. Thanks, guys!
