I just did a night run from 6.20pm to 4 am ish. Total distance covered -73.3km. Yes, it's ultra marathon territory.

The Exchange

Gym will be closing from 8th may to 30th may due to increase in covid-19 cases here.

The Exchange

They're healthy but you'd want to watch calories on them as they're rather high in fat.

The Exchange

Actually guacamole is pretty healthy but I guess you should watch how much ground beef you add into it, as well as how much cheese. I admit my bias against avocados because I don't like them.

The Exchange

Doesn't work that way. Fruitcake you use sugared fruit/dried fruit, and still it's mostly flour and butter and sugar for batter, and the flour, sugar and batter aren't good for you. It's like I've chosen to take the red pill, so I see the world as it is, without the illusions of the food industry trying to sugar-coat how junk food is perfectly fine. It isn't.

P.S Skip the cake part of the fruitcake and just eat the fruit directly.

The Exchange

Cake is like so many empty calories >< And now I go around criticizing what people eat. I could see cake as running fuel but you'd need to make sure they don't have cream on it otherwise it'd just make you sluggish. And you'd be picking crumbs after 10k.

Cookies are better for running.

The Exchange

I would mix 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder into milk if I wanted my chocolate fix. That saying, I don't need to add sugar to that. A bit of cinnamon powder is all I need.

70 percent for dark chocolate is right for me too. Most outside desserts are too sweet for me these days.

The Exchange

No! Sugar belongs to the dark side!

The Exchange

After a hard run of 25km we're back to being productive on Gamin again. However my pull up game hasn't been too good and I haven't seen my bonus chin up this week. I think my goals are to get more sleep and try to be kinder to myself.

When I was at the mall yesterday I had a "could I just be normal for a day, eat waffles, pancakes and ice creams?
Then just eat outside food anything I want, whenever I want and don't bother about meal prep and whether I'm behind schedule?"
moment.

The Exchange

Mmm looking at my gamin forerunner 245,it seems I need to up my exercise game if I'm to progress, but I'm not sure how. More weights? I want to run 66km come June but I'm not sure if I'm capable of it.

The Exchange

<--ish kitty rug. This is a half trail, half road hybrid ultra so the total elevation was around 500-600m ish and of course my knees are killing me today.

Running and strength training are a bit of an odd mix,as in strength training helps you be less injury prone for running, but running affects your gainz. Buckets were bloody heavy today.

The Exchange

Mew? I just ran 44.44km. Half trail half road hybrid ultra. Took me from 5.15am to 11.45am to complete including water stop, potty break, tailwind stop etc =P

I am now a flat kitty =)

The Exchange

I am curious about the effects of Olympic lifts but I was told by the people at the meet my traps would get bigger. I've always felt I was a little bottom heavy(its expectable - what do you expect from kitties who run half marathons and further distances for sh*ts and giggles)

I am also curious if it's possible to train them without doing the actual motion as my gym won't allow it as it's too congested.

My current project is to continue gaining strength despite on a weekday 500 cal deficit. Or when I can make that 500 cal deficit. Haven't been very compliant. I wonder how much strength I can pack on relatively low body weight, I.e str to weight ratio.

The Exchange

That being said I ran to my uncles weightlifting meet last Saturday and got to mess around with some Olympic bars and an actual weight lifting platform. I tried to do the Olympic lifts - snatch and clean and jerk.

I can do the clean and jerk with the bar, but snatch is eh... I don't have the shoulder mobility to swing the bar to the back and have to sort of just substitute an overhead press, which I know is bad mechanics.

Again, had I not been practicing overhead press and front squat, I doubt I would even be able to do an approximation of the two lifts.

Some 60kg guy managed to clean and jerk 112 kg. Wtf lol.

Throw 'em out. Even if they do stay somehow, they sound like the type to cause trouble anyways.
I was close to throwing them out but It is entirely possible knowing our staff that one of them messed up their reservation. They had 2 rooms one was checked in for the right date the other was for tomorrow which was the problem. I basically just changed the room from a single king to a 2 queen and put them both in that one. They did shut up when I asked them too so if they damage anything we have their card number. It seems fair enough to me. otherwise they will have to drive like 3 hours to find another hotel.

It's good you're big sized. Gives you bonus to intimidate checks.

Googled it. It doesn't actually look to bad. salted egg yolks cooked with butter curry leaves chili peppers and finally mixed with cornflakes. it might be pretty tasty.

It is tasty. Sorry to hear about burrito. But wait, I'm a cat!

The Exchange

I failed a will save against salted egg cornflakes and ate some yesterday =( I'm a s*cker for salted egg products.

My brother said he was exhausted the whole weekend. I am sturdy so not too worried I'm basically Bruce Willus from Unbreakable.

If it helps I ran 30k the day after the first jab and I spent the day of the 2nd jab climbing like a krazy loon and the day after running and doing an obstacle course...again I'm not exactly subject to mortal limitations these days.

The Exchange

I've taken mine, both shots. Nothing but a sore paw on both times though I've heard of people getting fatigued or even getting a fever or diarrhoea and most side effects occur after the 2nd jab. My office comp also blocks paizo so I'm like permanently stuck on phone now.

Just popping up to meow. Yeah I know I haven't been around much but I've been busy doing the sub 1h 10k and the 1.5 mile run in <12 min.

Fun part about both is they were done back to back. One on Friday night (55:26 for 10k with pacer help), the other on Sunday.

the wife has been talking about getting this switch fit game "Ring fit" Apparently its a exercise RPG. Which sounds just like the kind of motivation I need.

Ringfit is quite fun, my issue is I can squat like a boss so I ramped up difficulty to like level 27,but the moment I have to overhead press I'm so screwed. Also you can't lower difficulty for individual skills - and there's the tendency to cheat later by removing the skills you're weak in and also substituting for easier skills to use. Like I can do warrior pose a lot easier then doing a whole bunch of knee to abdomen. And the result is clearing an entire world with the heartrate monitor still showing as very light exercise.

It's the ice water for blood thing. Ringfit makes you run to move in the world and asking me to run is to ask water to run downhill. I can run for hours, and the moment I do any light exercise, I recover superfast(at least the cardio part).

The Exchange

Contacts executive. I start work at 8.45am,but I have to leave the house at 7am to get to the station to catch the Company bus. And I know I don't have much time to exercise so I really, really need to watch what I eat. I don't even clock 10k steps on a regular day.

The Exchange

I'm trying to juggle 3h of commute (both ways together), sleep, bringing my own food to work and exercise at the same time. Because my new work place is really in the middle of nowhere and food choices are limited. I'm actually happier bringing my own food anyway since I can cut on calories that way. Everyday it's about 400g cauliflower, 300g brocolli and 200g of chicken breast for lunch and dinner.

I has a new job and will start work on Monday.

The Exchange

I made bean soup with the beans and baked the tau kwa, then fried some onion and used the canned tomatoes as sauce. Had to add some salt and honey though.

Complain about the new boards here!

Try going for a walk if weather permits. That helps relief stress as well. I just did 35km at a 6 min 51s pace.

The Exchange

Complain about the new boards here!

I'd pick delicious and healthy because I'd eventually want to learn how to make those. But anyway even if you go for keto cookies, it's still a boatload of calories. Which I also don't want to do even if I could possibly burn it off.. Cos running my @ss off?

My taste buds want cookies. My bathroom scale advises against it

Yeah that's why I said cookies are bad for you. Now if people could make non fattening cookies that still tasted good...

Anyway one way around it would be to use artifical sweeteners like stevia instead of sugar, but even using almond flour - it's still very calorific, not to mention butter. Or whatever oil you add in.

The Exchange

Hmm my in laws no like tomato beans. Dunno what else I'm going to do with the other can of beans and tomato

I know all about that Stocky life. Should of went into football... well except I hate football.

Go for powerlifting meets. That and you can also try sprinting, rowing. But sprinting you gotta be careful if you're heavy. It gave my racewalking uncle issues.

The Exchange

297km of distance covered on a trail over 20 days? That singlet is a bit tight on me anyway since I am...a bit stockier then your average runner.

The Exchange

Sorry this work?

I clicked off your request by mistake as I was trying to get the OTP for some govt website. Could you try again?

The Exchange

Haven't changed that much

Also my Google drive is getting full so I haven't been uploading much stuff.

The Exchange

20 days of reservoir loops later... - did you see any kitties?

The Exchange

Still on holiday mood and haven't been very diligent in job searching. I've been messing around the kitchen more, like coming up with salted egg chicken and stir fried pork with curry leaves.

And going to the gym (oof my quads, glutes and shoulders ache), as well as messing around with Pavel's simple and sinister workout. I think it was the stuff that preserved the better part of my overhead press when I went to the gym yesterday though. Could almost do up to my usual performance save for the last set, last rep. Unfortunately my front squat and bench press still sucked :(

Paralegal jobs, though I was even thinking of signing up as a cop if I couldn't find anything else to apply for - since I should be able to pass the physical requirements quite handily. Problem is I need to go for a 9 month residential program where I can only book out on weekends and will need to learn the use of firearms.

I feel a little lost now that I don't have a purpose(like running around the reservoir).

The Exchange

And kitty has no job =( Because kitty was too busy running lol. But it was the most memorable year end I've ever had, doing an ultra lol=)

The Exchange

I don't like being close to fireworks but I can admire them from afar? Anyway the problem with the ultra was that about at the halfway mark I had a sore right paw - so I couldn't run it - but still wanted to do loops around the reservoir to add to the countries tally. So I was stuck with walking the loops taking half an hour more as opposed to running after my paw recovered somewhat. And I could no longer cycle there so the commute to the reservoir took like 1.5h each way instead of 1h each way so basically I'd be adding 1.5h to my reservoir time so yeah it kinda ate into everything else, including forum posting.

The ultra was from 12 Dec to 31 Dec.

The Exchange

Happy new year everyone if a bit belated. I was on my paws literally from dawn to dusk yesterday. I power walked 3 loops of the reservoir then ran 1, had lunch, then ran partially(walk only on uphill sections) the remaining two loops, pretty much covering 67km in about 12 h 10 min or so - meals and breaks included.

The Exchange

The rain turns the trail to muck.
If you want to run in muddy puddles you're trying your luck.
You can't see what lies beneath at all.
Chances are you'd twist your ankle on a rock and fall.

True story, happened to someone doing 5 loops/day.

The Exchange

Thanks, another loop has been done.
I initially wanted to do one more, but the rain had come.
Also I had to go back to cook.
Or someone might give me the boot.

The limitation (at least for two loops) seems to be time.
I can't schedule the biking and running before the dinner bell chimes.

My ultramarathon has begun.
In 4 days, 6 loops of the reservoir I have run.
Two half marathons back to back,
No I don't cut myself any slack.

So far a single loop per day
Of 11.4 kilometers yay!
Doesn't seem to tax me at all,
Despite me biking 5km to the start hall.

The Exchange

Congratulations Vidmaster7 on having wedding bells ring.
How did you feel about the entire thing?
Did you wake up a changed man at all?
Or did you trip over your missus getting out of bed and fall?

The Exchange

Oh my god this is the event of the year:
https://runnerreg.com/portal/registration/hksg-ultra
A runners dream, down right here.
I'm free now with nothing to do.
How many loops can I churn out, I don't have a clue!

The Exchange

I have just lost my job
Mewed the cat with a sob.

The Exchange

A townhall meeting my company has called.
I believe I will be walking out of it appalled.

The future of the company is to be told to us all,
I don't think it isn't something that wouldn't cause a squall.

Spent the beginning of the week with my hubbie.
All over Singapore we scurried.
Then I brought him to x Park at Bounce.
Now he's lying on the couch declaring he's trounced.

Congratulations Vidmaster7 on your wedding,
I can already hear the bells ring.
Gran what do you intend to do on your vacation days?
There's not much now that can be done for a getaway.

Having a nephew stay over busy I have been,
By the river side walking my nephew and I were seen.
Also his paws are a little short for the climbing wall,
He needs to learn to compensate for it or he won't get up at all.

It's not an impossible task for it is one I have to do.
Short cats can still climb as well as anyone too.
