Julian nods to Dalton and Lucian. "That is her. and did you see the look on Modius's face when she arrived? To be a fly on the wall in that room.."

Julian approaches the Prince and bows his head slightly. "My apologies. I was transfixed by the beauty of your carved mantlepiece. Such fine craftsmanship. You know how my kind has trouble letting such a magnificent piece escape our gaze. Julian, in embarrassment, seems to actually blush. Anyway, a happy new year to you Modius. I am honored to have been included on your guest list. Perception+Alertness: 4d10 ⇒ (1, 10, 10, 6) = 27 Julian turns his head from the prince just long enough to see the new comer. "Hmm, look what the cat dragged in.."

Preston, not Prescott. :-P Julian smiles at his new friends. "James and Patrick, the pleasure is mine. Your presence would certainly be a welcome one at the Firefly." Julian turns to the Nosferatu; "And George, I'm glad to see you made it through the doors. I didn't think the goons up there had the spirit of 92 on their list. Julian Preston." He says by way of introduction and reaches to shake Shanes hand.

Hey all, I had a family member pass away over this past weekend, so my next few days will be full of family and funeral stuff. This coming weekend is also commencement at the university I work for, which generally takes up a chunk of my time. My posting will be a bit spotty this week as a result. I’ll still check in and post as I can though!

As Julian and Lucien head into the ballroom, the Toreador muses. "Lucien, what do you think is going on here tonight? I've never known Modius to call an "All hands" type gathering before. I also can't help wonder what is with all of the workman types, staffing the party. I suppose it could just be a matter of convenience. They are probably already on the payroll after all." Edit: I thought Dalton went into the room for some reason. Sorry for not saying anything to you in my earlier post! "Dalton! I haven't seen much of you at the Firefly recently. Jenny has been asking about you. She says you must not love her anymore or some such. I swear that girl is a black hole of attention." Jenny Lane is the bartender of the Firefly and as much the "face" of the place as Julian is. I picture Jenny to pretty much be Jeanette from the VtM Bloodlines video game if you are familiar.

Julian passes his coat over to the attendant. "Make sure you don't get any cobwebs on the cashmere." He adds with a smile. When taking his ticket though, he passes the attendant a 20. He may have been smiling, but he wasn't joking. Once in the foyer, Julian smiles at the gangrel. "Happy New Year Lucien. Did you read the invitation? I would've thought we would be watching our final sunrise in the morning if we refused. "All who dwell in his territory" indeed. Anyway, it's nice to get away from the Firefly for an evening. Why would I think it would be a good idea to spend the rest of my nights running a bar anyway?" he adds with a chuckle.

Julian checked his appearance for the third time in the compact that he carried before exiting the limo. He figured this would be his first impression with many of the kindred of the city. You only get one chance and all that.. Before making his way to to the manse, Julian looked to his driver in the front seat. "Oh Harry, at this soiree will be some... mixed company. Remember to wait for me, but you may not want to open your door for anyone that you don't recognize. Enjoy your crossword." he pats the hood of the car and heads toward the party. Approaching the door, Julians eyes go wide at the sight of Shane. "Oh god!" He remarks with a wry smile. "I had no idea there would be celebrities in attendance tonight Mr Burns." Looking to the door attendant; "Julian Preston, sir."

Changes: Okay, I think that he should be all set now. I took away a do of strength, the haunted flaw and a dot in one of my knowledges that was actually just a copy paste error from my old sheet. I added an explanation for the Master of the Masquerade merit too. This netted me two points, so I took the blush of health merit.
Is all of that cool with you? Let me know if not and I can shake things up again. I also tweaked my background to include McPhee and Lucien. If anything doesn't fit in there, let me know and I can change it.
I'm cool with Milwaukee or Chicago. As far as WoD goes, I don't know anything about either, so it's all the same to me. I've also never been to either in real life, so there's that. Also, would it be alright if I used this merit from the Lore of the Clans book? It's in the Toreador Section on page 200, if you've got the book. Master of the Masquerade (2pt. Merit): There are many small tics, nervous habits, and autonomous bodily functions (like breathing) that Kindred simply forget to do. They can be unnervingly still or forget to breathe, particularly when they think they’re alone. You never let down your guard. The act of breathing remains an unconscious habit to you, and you never lapse into that eerie statue-like stillness, even when transfixed or concentrating. Consequently, the difficulties of all Social rolls are lowered by one when interacting with mortals. This Merit does not allow you to eat food or benefit from the blush of health (V20, p. 480) — those Merits are still required to be a true master of the Masquerade.

Ha ha, neat. Thanks for the info Jesse! Morgrym; if you were skipping out on going Toreador on because of me, I can switch Julian to Ventrue. I'm really not tied to that choice at all. Either way works for me.

Gotcha, I'll dig up my revised books and redo his stats. What is the Succubus Club? Is that something I should read up on?

And these, my dear Cassandra, are the VIP rooms. The waiting list to reserve such a room is typically.. Julian will continue to try try to seduce Cassandra , feeding on her in the heat of the moment. Two blood points will do. A well timed beep from his watch will remind him of his important guest that is arriving. He can't believe how quickly her presence has made the time pass and how sorry he is to leave her this way. She should certainly come back to see him again soon though.. Let me know what to roll.

Julian glides over to the table with a fresh mojito and a smile. "Jenni tells me that you've been sitting here alone tonight. My name is Julian. Let me show you around." Appearance + Subterfuge 6d10 ⇒ (1, 6, 8, 7, 4, 1) = 27 Julian will be showing the kine one of his exclusive back rooms.

After three tries, Julian settles on an outfit. It was a brand new black suit that had arrived from Italy only a week prior. Julian's tailor had the perfect eye to match his tastes.
Picking up his cell phone, Julian selects Jenni from his list of contacts, represented by a rather scandalous picture that he had snapped of her late one night. She hated that he kept it, but it provided no end of entertainment when he felt like teasing her. After Jenni picks up. "Jenni my dearest, I'll be arriving early for my meeting with Qadir. I'm hungry and I'm sure you are too. If you could find it in that lovely heart of yours, pick out some lonesome creature and make her drinks a little extra strong.. and for christ's sake Jenni, do try to pick someone at least a little attractive this time. I nearly lost both of our dinner's attempting to drink from that last warthog that you chose last time." With that and one last check in the mirror, Julian heads off to the Firefly for what should prove to be an interesting night. |
