The city doesn't matter too much to me either way. Brad's originally from the Milwaukee area and probably landed in Chicago in part because it was nearby, but he went to a top shelf ME program and that wouldn't put him there for schooling so he doesn't have deep recent roots. Probably UNC-Chapel Hill because my ten-second googling put it high in the ratings and I occasionally use an online library of 19th century texts they host.

No preference for Miles. I know zip about Milwaukee by night, but then, ICly there's a good chance I'd know Zip about either so no worries either way ;)
I am still tempted to throw a Nosferatu out there (Fully aware I wouldn't be playing both) instead if it will increase my chances and/or fill a niche ;)

Recruitment is now OPEN for Bloodlines - A V20 Vampire the Dark Ages Campaign - Clan Assamite
The catch one of the following two characters has to be played (at least at this time):
Durdona Checheg 8th Generation Childe of El Cid.
OR
Giovanni Dal'este 7th Generation Childe of Lord Bajazet al Nasir.

Still considering a character for this, but I'm not sure. I haven't had time to go looking for the books or anything so I haven't had time to look around and figure out what I want to do. I would PROBABLY build a Gangrel, though; they were my favorite in Requiem, so I'd likely stick with them.
There are pre-generated characters, plenty of them in White Wolf. If you want to play a Gangrel I could PM you some of the concepts and you can pick the one you like best and run with it JD.

Unless I messed up on the math, which is highly likely, I think Brad is set bar adjustment for 2e and my having done something particularly dumb and concept-defeating. Shifted a few points in abilities (he can pick locks now) and adjusted the backstory, as well as developed his ally. Main new thing is two flaws: Brad needs glasses or contacts (because he's that kind of guy anyway) and he's sporting Beacon of the Unholy.

Sounds good. On the 30th I'll review all submissions, send PMs re Backstory updates and Sires (where I have not already) and start Prologues.
Within a week or two, the characters should be all together for the opening story arc. Then, the groups will split in two. Assuming JD gets a submission up each Coterie will have six members. A good number!

Years ago, a buddy of mine was going to run a Milwaukee by Night game, but it never panned out. Not sure that I'd have time to put my character back together, but the character I had proposed at the time was a Ventrue who could only drink the blood of those who had been recently consuming beer. It seemed like a Milwaukee kind of thing.

That sounds hilarious.

Feel free to submit a character for this campaign, it will pan out this time around :-)

I can picture it now: This incredibly refined gentleman in a thousand dollar suit walks up to a fratboy on the street.
"Excuse me, sir, could I check your blood alcohol level?"
"Screw off!"
*sniff* *sniff*
"It'll do."

Will I have to drink Milk and Coca-Cola while living in a basement apartment with my roomate if I say Milwaukee is ok? ;)
Yes and you need to do your best to put up with the two annoying neighbors who constantly hit on you even though it's painfully obvious neither of you are interested :-)

My headcanon is that neither duo actually had much interest in the opposite sex, but it was the Fifties/Sixties/Seventies/Eighties so they were performing for each other because they didn't quite get that everyone was in the same position.

Interesting take, have not seen the show in so damn long my memories of it are hazy at best! I always found the two male leads annoying as could be.

It would be the early Nineties for me.

ha! I saw the episodes new. And as a kid, Lenny and Squiggy were my favorite characters. Don't forget, Lenny went on to be the lead singer for Spinal Tap (among other accomplishments).
Okay, so I decided "what the hell" and tried to re-create my old character. I don't actually have the Vampire books anymore, but I still have all the MAGE books. He's not exactly what he was, but I've tried to add some character to him. Therefore, presenting, Iron John, the Ventrue.

History:
John Anderson was one of those lucky kids who had it all, or at least all that counted to him. He was good-looking, athletic, prom king, you get the idea. He wasnt the sharpest tack, but a football scholarship got him into Notre Dame. See, John was a big guy. At 12, he was 6' tall; by 15, he was 6'4" and weighed a good 250, most of it muscle. By 19 he had grown to 6'9", weighing in at 315. Despite his size, he was light on his feet, making him a terrific player for both offense and defense. He had dreams of playing professionally, and it looked like he might well make it.
That all changed his senior year. John intercepted a pass and had just run a 73 yard touchdown when an opposing player clipped him from behind. You could hear his knee snap in the bleachers. He finished his degree, majoring in theatre, but it was clear that this dream was dead.
Still, John's dad didn't raise a quitter. Bill would always tell his son, "Life is change, boy. Change or die." Once his knee was functional, John took his size and acting credentials and started looking into professional wrestling. Moving to Atlanta, he joined up with the WCW, billed as "Iron John" Anderson. Seeing some success, he signed on with the WWF in 1990, where he became a protege of "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.
Once again, he was on his way to fame and fortune. And, once again, his knee took that dream away. There was an accident in a match with "The Ultimate Warrior." The Warrior paid for all his medical bills, but it was clear he would never wrestle again, nor walk without a cane. "Change or die," he famously told Vince McMahon, "change or die."
So he changed, once more. It turns out that some of the business classes he took in college were paying off. John was an excellent money manager, and even helped manage the funds of many of his wrestling colleagues. He set up a business in his hometown of Madison and became very successful.
Now that was all in his professional life. His personal life, well, that was even more chaotic. Although handsome and charismatic, John was terrible at choosing women, and the alcohol didn't help. His relationships rarely lasted longer than a few months (including briefly dating Paula Abdul before she met Emilio Estevez). Most women found that his drinking and devil-may-care attitude made for a great first impression, but a terrible long-term prospect. Many would call him an alcoholic before leaving him. It was all an act, of course, the "good time" guy. His drinking helped to numb the pain, of his knee and of his dreams. It's easy to say "change or die," but very hard to live.
Then he met Sabrina. She was not like any woman he'd ever met. She was evasive and secretive; pretty, but not flashy, not at all the kind of woman he usually dated. She was clearly well-off financially, but never said what it was she did to make money. And he liked that she had no idea who he was (or so he thought), never asked about his past life in football or wrestling. She just seemed interested in him as he was now. And she was.
John's business acumen caught the eye of a local Ventrue lictor (a regional Midwest operative in charge of many financial accounts) by making the vampire a substantial profit in several tech start-ups. The man asked Sabrina, one of his lieutenants, to look into John as a possible asset. Sabrina believed that John could indeed be useful to the clan, possibly (very) long-term, and was given permission to Embrace him. But John wasn't really consulted about this.
Following his rebirth, John was very confused. He felt fantastic, all his old aches and pains gone; even his knee didn't hurt anymore. But he was so hungry, and UNABLE TO DRINK (while there was no longer any physical addiction, the psychological addiction was still very real). Sabrina told him the rules, explained the Camarilla, the Masquerade, the political intrigue... and John wanted none of it. THIS was just too much change. But Sabrina believed he would come to embrace his new life, with time. She imprisoned him for several months, keeping him fed with her own blood while she tried to get through to him, to get him to see this as a gift, not a curse.
In the end, it was not Sabrina who helped him move through his grief and shame, but one of her servants. The young man had been drinking, and probably should have known better, but opened the door to check on Sabrina's "guest." John couldn't resist; he tore away from his restraints and fed on the helpless man. Somehow the alcohol in the man's blood calmed John, helped him feel a little more whole. He still wasn't happy with his situation, but at least he could think clearly, at least he could deal. "Change or die," he muttered to himself, wiping blood from his mouth. "Change or die."
Still have a few tweaks to make, and I wanted to go through and add bolding and stuff.

I am burnt out from a bad weekend with a sick child.
Tomorrow I will start to work on recent backgrounds for all PCs. I am thinking by Friday we'll be able to get this one off the ground but not sooner as I need to work late on Wednesday to make up for lost time last Friday having to call out. Plus I need to keep my other games updated :-)
As it appears there will be 13 of you (barring a last minute entry here from JD) I figure working on 4 characters per day PMs for each of you, will have us ready.

There are 13 of us and we didn't each pick a separate clan?!?! We really missed out. :-)
Also, for anyone interested, there is a VtM 20 Bundle of Hoolding going on right now!

My other Vampire Campaign does have all 13 Clans represented by PCs!
Storyteller Shadow |
Wow! I hope the Tzimisce and Tremere play well together, lol.
The Tzimisce in the city is represented by Vykos, the PC has yet to be Embraced by him. The Tremere are Mistress Fanchon , the PC that was her Childe was [ijust[/I] Embraced and a renegade Tremere that was a former PC from a table top campaign I ran 10 years ago, his Childe was sort of hanging on in game and not very active. The way the plot has developed I don't think the Tremere of the Tzimisce have even looked at one another much spoken to one another yet!
