Init. +4 | Perc. +6 | Speed 6 | Force 6/6 | blaster +5 (3d8+1) I liked the system used for building characters. The branching tree system was pretty fast and easy to learn. But the dice mechanics made the system feel a little swingy to me. Not to mention slow. I'm all for giving the GM more narrative control, but I worry that it was done at the expense of playability and speed. In fact, I'm convinced you could just use Fudge dice and roughly get the same result. It also feels like FF developed the game specifically to sell their own dice. And something about that just kind of irks me a bit. Not enough to write the system off, admittedly, but I could certainly understand why someone would. I'm curious about the West End d6 version. I've never played it.
