:( Another RotRL comes to an end before the first encounter.

I used PC Gen for a long while to get to know all of the options available, but now I just pull up a blank sheet on Myth-Weavers and put things together. Archives of Nethys is easily navigable, and you can create any concept pretty quickly just searching on the srd.

If you are really tied to the monster stat block approach, then Hero Lab is useful to get it into that format, but on the GM side, I have much preferred to port everything to a character sheet for most encounters. The big draw I have heard for HL is applying circumstantial effects, which is a quick boost in a RL session, but PbP is slow enough you can adjust by yourself without feeling time pressure.

Fingers crossed. Excited to see who gets to delve into shadowy London and beyond.

This Wilde quote seems appropriate for the coming darkness: "We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell."

Welcome to the best hobby there is!

A great resource for you will be Archives of Nethys which is the official Paizo system reference document. There is the old unofficial srd, d20pfsrd, but it also has 3rd party material and doesn't use copyrighted terms so a lot of it is iffy.

I have wanted to go through Rise since I started playing PF; I've had some build in mind over the years so I'll sift through them and see which ones aren't too overwhelming.

Looking for a team up.

First thoughts are either a Herald Caller Cleric with the Animal Domain or a Trap Breaker Alchemist.

Hmmm...So I don't see ranged I mean, besides casters I think I've got a Strix Thrown Weapon build somewhere.

Yeah, I was in a similar boat. I was planning for Guided Hand and completely forgot to look at its book. My actual copy of the crb is sitting on the table of my RL gaming group Where I am not allowed to travel to these days. I did find that you can still reach the old feat index and filter for Core. That helps a lot.

Thank you! Poor, poor player.

I know manufactured poisons can stack, but I'm having trouble tracking down if the Poison monster ability stacks with itself.

I have 2 Giant Centipedes that both hit one PC. Is he suffering from one instance of Poison? One that has a higher DC? Two?

Any help or reference would be welcome.

Let's see
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 2) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 1) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 3) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 1) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 3) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 1) = 11

...I think that ends up equaling a 4 point buy. So 20 it is.

I've been wanting to play RotR for years. I have a couple ideas bouncing around so I'll see what I can come up with.

At 8th level the White-Haired Witch archetype has the ability to grapple (and constrict/strangle), trip, and do a minor reposition as free actions with her hair after a successful attack. Can she do all three maneuvers on a single hit?

Ex.
1. Smack an Orc
2. Free action trip an Orc
3. Free action grapple an Orc
4. Free action constrict an Orc
5. Free action pull an Orc 5 ft
6. End of standard action

dice:
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 3) = 1714
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 5) = 1211
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 3) = 98
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 3) = 1714
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 3) = 1411
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 4) = 1614
I think I see a pattern here, but as that is the equivalent of 15 pt buy, I think I better ditch it.

I was debating between eternal haste or eternal displacement (Alchemist's eternal potion discovery); if you're going to handle spamming haste, then I'll plan to use displacement instead.

I was going to try to post tonight, but internet has been screwy and now I need sleep since it's almost 3 my time.

Just messaged with Seb. He's still up for it, but been slammed. Says he'll get something up soon.

So I've bitten off more than I can chew with a lvl 20 Arcanist...my first full caster and first character beyond 14th level. I wanted to focus on the Brown-fur Transmuter's abilities to boost the rest of the party with polymorph and such, but beyond that I am at a loss for spell selections.

I've not found a "preconstructed" spellbook for a transmutation specialized caster so...any suggestions? It's an overly optimized campaign so any "broken" combinations are actually welcome.

Will post shortly--the dinner bell is tolling. My statblocks are all over the place at the moment. Should have typed them out pre buffs just to have them available for moments like this. Snowflake's AC and Saves are lower than what is stated at the moment, but I need to figure out what is not active at the moment (i.e. there are "all day" buffs like mage armor that are just automatic things in the morning at this point).

And just realized I never completed anyone's spell books. Crap.

"Dragon Ball Z/Pokemon"...so Gokizard, Blasticcolo, Pidgeunks, Bulmasaur, Vikachuta?

Fine with me to play through it, just was not sure exactly what was happening.

So...split the party?

Woohoo! Something finally came up nice.

3 7s on consecutive d20s now. I think this dice roller is rigged for us to fail. Or at least to make these whelps even more inept than usual.

6 1s. That is crazy.

Broke away for few minutes. Will post.

...I really don't like the Paizo dice generator.

I'll be unavailable for most of the day, but I wanted to put forward the idea of aid another to complete this. I was trying to work out a wise--but stupid--teamwork phrase for Beaknose to use, but haven't quite got it yet.

Let me know what you think.

huzzah!

I had really hoped to get everything squared away with my characters, but they're basically hovering around 80-90% completion at the moment. The classes are static now, but it's taking me longer than I'd like to finish out feat and spell selection.

They are definitely viable to go forward if you are ok with me adding in feats and spells over the next few days since the characters basic combat functionality is online (i.e. Snowflake throwing exploding ornaments and polymorphed punching/natural attacking showing her foes the true meaning of Christmas, Mr. Foxerson summoning terrifying outsiders heavenbent on killing Krampus Santa's friends while singing Christmas carols, and Peppermint shooting massive snowballs or countless beams of DEATH!!!! Christmas cheer.)

I'd love to still go forward. If we need to bot or play two each I'm game.

Yeah, that's what's taking me so long. It's not as bad when you are specializing in a certain school, but there are still so any options to go through.

I think I'll be ready, but I'm traveling to the in-laws for half the day Wednesday so I may not finish it till late that night (EST)--though I'm going to try to finish it today.

That's what I figured, but it's an odd case of a feat changing what it does with how a prc works. Especially, when you don't see the prc to the end.

On myth-weavers, I normally set up broad categories like Statblock, Feats, Class Abilities, etc. in spoilers and then put each item in it's own spoiler or ooc with the description. Takes a while, but is pretty easy to search and makes it so you can instantly know what an ability does without scrolling past pages of text or having to go to search nethys or d20pfsrd.

In this case it's a matter of an additional 4 points per hit adding up to a possible 28 points in a full attack so I'm fine either way. Just wanted to address it sooner rather than later.

If you go the Evangelist prc route but only take it through lvl7, what happens when you reach 20HD? Do you gain the 3rd Evangelist Boon or the 3rd Exalted boon?

Dragon Style gives your first unarmed strike 1.5xSTR and allows you to charge through difficult terrain.

The second feat in the style chain, Dragon Ferocity, ups the damage on your first unarmed strike to 2xSTR and all other unarmed strikes get 1.5xSTR.

So the debated question is whether this section from Power Attack applies, "This bonus to damage is increased by half (+50%) if you are making an attack with a two-handed weapon, a one handed weapon using two hands, or a primary natural weapon that adds 1-1/2 times your Strength modifier on damage rolls."

And whether this part of the Monk's Unarmed Strike qualifies it "A monk's unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons."

-----------------------------
Also, I hope to have Snowflake up tonight. Just taking a while to convert to a profile on here. The one thing I dislike about Paizo's setup is not being able to nest spoilers. With this many feats and abilities to input, the page gets so long.

Where do you fall on the dragon style/power attack debate? Does Dragon Ferocity give -1/+3 to your attacks or is it still -1/+2?

The At-will SLAs and the Wild Gaze seem pretty powerful to me compared to most of what I've seen

I wish you could upload your own. Found this (currently free) pdf of a gingerbread golem yesterday https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/121268/Gingerbread-Golems?filters=4423 5_0_0_0_0.

On the flavor side, I was really looking for a way for my summoner cohort to bring out clockwork soldiers. Finally found one, but it was a +2 metamagic feat which I'm pretty sure can't even apply to the summoner's SM ability since it's an SLA.

Can we expect cold resistance/immunity on everything or is it a more even spread of fire/acid/electricity/cold?

Decided to still use some 3pp, but I am stepping it back on somethings. Just don't have time to completely rebuild these right now.

I'll drop my folks back down then.

@Tinsel It was a 3pp animal companion "class" that gave an additional size growth at high levels.

Since you can't go "prone" while on horseback (I'm assuming you would probably have to succeed on a ride check or fall from the saddle) I was flavoring it as "mounted" to the reindeer's back.

I honestly have never used 3pp in a game. Just really looking forward to bringing out some crazy combinations. I got the impression we would need a lot more than standard lvl 20 to go against the things Sebecloki was going to throw at us.

RAW, unless you are doing the druid shenanigans, 16d6 is basically the biggest bit of dice you're going to get so that makes sense they wouldn't bother adding in bigger numbers.

Can you check my rules mastery (and even more cheese) with the below?

Absolutely ridiculous plan:
So I plan to have Peppermint riding his gargantuan--at times colossal (Goliath Druid/Mammoth Rider with a 3pp animal companion thing)--reindeer having mounted a double hackbut to the reindeer's back. Mix in 4 3pp feats and we end up with this: Peppermint wields a Gargantuan hackbut (Goliath Grip allows him to be treated as one size bigger--Large--and the Titan Technique trio allows him to wield weapons with their regular handedness up to two sizes larger for a cumulative -6 to attack--Huge then Gargantuan). Peppermint then wild shapes into a Huge Storm Giant thus taking the Gargantuan weapon to Colossal+1 (Titanic, I think).

As these three increases are virtual size increase, actual size increase, and one dealing with simply wielding the weapon, they should all stack, correct?

I also came across a slightly more ridiculous gun that uses 3d12, but has seven barrels to load (may have a way to fix that). So assuming the above, that one should work out as:
(M)6d6->(L)8d6->(H)12d6->(G)16d6->(C)24d6->(T)32d6 right?

Alright, ignore my question above. Didn't need the second class. But I may have broken things slightly. So assume this is possible to start with and tell me if the end result is correct for damage dice (-> means a size increase).
2d12=4d6->6d6->8d6->12d6->16d6->24d6 or is it 32d6?

Peppermint is changing a bit. Still a reindeerback ranged character, but he now shoots really big "snowballs". He gets Gunsmithing from two classes; can I trade one of those out for another Gun related feat?
