I'm stepping out of the recruitment. Have fun you all!

GM, you may have missed my message up there, so just a gentle reminder that Ilse already has her background and sheet on the profile. Thanks!

Hi GM! Ilse should be more ready now :) I will still add some more sections on the profile detailing her appearance, behavior, these things, and maybe tweak a thing or two on the background. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts. Thanks for the opportunity!

Hi GM! I still have to adapt Ilse, rewrite the whole background, etc.; she unfortunately was part of a fake that never took off. It’s just that I like the okayo corsair theme, so I plan to rebuild her with that inspiration :) I’ll post her here again when she’s already complete. Apologies for the confusion!

- Would Weapon Focus be a fair "free feat replacement" for weapon finesse, since she gets it from her class and from the EitR rules?

It would be cool an Okayo Corsair swashbuckler with an urumi, or a hinyasi brawler playing the ship’s cook armed with a frying pan! Would classes that get finesse through their features (like unchained rogue) instead get like another feat in exchange or something of the sorts? Not sure how they’d work with EitR rules.

Quote:
The Seadrake, rearing its ugly head again in the Straits of Aerele to the north, has begun demanding tribute from passing ships and destroying villages on the northern coast of the Straits in Medoere, Diemed, and Brosengae. Strangely, it has been leaving the corsairs of Mieres alone, allowing the Mierese to claim their own bounty.

The part in bold perfectly highlights what I thought - either they know very well how to monitor and avoid the creature, or they have some sort of agreement.

From Ilse's background, her family had already some domain over the islands themselves, and maybe as Mhistecai and Vaumel fought each other, Mieres weakened enough for her to actually become regent for the lands as well (as much as she just loves living in the sea and cares more for the Grand Admiral side of things).

This sounds like something Ilse would proactively work to avoid, including creating networks of ships to warn where the creature is probably roaming! :D

No idea what a Sea Drake is :)

From my side, I feel Mieres matches Ilse a lot better, especially the island by east of it. Ilse could easily know well the others, since I imagine most traders would want to negotiate with the local pirates or at least avoid them :D

1d100 ⇒ 49

So, does it mean her urumi is a +2 urumi?

Would that island ("Albiele") and surrounding minor islands (an archipelago by the coast of Miere, it seems) be available as a domain for Ilse? Or would you have suggestions matching more her background?

Also, where are these tables people are rolling against? I'm looking at the PDF but I just see stats for the items, but not like % chances or things like that. If I got it right, one can either choose an item (and pay for it out of treasury) or roll for it?

My apologies for the confusion... Very new system for me, so everything feels alien.

On my phone at the moment, but will go through the map and other details later today. Ilse’s domain can be any small archipelago with trade routes that makes sense for pirates :)

I don't see anyone rolling! Is it somewhere else? Where are people rolling?

No idea what to roll or where to roll: 5d4 + 5d6 + 5d8 + 5d10 + 5d12 + 5d20 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 1, 4) + (6, 4, 2, 1, 4) + (3, 1, 5, 3, 1) + (2, 8, 10, 7, 10) + (1, 6, 7, 9, 12) + (8, 7, 8, 5, 5) = 147

Would you mind also opening the gameplay so we can dot to appear on the campaigns tab?

Should I like… find an item worth around 5k? I’m a little confused.

Tagging here! Like I said on the recruitment, I haven't played Birthright before, so I'm learning on the go here. It should be fun!

Here's Lapyd with my character - still a work in progress but I hope I'm going on the right direction, and I hope it gives the GM something to work on. Please let me know if I need to adapt/fix anything. Cheers!

I will follow my colleagues and pull some of the answers from her profile directly to the GM's questions :)

A character concept: briefly explain who they are and what they bring to the party.

Mughana is a shapeshifter and mostly a sort of melee combatant (and sometimes a switch hitter). She brings skills connected to survival, tracking and living in the wild, besides an assortment of defenses that make her bulkier than the average damage dealer. Her progression as a shapeshifter will give her a lot of versatility through the different available fey forms. Out of combat, her druidic-like skills will likely be useful to the party, especially as traveling through harsh environments.

Backstory: A brief overview of your character's history, showing what motivates them.

Mughana Mountainrise is a desert dwarf, married to an ex-adventurer and mother of four kids. She lives in Zimar with her husband, nowadays a shopkeeper, and sometimes travels the lands east following the Jalrune River towards the Inner Sea, stopping by the towns in the path - such as Heldren. She's a little over a century old, but not yet a middle-aged Dwarf, and despite being a fiercely caring mother, she loves the chances for small adventures here and there, as much as she loves hearing her husband tales of his past.

Having being kidnapped as a child by fey and sharing her husband's hatred towards witches and evil arcane spellcasters, Mughana herself isn't trained martially like him, a ranger, neither possesses natural or divine powers. What she has is a blood that had been experienced with, manifesting in strange druidic shapeshifting abilities that she didn't have a lot of chance to use or train. Different than most shifters, however, her skills are connected to the First World and its denizens.

(full background in the profile)

Why Heldren: Why is your character in the small town of Heldren in southern Taldor?

She's used to take the roads from Zimar towards the Inner Sea, usually preferring to follow the Jalrune River, and therefore she ends up staying with her caravan in the towns of the path, such as Heldren. She has been doing it for decades and likely she's known by the local innkeeper.

A little crunch: This should at minimum be a race/class/archetype combo. I don't need full crunch at this time, but if that's your thing go wild.

Crunch and other details in the profile! She is a Dwarf Shifter with the Feyform Shifter archetype. I might still do an update or two until the deadline, and of course anything by request of Delmoth.

Hi GM, here's Lapyd with my submission for the game - Mughana Mountainrise! She's a Dwarf Shifter. The crunch is there as well, but I'm working some last details on it as I focused on the concept and background first (and will check your custom/house rules).

Thanks again for running it!

@Barnaby: Loved the pet ant thing!
