I was reading the last sentence of the third paragraph to mean that:

If I read the rules for scent correctly, Goliath doesn't get the miss chance for this. Right?

Once the party gets back to the scene of the fight, Harrisk casts Speak with Animals and finds a squirrel or bird to talk to.

"Could you help us find the source?"

He smiles and says, "You know what to do, buddy!" While he does this he points one hand at the bigger skeleton and casts Guidance through the other, giving Goliath a pet on the head.

Goliath bolts up the stairs with Harrisk on his back. Harrisk uses this opportunity to change both his and Goliath's aspect to bull. He then casts Abundant Ammunition on his quiver and hops off his ride.

He rides Goliath next to Balenar as they walk upstairs with the rest of the group.

A wide smile crosses Harrisk's face as he rides Goliath into the room.

"Sounds good to me." Harrisk says as he walks over to the door. He checks for traps and if there aren't any, tries to open the door while standing to the side up against the wall.

"Hey, Kaa?" Harrisk asks in an inquisitive tone. "Are you going to carry that with you the rest of the way; can we store the other stuff we found in it?" his voice getting more and more hopeful with each word.

If Kaa is going to carry the chest through the rest of the tower:
Harrisk puts the two scrolls and the potion he grabbed earlier in the chest. He then runs out and grabs the banner from the stairwell and folds it neatly and puts it in the chest on top of everything else.

Hearing the commotion and cry for help, Goliath races off with Harrisk in tow. Harrisk then throws his javelin at the creature.

Harrisk tucks his newfound potion in his pouch, grabs his javelin, and rides Goliath upstairs with the others. Pausing only for a moment to check to make sure the banner he left outside the bunk room is still there.

Upon hearing Ryll's discovery he questions, "Is the door wet because of something on this side, or by something that might be on the other side?" Thinking the latter, he adds, "We should be careful when we open it."

Harrisk looks visibly impressed. "Well, THAT works! Let's see what we can find before they come back!"

"Ooh!" Harrisk says as he moves over to the potion. Once he comes out, he uses Create Water to remove any bat droppings from the potion and his feet. He dips his finger in the vial to try to taste and identify the contents.

Having no success, he wrinkles his nose at the taste.

Harrisk looks at Kaa, "I was just thinking we could leave them alone." A smirk crosses his face as an idea comes to him, "But...if we had something flammable we could toss in, I could light it and someone can slam the door before the fireball happens." Harrisk is trying desperately to keep his voice at a whisper, but his excitement is shining through.

Harrisk pets Goliath to get him to calm down, "Shhh."

He looks up at the bats. "Sorry. We didn't mean to wake you. Go back to sleep," he says in as soft and soothing a voice as he can muster.

"Great job, Ryll!" Harrisk exclaims and jumps on Goliath's back.

He rides up next to her and looks in the room. "Hey, Goliath, can you see anything in there?" he gives Goliath's head a rub as he changes the wolf's aspect to bat. (Darkvision 60ft)

Harrisk runs over to the other alter, snatches the scroll, and tucks them both in his belt.

He curiously walks over to the others to see what they're looking at. "Hmmm. A keyhole you said, Kaa?" He turns to Ryll, "Do you think you could open it like you did the one to get in here?"

"You're welcome!" Harrisk smiles as he wanders over to the black alter and looks at the items sitting on it. As he reaches for the scroll, he stops himself. Check for traps. Right.
