A post to the games I'm involved in or running:
I'm afraid I no longer have time for play by post games, and won't be able to continue. This is a crappy thing to do, and I apologize for where it leaves people, but you still should be informed even if the information isn't fun. The short of it is that I've recently gotten a new job, which is fantastic for me, but not for my game time. I'm involved currently in training for my new job, while also training my replacement for the previous position, and looking forward to a position that much more hands on than administrative (unfortunately leaving much less time behind a computer).
May these characters I've abandoned in your worlds be used to whatever means you see fit, whether prosperous or disastrous. I greatly appreciate the opportunity you all gave me to play/run some games, and apologize for strings left unfinished.
I bequeath all of my possessions to whoever avenges my death, or calls dibs first...
And to the game I was running, it's like when a TV series gets cancelled mid season. It sucks. A lot. Assume wonderful, but dangerous things happen in your characters' futures.

"I'm revolved!" the crystally brute stammers. "It's different. These things don't have the sophistication that we do! It tried to eat my face, and everyone knows the ribs and thighs have much better meat."

Groonk hardly needs the warning as he's already stumbling backwards, tumbling over himself in a frantic effort to get away from the misshapen creature clawing at its interior.
"These are not goblins!" he roars, still fighting to overcome the adrenaline rush.

With darkness abated, Groonk confidently leaps down through the archway to the glass-covered floor below. Let me know if there's damage in that... glass can't feel awesome, but maybe he misses it.
He's fascinated by these strange bags of purple liquid. He can't see deep within them, so approaches the one with a hand pressed against it and presses his own face against the plastic in an attempt to see deep inside.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
A couple times Groonk goes out of his way to step on some of the artwork, punching through the canvas with a heavy stomp or splintering the frame. It eventually becomes a sort of game where he's hesitant to step anywhere other than some beautiful canvas or intricate tapestry. Eventually he's arrested by the tangible "blackness".
It's strange that something hasn't already lunged at them from the other side of that dark veil, or blasted them with arcane arts. He looks to the other goblins, hoping one of them has a means to deal with the lack of light, but shifts himself to stand between the bulk of the group and the foul archway. He's not a huge target, but bigger than a typical goblin, and hopes to stand in the way of anything about to burst forth.

Groonk has never been more fascinated with anybody than he is with Talks right now... Spiders, INSIDE?!
He too follows eagerly, willing to help bash in the door beneath Blibberblab if necessary.

Talks-to-Trees wrote: Talks approaches Groonk after the fight. "What's a matter, big guy?" she aked. "Does it still burn?" "Groonk had a wonderful dream." he sobs, pulling himself back together. "Beautiful spiders fell from the sky like rain, to rescue Groonk from net. Some dreams are good to wake up from, but this one I miss." He wipes a big tear from his eye, resolving for it to be the last... cry time is over. Then he punches a small clump of stonework still fighting to stay standing beside him. "Think anything tasty was in this tower?" he adds quickly, trying to change the subject.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk roars out in agony, having lost sight of the spiders. Tears fill his raging eyes, his agony manifest in spite of the successful tower crashing Blibber just executed.
He also doesn't see the dead spider pinned to Haluk's back... that may be something worth keeping hidden. Or maybe it'll appease him. Hard to say, really.

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
The acid webbing scours deep marks along his calloused skin, sizzling with the scent of burned flesh. Should the deep grooves ever heal, he's likely to have a webbed pattern of scars across his body, which is somewhat appealing despite the immense pain it's currently causing.
Groonk drops to the ground, rolling frantically in the dust to try and remove any other webbing that may cling to him. (I assume, mechanically, that it isn't burning anymore... but he still wants to make sure.) Then he looks around, as if suddenly remembering, for those beautiful arachnids that had inspired him to such feats of escape in the first place. Where are his precious friends?
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
"GROONK NO LIKE BEING TRAPPED!" There's a high-pitched squeal to his voice, as panic overtakes him. The brute is falling into hysterics as he becomes encapsulated in these burning webs. Even as the strands melt into his flesh, he flails and screams.
This very well might be the worst day of his life, if it weren't for the gorgeous wave of spiders descending like angels from the tower above. Every cloud has a silver lining, right?

With his horn knocked aside, but the wight on the ground, Groonk bellows and charges the creature. He doesn't need a horn, he has one of his own! Or... at least if he did, it would be on his forehead right? So jumps on top of the wight, trying to pin it to the ground and even head butt it if he manages to take control.
Not sure if defying danger, or hacking and slashing... or maybe something else. But I'll roll strength.
Strength: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11
And it's very likely that Groonk jumps in there in time to really feel the blowback of whatever Blibberblab just attempted.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk leaps out of the tunnel, but is surprised to see that he has lost track of his beetle friend. How unfortunate! But luckily there are some really sickly looking drow-things.
His own horn whistles through the air as he brings it swinging low, trying to smash one of the wights and send it toward the tower itself. "Duck!" he yells out to the other goblins who might be in the path of destruction.
Hack n Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9

Groonks smiles as the beetle nuzzles him, but he's thinking of the scorpion the whole time.
With burrowing underway, he charges down the tunnel in pursuit. Does the horn fit? If not, then it's time to be a distraction it would seem :/

I say we follow this giant bug! Assuming, that is, that it isn't here to get revenge on us for killing it's pappy or something *as Groonk tries to hide the massive horn in his hands*
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
"Lot's of ground to cover..." Groonk grunts, looking at the open field that spans between them. "Too bad that big metal thing isn't here for a distraction. We need something like that so we can get across that field without all the little squishies getting skewered along the way."
I look around, Discerning Realities if necessary. Is there anything in the open field that might provide cover, or is it a straight open shot to the tower?
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk is wildly fascinated by this thing... how can it speak to him?! But then the scorpion in his arms starts hissing at it.
Feeling a rage build inside of himself, he releases the scorpion to do as it wishes, trusting its judgment. If this thing makes the scorpion uncomfortable, then it's no friend of Groonk!
"So... trick?"
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
With the scorpion going limp, Groonk can fully embrace it now, hugging it tightly as the limp tail flops above him. He finally takes notice of the strange machine... having forgotten that his original intent was getting to it.
"You talk to Groonk?!" he blurts, clearly shocked. "Is there something living inside of you? Or is this trick?"

Talks-to-Trees wrote: Talks Clack-clack-clack-clacks up to Groonk. Decisions were hard now, too. Should she draw her friend's attention? All these eyes had her distracted. Should she draw her friend's attention? Maybe pat him on the shoulder. Oooh, shiny! Should she draw her friend's attention? Maybe. But his shoulder was a long way away. Probably just better to grab part of the crack he's messing with and help him push or pull it in the same direction! But maybe she should get his attention first.
She grabs the empty crack with one of her claws and waits to see what Groonk does.
Groonk usually closes his eyes when he really wants to use his strength... that way he doesn't get distracted, or frightened at what's about to happen. But he feels the light touch of something else near his own meaty hands--with fine hairs covering the chitinous appendage.
His eyes burst open and he turns to look into ten black orbs, reflecting his own distorted image back at him. The dark crystals in his back begin to glow ever so subtly as he gazes on this gigantic arachnid...
Suddenly he releases the wall and embraces the scorpion beside him. "YOU'RE BEEEOOOTIFUL!" he gushes, undoubtedly alerting anything nearby of their presence.
While it may seem like I'm missing a golden opportunity, I am even more intrigued by the thought of what an infatuation with insects could mean for a future fighting dark elves...
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk stares at the whirring, metallic gnome for a moment... it doesn't look edible, so his interest isn't exactly piqued. But it does look like it might be something the others would enjoy examining. So he could at least gain some rapport by bringing it back.
Taking a deep breath, Groonk slides his fingers into the crack in the wall and tries to pry open the damaged barrier. There's something shiny on the other side, and these faulty ruins are in his way.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk is ignoring the fodder and strange objects, but instead looking all around as if trying to figure out the source of the whirring. Obviously it's not something in the building, but must be moving around outside. He'll slowly pace around, trying to discern in what direction the noise gets louder or quieter, until he can tell the relative direction of the source.
Warmer... warmer... colder, no... ah, warmer... he thinks to himself.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk hoists the massive horn on his shoulder, already bruising slightly from the weight, and pushes through the other fodder to check out the nearby buildings at Blibberblab's request.
"Step back, squishies." he barks at them. "You crowding the doorway!"
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
It doesn't make a lot of sense to just go swinging at black orbs, knowing that whatever's contained within would be near impossible to hit. So instead, Groonk roars out as they retreat... a bellowing roar that shakes the ground and rattles the trees surrounding.
They should be running... they can't handle this.

Discretion being the better part of valor, and relieved to not be dying for once, my followers and I flee into the underbrush to regroup.
Groonk does as he's told. Following order, he charges the trees, but does so in a wildly reckless manner.
Juggernaut: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 2 = 11
Choosing to cause catastrophic damage to the trees, scattering debris everywhere; and not to take damage. I don't need to push through, trees can "halt his progress"!

Wisdom: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (1, 4) + 0 = 5
Groonk is busy trying to balance the gigantic beetle's horn. The appendage is far from balanced, and the fact that such an awkward creature can hold the object defies physics. Then suddenly a hail of arrows slams into the goblin's right side.
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
-2 for armor I assume
Most deflect off of crystals and shards already embedded in his flesh, but one carves a shallow, bloody groove across his backside.
"GRAHH!" he yells out, then whirls to face the direction of the arrowfire.
Lvl 2 Brute | HP 26/27 | AC 2 | D8 | Str +2, Dex -1, Con +2, Int 0, Wis 0, Cha +1 | xp 0/8
Groonk also returns with the fodder to the remains of the giant beetle. Does it's horn remain? If so he will grab hold of it with two hands, crystals shifting as his muscles flex, and try to rip the large appendage free of the creature's head.
Level up move:
Gigantic
Ignore the Two-handed tag on normal weapons, and treat unfeasibly large objects (e.g. cannons, statues, giant's limbs) as two-handed.

Groonk rushes with thundering footsteps to where the teller of great stories has fallen. The giant stands atop the limp body of the follower that tried to kill him and lifts up the bard to shake him furiously. "Don't go storyteller!" He yells in the goblin's face. "The she-goblins and shroom-beer are lies... it just smells like bug juice!"

Groonk is about to bite down on the lizard's arm when he realizes she's offering the blade that it's holding, rather than the delectable arm itself. "Hmmmmmm..." he grumbles for a moment. "It's harder to eat something I'm friends with. That's why when I was a snotling my parents wouldn't let me name our spiders. Ok delicious one, we friends now."
To satisfy his rather disappointed stomach, the bulbous goblin licks much of the beetle ichor from his own arms and legs... wherever his mouth can reach without pulling a muscle or popping a joint.
Where did blibberblab fall? Groonk likes his stories and would likely want to help if he knew what was going on.

So this is the goblin afterlife. Groonk thinks to himself. It's warm, and smells horrible, which makes sense. But where are the beautiful females? Where is the shroom-beer? Where are my wings?
Suddenly there's a small light up ahead. He must not be to the goblin afterlife but in transition. And there's a delicious lizard waiting there to meet him... he begins to salivate already.
Wait, is that Talks? "Oh no!" the mutated goblin bellows. "You dead too!?"

Groonk's Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
"GRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH---!" The Brute yells as the beetle climbs higher into the air. Taking a deep breath... potentially his last, Groonk releases his ram's horn lodged in the insect's back and jumps free at the apex of the flying arch--lifting him even higher into the thinning air as the gargantuan beetle dive bombs the others.
It seemed like a brilliant decision a minute ago, but now that he looks down on his impossibly tiny brethren he stifles a second thought. No turning back now.
As the beetle descends, so will the Brute. He swallows big, hoping to aim for the gargantuan beetle--dive bombing the dive bomber. He stretches both arms out to his sides like an awkward bird, and his intestines churn within him as he freefalls.
I'm not certain what rolls you want here, but Groonk is committed to it. Maybe it's initially a Leap like he used to get on the beetle's back, or maybe it's some variety of Defy Danger to aim right? Either way, should that stuff succeed the ultimate goal is to trigger Juggernaut. If not on the beetle, then wherever he lands I suppose :/
Juggernaut Roll: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8
I'll choose one of the options once I have an indication of how on target he is...

With a bellowing roar, Groonk takes hold of his ram's horn and leaps at the Incredible beetle's thorax. At Retzack's reprimand, Groonk abandons his hope for a snack and falls in line behind the "Rocker and his fanatics". The monstrosity has no retinue of his own yet, and will have to earn it. So for now, he continues to follow the teller of stories.
Blibberblab may be able to use the katana best. Otherwise, Groonk would be willing to wield it until they can sell it I imagine. Though he's much more of a blunt force type.
