As the team investigates the library, Grisaia channels more healing to recover their wounds.

I have been dealing with my spouse in the hospital the last few weeks. Things are improving slowly, will try to update later.

"There is no need to use your magic. Shelyn's power should be enough." Grisaia channels the power of her goddess to cleanse the wounds inflicted by the insects.

I'll agree with Ikilwa, Quinn sounds like the wise choice for an investigative mission. I'll try to post some bot rolls tonight.

We may have to go into the mirror to deal with them once and for all." Grisaia ponders the notes as she follows after Kimiya. "Hao Jin was researching teachings of Abadar when she was here. It sounds like she had some sort of city building idea, perhaps in part how to safely collect sites for the tapestry?"

"It is definitely magical, else I would suggest a mage hand spell if Ikilwa is capable of it. Do you see the trigger, trapmaster?"

"Yes, the library is open. Stand easy, friend." Grisaia responds in kind.

Grisaia moves back towards the opening, out of sight of the construct. Following Ikilwa's advice, she works to wrap her cloak around her in the style of the Tian reflections, before striding forward to meet the guardian.

Accepting Ikilwa's communal tongues as well.

Can we add some Inspire Competence as well?

Having run this, I was trying not to metagame the scene. Normally Disguise is a secret roll, but I'll just put it here.

Grisaia speaks a prayer of understanding, listening for a repeat of the command. "I have no magic that would assist in trickery, but I can give someone the tongue to reply if that would help."

We are supposed to limit how long we are in the tapestry, so being fast is a good thing. Maybe once we have traps cleared from a couple areas we can split up into teams.

"I believe this is your expertise, Ikilwa. Shall we follow behind? Or would it be better with one of us leading the way?" Grisaia waits at the entrance, eyes roving over the upper reaches for obvious threats.

I imagine we will have Ikilwa checking for and disabling traps in each new area as we go.

"I am called Grisaia. It is a pleasure to meet you and yours, Bridge-And-Logs. Ikilwa was just telling us of the quality of the traps laid before us. You mentioned evil spirits, would you tell us more about them?"

"A wise course. I have prepared a prayer for ascending heights, but it will not last as long as we might need. Best to save that for exploring the building."

I was really tempted to bring my nagaji Loracle, leaving Elmon the token noscale. :P

"I have utter confidence in Ikilwa's work. The Society attracts the most unique artists I have ever met." Grisaia tests the bridge with the end of her glaive. "My confidence in the workmanship of the bridge is of course, not as strong. Shall I test it with my weight first?"

"Thankfully, Shelyn is my shield when the need arises. I will do my best to prevent any harm falling upon you as well." As she make the promise to Ikilwa, she regards Slyder with obvious admiration. "A most impressive companion, Elmon. Hopefully such efforts will not be required."

Arriving in the tapestry, after a deep breath of the locales air, Grisaia regards the river with dismay. "If it is a mimic, I hope we can negotiate its help for some food. I do not fancy a swim."

"Your reputation precedes you, Captain Underfoot." The deep smoothness of the half-orcs greeting belies her heavily armored frame, mithral spikes forming the thorns of the roses decorating the plate metal. The same iconography is etched into the glaive she holds upright at her side. "Grisaia Rose, at your service. I have some experience with the tapestry myself, which tells me enough to know that my experience could be completely unsuited to the terrain around the archive."

Smiling easily with a warmth that reaches her eyes, she turns to the venture captain. "Have we heard reports of any inhabitants of the location from previous expeditions? I can prepare some prayers of understanding to help communicate with any unusual denizens."

I'll be updating to my cleric as a better fit for the mission, in ability and also experience. (She's done all of the other tapestry missions after this one.)

Planting the butt of her glaive for stability, Grisaia gestures at the plant creature. "Shelyn, admonish the evil before us and cast from it sight." A flurry of rose petals bursts over the etheroot, attempting to cover its lack of eyes.

DC16 Reflex save to reduce 1d4 rounds of blindness to dazzled.

Moving to cover Kenath, Grisaia offers another prayer. ”May your beauty be my shield.” A shimmer of force appears between her and the plant as she holds her glaive at the ready.

Casting shield and moving forward.

"Shelyn, grant us fortune." Grisaia prays, feeling the warm protection wash over her and her companions. "Stay near, if you can. This blessing only extends so far."

Casting Beacon of Luck, everyone has a one time use of fortune on a saving throw. (Roll twice and take the better on a save.) You must be within 30ft of Grisaia to use it.

"If it attempts to confuse our emotions, I can suppress the evil for a brief time. Beyond that, I have little prepared."

Speaking a quiet prayer, Grisaia enjoys the gift of tongues once more. ”Please tell me everything you can and I shall share with my companions. What wrongness do you feel?”

”Shelyn, guard us against the evil that clouds this place!” Grisaia offers up a prayer as she moves forward.

Activating Deflection Aura for +2 deflection to all allies within 20ft of her. If one of the guards moves up to her, she will use her AoO to attempt a trip maneuver.

"I am Grisaia, servant of Shelyn. As my companion said, we are here to pay our respects to the High Priestess. Our mission is to learn and share knowledge with the peoples of the Tapestry. We offer humble thanks for any assistance you can provide."
