It doesn't much matter with the dagger (cause it's destroyed) but if Geshko critically succeeds on a Recall Knowledge check, Monster Hunter gives a +1 to his next attack that he can share with the party.
Even though I doubt he can get anymore information than Khaldan did, he would roll anyway.

So the DC for him would be at least a 25 (15 level 1 DC, +10 unique), meaning the roll of 23 (16 roll +5 Society +2 Hunt Prey bonus) was not enough.

Just curious what Knowledge skill was rolled for the elf with a +2... I thought Elves were Society or maybe Nature, at a +5 or +4 respectively...

I don't know if there were penalties added in, or if it was a mistake. I'm trying to get familiar with 2E, and Recall Knowledge is one of the overhauls I'm having a hard time grokking. Thank you.

If no one took it, I guess he still has it... he *can* use it quite effectively if need be, given its a Finesse weapon.
