Yeah, the Rogue Weapon list is very human/elf-centric. I have yet to see a dwarf wield a rapier in 30-odd years of gaming. It should be the basic standards and one flavor weapon: rapier, handaxe, slingstaff, or cutlass, etc.

Thanks for checking.

It is based on a handaxe so he can finesse it. That would be a x3 mult. but it is also an improvised weapon that he is using with his Rough and Ready trait. Improvised weapons are typically 1d6 and x2 on a 20. I felt that would win out and the 'axe' part means slashing damage.

Its mostly flavor at this point and once we become 'real' adventurers he will likely upgrade to a real weapon.

Big apology from me. Somehow I deleted the thread from my 'focused' threads. I thought the group had gone silent, hence my post on to the discussion thread a few days ago, sort of seeing if their was still activity. I must have missed the number of posts on the play tab. I thought to look today specifically to see if I had screwed up somehow, and to my utter embarrassment I had. Again my apology to all for holding things up and a lesson learned to me to beware accidentally eliminating a thread.

At the vault entrance, Gar pulls his adze from his belt. "Let me give it a looksee first. I got the eyes for dark spaces. Just don't want us to walk into any Gobo trap...not that they are that smar...." Gar voice drifts off and he disappears into the dark for a quick look and listen.

Between shoveling in dripping spoonfuls of stout and eggs Gar speaks up, "What the Gobos want with churches and crypts? They got free pickings down on Junk Beach. I could see them breaking in here to the Dragon to get at the food and beer, but dusty stones... unless it's gold. The dead get decked out in a lot of it."

Gar takes his mug and drains it in a single beard-drenching motion "BRaaaaaP". He wipes his blood and grime covered arm across his smiling face and beard to clear the foam off. "Ah. That takes the edge off from clobbering those Gobos. Another pint just might clear the smoke from me lungs."

"What you got there big guy? Gar looks at the legible note, then up at the warrior, and finally back to the note. "Ah, well, it is smudged quite a bit." Gar makes a show over smoothing the parchment, "I recognize Savah's name here. This is for a discount at his Armory here in town. Good selection, weapons too. He must have seen you being swarmed by those vermin...AND LAYING THEM LOW." Gar adds the last part in a loud voice to make sure everyone was aware of the abuse the masked man(?) went through.

Gar hands the note back and holds out his hand, "I didn't catch your name when we shouted out introductions during the fight. I'm Gar Duncrick, I work as a shipwright in the shipyard. Henry here, with his magics that I was unaware of, is a local. Gyorgy I have seen around, usually during theater season if I am correct, and his magics are a surprise as well. I take you for a visitor Big Guy, like Mikal, correct? With his blade and magic...that just seems showing off. And then Miss Clea a blessed devote of Desna, a wanderer as well?"

Gar doesn't pause as he passes along buckets, "I will raise a tankard to yer continued health gladly, but only after we get these fires under control. In an event, I would be surprised if Miss Amieko ain't working the buckets somewhere. The Rusty Dragon would be a lonely place I fear.

Gar thunders around the market stalls and bears down on the Goblin threatening Henry. [b]"Get away from him you #%*&@#*%......"[b] Gar's tirade continues in Goblin questioning the Gobbo's parentage and likelihood of cross species breeding.

Gar feels a tap on his shoulder and risks a quick glance to find the Desna priest behind him. The Goblin takes advantage to lunge during the distraction. As Gar turns back and sees his opponent managed to impale himself on the Dwarf's adze.

Gar watches the townsfolk drag away the goblin to the group near the Half-Orc. "Souvenirs for the Sheriff and Mayor to deal with. To you visitors Clea, Mikal...um Magic-flame-guy, I say thanks for stepping up. Sand Point usually isn't knee-deep in Gobbos. Oh, we have the occasional trouble, but they mostly tend to just prowl Junk Beach. They are fun to throw rocks down at. But I agree Henry, Licktoads in mass, attacking from different directions, very strange. Especially since Seven Tooth Gobbos claim the beach."

He waves the tall swordsman over and calls, "Hey you, Masked Mountain. You still got a fight in your belly? Follow us to the fire, because I guarantee, where ever there is fire, there are gobbos...like moths to a flame...big green, grubby moths."

Gar spits on the unconscious goblin at his feet. "Ain't known a Gobbo to say anything worth repeating. But if'n someone wants risk their sanity, fine. But we should hurry, there is still a fire somewhere.

When someone hands him some cord, he trusses up the goblin, impressed while he does with how messed up this goblin is. To Gyorgy at his side, "You did this son? Impressive. Goes to show how dumb the Gobbos are. He pauses to laugh, They attack the day the town is full of wizards and priestesses and that small mountain of sword and armor over there. They didn't see you coming, huh? Gar's the name. Come, you got any water magics for that fire?"

Gar feels a tingle along his arm and the wound there closes enough to stop the flow of blood. Looking up, he sees a Varisian gal looking like she might be a priestess of sorts, Desna most likely. As the men around him clobber the last of the goblins in his scrum he raises his adze in salute to the woman and calls out. "Thanks and well met. Let me buy you a beer later."

To those around him, "Good job. Like I said, let's finish off the buggers and the beer is on me." Gar pounds off to check the nearest goblin who was magic'ed and might need a push to make it to Goblin Hell.

Gar raises his adze and sees the blood running down his arm, his blood. In all the excitement he hadn't felt the rusty spear nick him, but there it was...and there was the goblin.

With support arriving Gar slips past his opponent and attempts to take out the dirty runt already wounded. But the little buggers just keep moving too much...or his vision does. "Stand still!" Whether this frustration was directed at the goblin or his eyes, even Gar is unsure.

I assumed as a Sandpoint native Gar would at least know of Henry and be surprised by a showy display of magic. But I could understand them not being bus or anything like that, as that doesn't seem Henry's MO. Hence Gar thinking of him as having something to do with the shrubbery. ;-)

From reading backgrounds it seems Gar and Henry are the only locals but I wasn't sure how known Gygory would be. Does this seem correct?

Gar presses forward, hoping to clear this wing to then help the villagers and guests falling back to his right. Some black shaft shoots out from behind him toward the goblins and he risks a quick glance to see Henry that gardener fellow behind him, "Henry?"

That distraction with also stepping over the dead goblin in its slick pool of blood proved to be enough to spoil his aim. "Drat it."

Kal! Hang in there." The villager beside him takes a spear hit so Gar steps up to protect him. His adze lashes out at the nearest goblin. Up this close, the vermin smell worse then as he remembers, but luckily they bleed just the same.

Gar is used to hacking logs with more resistance. His blade carves too easy and too deep into the goblin he faced. With a grunt, he yanks the blade free from his mangled opponent and screams, "You want to take on Sandpoint? You got to get through me!"

Over the cries of those around him, Gar can hear the giggling chants and the tell-tale song, "Those be Goblins! The Gobbos must be up from the beach. To arms!"

His hand instinctively goes to the adze, hooked on his hip. He hefts the blade and then moves through the crowd toward the commotion.

After the games Gar settles in again at the Rusty Dragon's booth. Although the food is free, he makes sure to tip generously.

When he sees Ameiko pass by with an empty tray after delivering ales to thirsty villagers, Gar reaches out and hooks her sleeve to pull her close. In a laughing tone he jokes, "Say Ameiko, why is it the Festival stew is so much better than what you serve us? You trying to sucker in some more marks unaware of the liquid iron rations you normally serve us."

I got my laptop working on a more reliable network now. I am still with family away from home, but I am now able to check in more reliably. I am dealing with a great sadness but this provides a welcome distraction.

I have established rolld20 on my laptop.
