I'm actually just running through the finale on that series now with Shifty and a crew of skittermanders! The whole series is pretty excellent!

Oh shoot! I just realized I gave you the incorrect information for Gamuzali, GM. His character ID is 703, not 702. Any chance you could fix that on the chronicle and in reporting? Sorry for my mistake there!

That aside, this was a great game! Thanks for the GM for running it (including a well-run starship combat, which can always be a challenge), and to my fellow players for a great time together. Looking forward to playing with you all again sometime!

Gamuzali raises his glass to his allies, "The fallen."

"A generous gift, as all we did was what our mission required. Still, I will be glad for a bit of quiet after another brush with the undead. I wonder if you feel the same, Zargothrax and Shokil?"

Still sticking to the trench as much as possible, Gamuzali rushses to his fellow vesk's aid and strikes at Yellow with his Meteor Claw.

Gamuzali is also caught off guard by the storm. He weathers the Shriek to the best of his ability but it still makes him a bit unsteady as debris and wind swirls around him.

Looking behind him as the undead emerge, Gamuzali tries to stifle a shudder before he shouts, "Fall back to the trench! No need to let the weather beat us up while these bone-heads are trying to do the same." Gamuzali forms his solar weapon as he moves down into the trench, then flames begin to run along the edges of the claws.

Gamuzali is just about to move up and lend his strength to help Chk'tarlsh, when Freeman comes up with an ingenious lever to shift the fallen tree. "Good work, Freeman. Work smarter, not harder, right?"

Gamuzali follows Shokil across the fallen tree bridging the ravine. "Seems like we've all just about got the same idea. Let's check the vehicle. Keep a sharp eye out for local threats, though."

"Agreed. Seems like the only way forward for the moment. Let's get down there." Gamuzali adjusts his armor and proceeds to the entrance.

"Mmm, a lizard spirit? Any rumors that the ancient protector is still around? If we're going to be heading in to face down some kind of spirit, we'll need to prepare ourselves."

Gamuzali looks on with a stony expression as Bryqin's ship explodes. "So comes the end of those who bid for power without the ability to harness it. Be at rest, Captain. You fought bravely, but your time has come."

Later, at the cantina, Gamuzali can hardly keep his look of distaste from his face. "I thought jazz was about hitting the wrong notes, but I guess there are some notes that are really wrong. Still, thank you for inviting us to the show, Brigadier."

Gamuzali sees that the Drake is in a vulnerable position, so he leans forward in his captain's chair and shouts down at Zargothrax, "Time for you to show us what kind of pilot you are, Lizard Wizard!"

Although he doesn't have a precise readout on the status of Bryqin's ship, Gamuzali can see that the Starfinder gunners did some significant damage to the enemy vessel. "Keep that up, gunners! Another salvo like that and we'll end this fight!"

Gamuzali stands and steps toward the view screen, "Captain Bryqin, I'm sorry to meet you under these circumstances. Your people are known for your strength and spirit, and that is something any vesk would respect. Unfortunately, we find one another in a difficult situation. You see, we are here on behalf of the Starfinder Society to further strengthen our ties with the Veskarium. To that end, we are required to disable your ship and bring you before the leadership of Spaceport 5.1. Prepare for combat, captain!"

He signals to the Science Officer to close comms, then returns to his captain's seat and takes a seat. "Mr. Abistar, please demonstrate the strength of this vessel's arsenal."

Gamuzali replaces his gauntlet, then turns, activating his vocal amplifier as he addresses the panicking crowd. "Citizens and personnel of Spaceport 5-dot-1: remember where you are. Remember who you are. You are members of the Veskarium, and you know your orders. Follow the emergency protocols, and order will be restored! Now, moving calmly but quickly, go!"

With that done, Gamuzali turns to his compatriots. "Zarg is right. We have to get to the Drake, especially if this is some sort of attack. Tassada, if you are not injured, we could use your aid in confronting whatever this is. If you have other duties to attend to, though, then we hope to see you again once this is over."

Gamuzali nods, "Ah, so perhaps you know Zigvigix, the leader of the Exo-guardians! He is strong, though he has suffered much in his tenure as our faction leader. As for myself, I have spent some time volunteering my services in defense of the Suskillon system in their ongoing fight against the Swarm. I was proud to shed blood for them, and it has cost me much, but I do not regret it." He holds up his right arm and pulls off the gauntlet of his armor to show the prosthetic forearm and hand beneath.

During the stretch of downtime, Gamuzali does his best to keep himself sharp as he always does. He finds the most rigorous gym and training facility he can schmooze his way into and spends his time reacquainting himself with some of his quickly-fading former military training regimen.

When the dreadnought docks in the station, he is invariably drawn to the sight just like the others. And when it's Tassada Kor to disembark from the vessel, he is just as impressed as the others, though he didn't have quite the knowledge to recognize her at a glance.

When she pauses to speak to the group, Gamuzali offers a salute. "As my comrades say, we are indeed Starfinders, though I am also ex-Vesk Special Forces. Is there something we can do for you, ma'am?"

Responding to Elgr (in the second spoiler), Gamuzali nods, "Yes, there is much to appreciate out among the stars. As you can see from these worms, though, there are also many things to be wary of. Still, any citizen of the Veskarium should have the strength to survive out there. If you do ever make your way to the Pact Worlds to join the Starfinders, look me up. I'll try to point you in the right direction to keep you alive."

Gamuzali runs directly south to get to green, though the gravity keeps him from moving very far.

Just a quick note: That second attack was a hit, but Gamuzali has DR 5/P, so he should only have taken 6 points of damage from the bite.

Gamuzali focuses the energy of his weapon, and the claw is sheathed in arcing flames as he roars once again and attacks his foe (Red).

Gamuzali lets loose a reptilian hiss as his mote descends on his right arm and suddenly expands into a form like a clawed vesk hand the size of a car door and limned with dark flames. He raises his solar weapon high and brings it down on the work with another hiss, challenging this foe to a fight to the death.

Gamuzali winces as the tremors knock him around. He gets back to his feet as quickly as he can, though, as a threat suddenly makes itself known.

Gamuzali also moves toward the miners with Freeman and Shokil. "How are the expeditions going, citizens? Notice anything unusual lately?"

Gamuzali looks very thoughtful as the next assignment comes in from Naiaj. "Vesk-4 next, huh? Well, looks like this really is a homecoming trip." His eyes flick to the solar mote hovering over his shoulder before he settles down into his station aboard the shuttle that carries them to their new location.

Upon arriving at the site, Gamuzali does his best to keep an eye out for threats. This seems like it'll be a job mostly for those with cultural and technical expertise, neither of which are his specialties. But Naiaj's instruction to protect the team and the equipment has him on high alert--he knows how harsh life out in these mines can be. Now it's his job to make sure the team gets through their time here safe.

Good, Gamuzali thinks, Another competent team of Starfinders. Perhaps we will survive this trip home after all.

"I've got some titanium cable," Gamuzali offers. "The biggest trouble is going to be approaching her, and then figuring out how to convince her to come along. Any of you know anything about driving defrex? Sounds like you at least have family who farm Zarg."

While thinking about how to bring Coral back to the ranch, Gamuzali holds out his hand. His mote floats down and comes to rest in his palm. He delicately reaches into the center of his mote and plucks out the crystal inside it. He replaces the crystal with a second one he pulls from a small pouch at his hip, and the mote begins to shimmer and crackle with electricity.

Taking a moment to replace my least graviton weapon crystal with a least tauon weapon crystal. This crystal has the stun weapon special property, and I will leave all damage on it as non-lethal in case we need to fight Coral.

Gamuzali looks at Zargothrax, but doesn't reply directly to his fellow vesk's apprehension. "I agree Abistar. And while waiting out the storm might mean we lose the trail for the time being, I don't doubt that we'd have a hard time of it even if we did manage to catch up to Coral in the midst of this storm. Let's find shelter."

While the other members of the team attempt to move along balanced upon the fallen trees, Gamuzali if forced to attempt hopping from one island to the next thanks to his heavier armor.

"Mmm...true enough, Freeman. And their hides make for good armor. Their byproducts aside, what do you think Mister Zorbolo? Do you have any open pastures where you take your herds to graze or any such activities? Could be Coral headed for familiar terrain after she got loose."

Earlier

When the mission to Vesk-2 was posted in the the Lorespire Complex, Gamuzali was quick to accept the job. After his recent experiences, he is glad for the chance to take a mission in a location that is virtually a paradise, or at least as much of one as Vesk society allows to persist.

Throughout much of the trip to Vesk-2, Gamuzali remains in his quarters. If asked about his reclusion throughout the trip, he simply explains that he is meditating on his place in the universe, and especially upon the balance between the energies that give shape and meaning to all that exist.

Present

During the ride with Jel aboard the hovercraft, Gamuzali remains alert, constantly scanning the horizon for threats, even though his Enforcer armor makes it difficult to tell where he is actually looking. A deep purple mote hovers just over his shoulder, and his right hand twitches occasionally.

"Whatever has escaped from this ranch, we'll be glad to assist," he assures Jel. "I don't suppose this will cut into the time we have been given to explore Trafodi, though?"

The message pops up on Gamuzali's comm screen, which is linked to the HUD in his armor. For a moment, his clawed finger hovers over the command to lower the force field as his vesk military training would have him do. He stops himself from taking that option though as he speaks his heart, first quietly to himself, then shouting aloud for his comrades and the ancient elf to hear as well. "No, not like this. By the unconquerable light of the stars and the almighty forces of the universe, I will not leave these people to suffer and perish alone. I will make my stand, and if I should fall, then I will do so to cleanse this place of the sins of my predecessors!"

Turning to look up at the stranded former Starfinder, Gamuzali calls out, "Remember this: there are those in the universe, and even within the small confines of the Starfinder Society, who will lay down their own lives to get others even a narrow chance at a better existence. Think on that. Perhaps there is a way for you to atone as well."

Yet the battle continues, and one by one, the Starfinders fall. When Gamuzali finally succumbs to the hordes of undead, the last of his stellar energy expended, he pulls off the helmet of his Enforcer armor so that his face is exposed for the first time this mission. "I am Gamuzali Light-Spider! I stole the light for myself, but now I bring the light to others! Let all who see the light know that there...is...hope!"

When Gamuzali awakes in the hospital back on Absalom Station, the first thought that comes to his mind is look down at his right arm. When he sees the arm still lined with unusually dark veins, he sighs. 'So I haven't satisfied you yet? That's fine. Soon I will, now that I have the chance, he thinks.

At the debriefing, Gamuzali provides a very matter-of-fact report to the First Seeker. It's neither his expertise, nor his place to provide interpretation or ask probing questions about the matter. That he will leave to the more learned members of the group. But one thing is certain. If he is alive and available the next time the Perplexity opens, he will be there.

Gamuzali moves forward and strikes at the green Cystian, his Meteor Claw raking across the undead monstrosity's rotten flesh.

Though Delea's magic has freed his mind from the clinging effects of the enemy's spell, his body still moves sluggishly. He moves as far as he can in the direction of the undead foes. "I will hold them off. Morvius, if you are not too busy assisting Zargothrax, I would appreciate your support. Otherwise, Ratatat could use some backup."

Double move a grand total of 20 feet because I'm still slowed, but not staggered (if I understand correctly)

Yeah, I definitely screwed up by not declaring a rest after that fight at the lodge. Oh well. Pharasma claims us all in the end, right?

Knowing Delea isn't one for words, Gamuzali simply turns and nods his thanks toward the lashunta.

"Obviously this is nothing like a vesk military op...er...a...tion..." Feeling himself dragging from the spell, Gamuzali curses to himself, then looks around for the enemy.

I don't see any enemies on the map currently. Am I missing something?
If I do spot an enemy, I'll move my full complement of 10ft toward it.

Given that we know an enemy is incoming, can I draw my solar weapon and become attuned?

Gamuzali moves in toward the fountain as well, his mote once again descending on his hand and his solar claw appearing in the air. Flames ripple along the claw as he stands watch to look out for the approaching sanguis.

Hoping I can attune. If so, I'm going to move and draw my solar weapon, then take a move action to activate my plasma sheath.

"Agreed. Let's see what our mysterious figure has to share with us."

"I assume KANT and their crew know their way around the lodge pretty well. Have you seen anything else around here that might help us put the pieces together, KANT? Another terminal maybe, or the local venture-captains office?"

Yeah, my interpretation is that the disease came from the Urgathoan temple. While exploring the complex, Tebs was infected and was in critical condition, so the rest of the team decided they could not wait long enough to come back to the base on this colony to retrieve medical supplies then return to the planet where the ruins were located, so instead they brought Tebs to be treated at the colony.

At some point, FS Lezosk sent an infiltration team to plant some sort of device and to eliminate the team responsible for bringing the infection with them to the colony.

I agree with Delea's guess that the device is somehow connected to the Perplexity. The device somehow creates a portal through space and time that transports us here.

Next steps: I think we need to encourage KANT and their crew to return to their refuge on the other side of the asteroid and gather their stuff to prepare for an evacuation with us. Meanwhile, we should seek out the hooded figure and see how they're connected to all of this.

"Hello, KANT," Gamuzali says, echoing his companions. "I am glad to see that you and your associates here were not harmed by the horde we've just had to wade through. As you can see from our insignia, we are Starfinders, the same organization that once operated this particular facility. We originally came here to investigate and seek answers about what has happened to this world. We would be glad to assist you, though, if there is any possibility for us to do so."

Gamuzali once again summons the power of energy and light into his fist as he turns and slashed twice against Orange.

Gamuzali’s claw glows brighter than the group has ever seen. He raises it high, forms a fist, and slams it down to the ground, sending a wave of fire around himself. With that done, he pulls back to threaten one of the whip-wielding undead.

Supernova (Reflex DC17 for half): 5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 5, 6) = 19

Yeah, the idea is to Supernova here soon. I'll do that on my next turn, which I suspect will take Pink down, so I can move that way and hopefully clear a bit of space so you could get in that cone. If you have to hit me to hit the crowd, though, go for it. I've got plenty of RP left.

"All according to plan," Gamuzali groans as he reels from the pair of devastating wounds in his gut. "These rotters will burn. Just give me a few more seconds..."
