![]() We are having trouble figuring out when to use this card. We understand there are some henchmen in AP2 that are barriers with the army trait, but all of the checks besides combat are more specific than wis, int, str, dex, con, and char. They have checks like melee, divine, stealth, fortitude, etc. So when can we add a d6? ![]()
![]() Oh. Okay. We didn't realize that. We played both RotR and S&S as you must attempt a check to acquire a boon. The rules state (pg 10) that you may attempt to acquire a boon, but you must attempt the check to defeat a bane. The card text on the wishing well states "At this location, you automatically succeed at your checks to acquire a boon, summon and encounter the henchman Pirate Shade Haunt, which may not be evaded." That should help quite a bit. The other issue we were having is that the villian requires another random character at another location to encounter Gholdako, which for Lirianne, is a bad thing considering all of her good weapons have ranged and with the ranged attack, he increases to a 32. However, we did manage to get around this by staying together. That just means Lini can't use her d4+2 (currently) power for combat checks, since we would be at the same location. Not to mention, 2 of the henchmen (one of them being Gholdako which can appear either from the villian or from the Ruined Ampitheater location) require you to draw 3 cards off of your deck and bury one, discard one, and recharge one. That, coupled with increased checks due to pirate shade haunts or the Ghol-Gan Ruins location (increase all banes by 3), have made this a very difficult scenario for our two characters after just one hand wipe. We have been using the Truewind ship which allows us to recharge cards from our discard pile if we discard cards from the blessings deck, but it has only kept us from dying. It has not helped us win. ![]()
![]() I've got a 2 party (Lini & Lirianne) game going. We've been doing pretty good until this scenario. We've attempted this scenario at least 4 times. Once we got close, but every time we have almost died. We've tried clearing the wishing well location with one character, but it's backfired a lot with the henchman or villain being at the very bottom. Any tips on anything we could do to get through this scenario? I've changed 4 cards from my deck just to suit this scenario (something I rarely do, because it screws me over for quite a while after that scenario). I thought perhaps others were having issues too, but I could only find two discussions on it. ![]()
![]() I'm so sad to hear that Oloch is at the bottom of the list. I fell in love with this character and his backstory as soon as I looked at the characters in the rulebook and on the character sheets. I may have to reconsider. I am planning on playing him with a 4 person group though. Any thoughts on whether that would make him worth it? I really like almost everything this character has to offer. However, if combat checks are going to be as rare as constitution checks were in RotR, I may have to change characters. ![]()

Also, I just happened upon a post on boardgamegeek that discussed the shipping issues that they were having. I was under the assumption that I would be receiving everything I was charged for until this morning. I think they thought it was ready to ship out. That was the impression I got from Vic's comment. They thought everything was okay up until close of business on Aug. 22nd when they still had no Add-On deck even though it was promised to them. ![]()

I will second this. Even though I have expressed some annoyance at how all of this has gone down, I definitely, whole-heartedly hope September is a calmer, happier month for Paizo and everyone involved in this fiasco. You all deserve it. ![]()

1) I'm not saving 20% by the time shipping cost is factored in. More like 1% (and that is with the cheapest shipping option. Without it, it would be more than paying at my FLGS). 2) Since the street date was almost 2 weeks ago, and my order still hasn't been shipped yet, I'm not holding out hope that I'll have my stuff before my FLGS. Having said that, I haven't looked at my FLGS, since I've already ordered. I'm not planning on doing ANYTHING to this subscription this month or next given the problems that have already happened. I would hate to have even more problems occur. 3) My FLGS does give out at least 1 promo with each adventure pack if not more. I keep the subscription to gaurantee I get ALL promos. That's it. I do think free shipping on either the base set or the character add-on or credit would be nice. So far, I have received no official e-mail that was rumored to be sent yesterday and nothing has been offered to the customers. I'm finding out everything through the message boards, which I find a little odd in the first place. I get that the printing company screwed up. I get that it's their fault. A promise was made to Paizo that was not fulfilled so Paizo and its customers who have not had items shipped yet by the gaurantee should get some restitution for that. ![]()

I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm one of the few people who isn't happy with Paizo's customer service, but it's not worth it for me to cancel due to the promo cards. If they had not included the 4 promo cards with this shipment, I would have cancelled. I've decided that the best way to not be disappointed is to add on two "time periods" to whatever the release date is. So in this case, it said early August, so I have been expecting to receive it in late August. My hope has always been that I would recieve it by August 30th, but I'm not sure that will happen with this set. I got nothing for complaining last time, and I'm sure I won't get anything this time. I'll just keep hoping one day they come through for me. ![]()
![]() My bf bought our first base set and the second AP. I bought the 3rd AP in stores and then had the subscription for 4th-6th AP. I also bought every promo card in the secondary market (paying $15-20 a piece) we missed not having a subscription. Then some friends wanted to play. I bought another base set of ROTR along with AP 1-4. I also buy the Pathfinder Legend CDs while waiting for my next shipment to come in. I'm very much addicted. I think that will end my buying of ROTR though, because it is not a problem to move AP 5 and AP 6 over to the other base set along with the promo cards, since he and I are done playing that one. |
