Hey everyone. It's January and I'm looking at starting to get back into my games. Things have finally settled a bit in my life so I'm going to slowly start picking things back up over the coming weeks until I am back at full speed.

Wanted to check in and see if people were interested in picking this one back up.

So with half the party leaving (as per Discord) I don't know that we'll be able to continue this one on. I am open to suggestions, but at least as of right now with all the other games I am having to catch up on I don't think I want to work on re-recruiting for this. I am open to suggestions though.

Great to see the continued interest. Will working on getting us going again very soon.

However, my wife has been really sick, last month she was in the hospital for a week and I'm sitting in the surgery center now waiting to see how things turn out on a few hour procedure she is currently in. Hey, I wanted to drop in and give all my games an update. I'm still alive, obviously, and I've managed to stay out of the hospital and off a ventilator. However, I'm still not fully recovered. Even though I'm outside my two week symptomatic/infectious period by over a week there are some lingering issues that are still weighing on me (continued shortness of breath, getting light headed, overall fatigue). I doing my best to push through it but it is barely just enough to get me through work everyday and doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. I would like to give a hard and fast "I'll be back and up to playing again by this time", but sadly at this point I can't. It could be a couple weeks or it could be a couple months for me to get used to this new (hopefully temporary) norm on top of a few other things going on.

All this to say, I'm ok, I'm trying my best to manage, but I can't give you a hard "this is when I will be back". About 3 weeks ago I tested positive for COVID and I had been struggling with it for about a week before that. I'm still alive, obviously, and I've managed to stay out of the hospital and off a ventilator. However, I'm still not fully recovered. As Nak't announces himself the dragon stirs, and blinks sleepily for a moment before its eyes adjust and takes in Nak't and the rest of the group behind him at a short distance. It glares for a moment but at least at first appearance doesn't seem to be directly hostile, but not directly friendly either as it replies. Not even having a chance to settle in after all the walking about you head upstairs to see what is going on with Setrona. When she sees you she hurries over and pulls you aside "I'm glad you came. There is a woman who has specifically been asking for you all. I set her up in one of the private rooms with some drink but she has been waiting for you all for some time. Sorry, I didn't know what else to do but I figured if she knew who you were she must be a friend of yours or something."

Kroft offers a brief smile as the group at least seems open to looking into it and begins to answer their questions in turn "I will send word out through the ranks for the guard to be on the lookout for anyone matching your description. Past that, there isn't a lot more I can do with how thinly spread we are."

"As to your investigation, that is up to you how you approach it. Obviously, if they are just incompetent or this plague is so bad they can't handle it then above board would do well. However, if there is anything more... troublesome... going on perhaps a more subtle approach would be better. At this point I honestly don't know either way, all I know is something isn't right. I hope I'm wrong and maybe this is just too much for them to handle, maybe some helping hands like your could make a difference if you could work with them directly. I just know they haven't been all that friendly or helpful with my people and this plague is only getting worse. With the other discoveries you have made I does give me pause as to if there isn't something worse going on here."

Turning to Mirela she continues "I don't know a lot about the Hospice. I do know it used to be a warehouse for the Arkona family, but at some point it was sold and now the Queen's Physicians have claimed it as their base of operations. Lots of the sick are taken there to be treated, so obviously you'll want to be cautious when investigating that you don't expose yourself too much to the plague."

The group makes their way back through town to the Citadel with Lord Carowyn in tow. As they give their report Kroft just rubs the bridge of her nose in frustration. She calls in a couple of guards to go with Lord Carowyn to see to the mess at his estate. After you are alone with Kroft she slams her fists down on her desk "Damnit all! This plague is completely out of hand. Blood veil continues to ravage Korvosa and it only seems to bring the worst out in people. The Queen's "Physicians" either simply aren’t very good at their job or are deliberately avoiding attempts to cure it for Gods knows what reason..."

She pauses a takes a deep breath as she looks to you all "Sorry for the outburst. I haven't been getting much sleep. Maybe you all could head to the Hospice of the Blessed Maiden? Check and see what they are actually doing?"
