Esi waits for the new students to pick a room and return to her, "Excellent, now to show you some of the student that are also staying here and attending classes. Anchor should be here..." she says before a young Chelish male enters from a door as you all walk by. "O' I didn't see you all, you must be the new students, welcome. My name is Ignaci," he says with a polite smile.

Esi didn't seem to mind the bird snatching some of the mango away, not even attempting to swat it away, as if in a small daze, "You can sleep outside if you don't like it here," he says taking a bite of the mango. His eyes drifting towards the strange construct of Andra's. "I apologize, though I wasn't told we would have alumni. My name is Esi, Esi Djana, a pleasure to meet you all. This is of course the Spire Dorm, where you will be staying for the duration of your learning here," she gestures you all to follow her in, Chizire not moving from his spot partially in the way as you all likely follow her inside. You go through a long hallway to a commons room at the center back of the building that connects to two more hallways. The room is very open, a beautiful mosaic pattern flanking it from both sides, with couches, tables, and cushions everywhere. A door similar to the front that you entered is there but seems to be made more into a patio. "We have six rooms available and furnished down the east hallway, but your always welcome to furnish it how you please with your own personal effects. I know plenty of students buy all sorts of furniture from the city to adorn them, a few even bringing stuff from home," she says with a smile on her face, "This is the commons room. Great for group study and game night." She points down both hallways, "On both sides are restrooms and bathrooms at the ends of the hall. I would suggest before we continue you pick your rooms. I'd like to show you to some of the fellow students that also live here." Marked in the map of the dorm will be the dorms available currently. They confer no actual benefit other than a place for rp, storage, rest locations, and the ability to brag about which one is bigger or nicer. Label your name on it and we shall continue onward.

A young woman trots out from a one-story dormitory building, shielding her head with a silk umbrella reinforced with dry reeds. Four stone spires surround and rise above the building, “You’re the new students, o? You’ll be rooming with us in Spire Dorm. Come in, I’ll show you the place,” The woman gestures with her umbrella toward the door, taking a few steps back toward the building’s welcoming, dry overhang. A catfolk sprawls beneath the eaves of the dormitory building, a sliced and sticky mango laying on a cloth on his chest. He looks up from licking the juice off his fingers, his mouth spreading into a toothy smile, “Care for some mango?” he says cheerfully while gesturing idly to the fruit, “Or if you’d prefer something to cheer you up from the rain, I have some wine brewing back in my room.” “Don’t offer them your moonshine!” Esi scolds, before addressing the heroes again, “This is Chizire. Don’t become a slacker like him.” “I don’t need to study. Amurruns have the best magic, everyone says so,” Chizire says, “Esi here is trying to run the entire school. Even playing teacher for the new students, it looks like.” Esi blows out a sharp breath, “Koride told me to get them settled. Said that handling the new students was our jo.” “Fft. Do we look like attendants to her? Not yet, we aren’t,” Chizire replies, turning his attention back to peeling the skin off another slice of mango. Esi waits for a moment before scuffing her foot at the catfolk’s tail and then stepping over him to go inside.

"Fine fine, if you must insist to know anything I was married several years ago to his master. I still have a copy of the divorce papers my lawyer served him," she says taking a step back with arms up in a means of partial surrender to the officer, "A terrible husband and a lousy drunk, but I didn't have anything to do with his supposed disappearance. If anything, he likely skipped town on the poor boy." The boy shot back, "That can't be true!" "Shut up boy. I am done here officers. I have to go through what work he has destroyed. No magic will fix that. I'll be behind on my orders for several days from his damages," she speaks, scolding the boy before going into her establishment. "Good day officer, pray that your lawyer be better than a Chelish one." She slams the door, leaving you with the young apprentice in the somewhat quiet street, the sounds merry making only a block or two away.

"There is always plenty to learn, I would understand that would rather likely be what you are here for after all. Some of you might seek knowledge, other's answers. While you may not say what it is, I trust you all have their reasons," he says. The rain began to pick up, "To orient yourself, you are free to explore the campus at leisure. The bear creature ignores the magic for the most part, withstanding the attack while it was still blinded. It even in its flailing avoided Abi's attacks, one skittering off its strong hide. This would make it easy enough for the Dwarf, Drogyn, to grapple the large creature from behind. Fading from its blindness it would screech aloud horrendously, it would try to escape the Dwarf's clutches before lashing out at him but missing. Everyone take a DC:18 Will Save or...

"Very peculiar indeed but not too uncommon. Some find that they can do without such need for assistance," he speaks, noticing the tattoo with an interested look. “At the Magaambya, we seek to understand our differences. Where others might dismiss a trait as irrelevant or troublesome, we understand that the things that make us unique in life are key to who we are as people. And it is who we are as people that defines our magic. Sometimes, it is things that are different about us, things that societies have taught us to hate, that show what our talent will be. To the north, people say that children with white or red hair have strong potential for magic. Here in Nantambu, we recognize that left-handed people are skilled at undoing spells. One student of mine is terrified of butterflies, even though he considers it ridiculous. Yet in exchange for this fear of fluttering whimsy, he has one of the most orderly minds for games and strategy that I have ever seen." “Sometimes, we do not understand our magic, and that lack of understanding causes pain. People who are uncomfortable in their own skin are incredible shapechangers but often feel unsettled until they recognize the shape they were meant to be. Those who feel an urge to jump from high places often become frightened of themselves, but they are simply channeling the untrained will to fly." “Sometimes, our talents are not revealed by happy means,” Teacher Ot face becomes somber, and he continues, “One student here had a family who planned her life out from birth to death, punishing her when she deviated the slightest bit. She only found freedom in the thought of her grave, and as a result, the dead began to speak to her. Here, she has freedom to choose her own path, but her necromancy remains strong. You don’t have to share, but I want you to ask yourselves: what about you defines you, even if others rarely notice it? Is there something inside you that pulls at you, perhaps defying rational explanation? Thus, I return to my first question: who are you, and how can that person best be guided to grow?”

Yea, don't roll against other PCs please, we aren't competing against each other. The only time should be if it's part of a gambling sort of minigame, not diplomacy. Does one with such a mechanical contraption gaze upon such sigils, does one catch your eye?" he says politely towards Andra.

Walking down the street and peering inside, you see another possible issue. Sitting amongst the now broken up aisle sat a large owlbear, chewing on gold wine-melons. It does not notice you, instead, someone else does. An elf woman looks from her hiding spot from the storage room door. Distraught, she whispers out, "Hey... help, me... this beast barged into my store... it doesn't seem to notice." The Owlbear does not seem to notice you or the grocer.

Both are telling the truth, though you feel the boy's belief seems to not be well based. Meanwhile the elven woman seems like she does know a little more than she lets on. "My masyter Kemeneles and I were both here for the festival. Said that we should split up to find a place to stay. We would meet in three days to see if we found anywhere to lodge," the young boy says, still distraught, "He never showed up, it's been two days and he didn't show up at the Heroes Fountain"

Ot smiles, "Good good, his tail is spikey, but nothing that would cause anymore trouble other than a small scratch. Otherwise, harmless," he says before letting the small snake down and letting it slither into a flower bed, "Now that we have for the most part introduced ourselves to one another let us get on with more important matters." His hands glow with a strange magic before raising his hands in the air. Symbols are conjured into the air, all different from one another. A flickering candle, a balanced scale, multipronged keys, pursed lips, an open hand with eye in the palm, and lastly a running hourglass, "Choose one if you wish." Select 1 or none. Those that don't get a +1 to saves against magic. Otherwise it is an innate cantrip you can cast at will. What they mean: Flickering Candle: The hero gains dancing lights as a primal innate spell.

Ot takes the other bird on his arm, able to hold the weight of both of them. The blue quail would hop around with Mischief, singing out in a language only birds could understand. That being of course that it was uninterested but thanked him for the dance as a loose feather feel away. It'd tweet one last time before fluttering away. "Very interesting young Curwen. I have met them awhile before, what excellent people and a great thing to see their child grow and follow in their footsteps while making their own path. Our own path here is very important, no student is a like after all." He nods to Andra while looking to the Gnome, "She is an excellent cook and I bet she will be very glad to see you." "I hope that you are all kind to snakes," he says, giving a look towards Kijani. A small skinny snake of his own slowly slithers out of Ot's clothing "Ah, why if it isn't Mr. Afram. Afram is shovel-snout snake local to the area. Utterly harmless, the only thing he bites is the small vermin in campus gardens, a service to our community. Have you all helped the community, in what way? There is no need to keep such good secret in fact, can any of you tell me what secrets Mr. Afram has?" Occult, Perception, Nature, or Medicine are relevant checks. Wild Empathy also can be used. Picture of the snake of the slides.

"No one wants to give out a name, don't be shy, you are all among good company here at Magaamby," he says watching as the automaton bursts into flames on command. He seems rather impressed by the display, happily lighting his candle, "Excellent. Your mechanical skill will surely be well received here and no doubt a subject of a good paper." "Speaking of papers, what interests do you all have. Here at the academy we strive to have our pupils grow, to pursue all varieties of paths, even those non magical. For example I love nature, especially bird watching," he says making a call. Within a few seconds a bird appears on his raised hand. "Mwangi Blue Quail, beautiful red color, I have been hearing its song all day today," he says with a warm smile, "Can any of you get a feather from it without plucking one?" Any can try to get a feather. Be creative in approach, I shall give you a relevant check if needed.

"Things have gone far crazy, animals all over the neighborhood, terrible for business and our safety, I've heard all sorts of noise coming from the grocery next door."

Abi checks the creature for anything of issue that would cause such a creature to be hostile. Naturally Rust Monsters tended to be only hostile when acted upon or when being discouraged from its favorite meal of metals. However you point out a black frothing at the mouth, something unnatural.
