Oh, I thought that regardless of higher or lower tier, if you were not within the tier, you get the out-of-tier gold. I just want to make sure that I have got it right. :) Don't want anyone accusing me of cheating.

This is what I found...

If the PC’s level is not within the subtier played (such as a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level character in Subtier 4–5), circle the Out-of-Subtier gold value...

Scott, shouldn't I be 5-6, or was I out-of tier? Fung is 6th lvl. Just noticed that I got tier 8-9 gold.

I agree, plus being a flying creature that requires solely spell or ranged weapons. If only Ayaki was blessed by the dice roller gods! ;)

Fung Xi sits quietly after the guests have been confirmed to be safe, carefully binding his wounds. He watches for any more threats from the serving staff, or invisible threats. Once he is confident that everyone is safe, the young monk excuses himself from his friends and limps off toward the temple district and the Temple of the Dawnflower...

Whew, I survived! Thanks everyone! I really need to work on getting some ranged stuff, and probably am going to invest in some cold iron sling bullets!

I was referring mostly to Diane, but I don't know how summon creatures work in terms of out of normal tactics... The griffon is a figurine, right? Hmmm... yeah, I would assume it acts like a Summoned creature as well.

EDIT: Curious, I looked up the bronze griffon. It states that it acts as a normal griffon, and under the griffon entry it states that a trained griffon is treated as having every trick listed under the Handle Animal entry. I thought that is pretty cool. I would assume that the wondrous item would be considered a trained griffon, or something comparable. I learn new things every day! ^_^

Remember that you are limited to tricks that your animal companion knows, regardless of Intelligence score. You can have it try something different by pushing the animal with Handle Animal, but the DC is pretty high.

Fung Xi drops at Kale's masterful stroke! He is dying at -4, unless she takes her second swing on him. If that is the case, he is dead.

Seeing Kale leave to attack his friends, Fung curses silently, then after taking a breath rushes to the aid of his friends!

If Kale has not snapped out of it, Fung moves to the N of Kale (in Ayaki's old spot, with 50' move, he can make it without drawing an attack of opportunity, and flanking with the griffon) and slides low...

She's only using one weapon though... Is there an increase in DC if it is a two-handed weapon?

I am curious, the evil lady does not get any DR against Oscar's spiritual weapon, does she? I only ask because the spell states that the spell does force damage... This is a ruling that I am not clear on... and maybe it will help us survive this encounter. :)

Fung spends another ki point for AC and goes full defensive again! 1/6 ki point left. AC => 31.

Fung has made it pretty clear that he feels that you should focus on dropping demon lady... He'll have a 31 AC for the next two rounds... Hopefully he won't be hit again! ^_^

Fung Xi twists and dodges the incoming attacks from his dominated friend... Is she enjoying this??? No, it is the she-demon's magic! I must remember that above all, she is my friend. "Damn it all, Al! Where are you going?!? It is another trick from that witch!"

Rolling back and forth at his waist, Fung Xi returns his focus to the deadly blade wielded by a deadlier duelist!

I thought it happened when she was speaking... By the description, it seemed that it was cast after... It's moot anyway, I don't think that Oscar hit... :p I just hope Kale doesn't kill me before you guys can drop her! ;)

Oscar orders Diane to guard him once more and Diane moves to stand just E of Oscar and readies an attack. Seeing the griffin look like there is another scent Oscar readies to send his spiritual weapon after any enemy that arrives.

EDIT: It looks like if he didn't perform an action the previous round, that this one was readied in case she is found. If this is the case, would she have take the attack while casting dominate person? If so, would this have disrupted her casting?

A moment before Kale moves in to strike, Fung realizes what is happening, "Oh, sh--"

"Argh! Kale, snap out of it!" Fung cries out as the Swordlord slashes him deeply in his side, before striking a defensive stance. He focuses on his Tan Tien and releases his chi to the chakra, "Take her down! I will keep Kale busy for as long as possible!"

Fung mimes to Faelyn, pointing to his own ears as he asks, "Can you hear me? Faelyn?"

Fung moves toward Faelyn, "Pull yourself together, man! We got you!," then turning toward the others, "Where did the other one go? Could anyone tell what kind of magic she used?"

"The typhoon from the Southern Wind tosses about the foolhardy!" Fung spins around, kicking forward at the gnome's knee!

Misjudging the gnome creature's height, the monk loses his balance, falling forward! Somehow, though, Fung manages, to place his hand at the back of the its knee to nudge its support out from under the ugly little creature!

Flurry Improved Trip 2: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 2 = 24 Better, but if it is still not enough...

Fung Xi is a mess of limbs as he spins like a whirlwind, and comes to rest on his feet, a little unsteady from the spinning!

I am fine with retconning. It will give Kale one more round on a prone gnome creature, as she would have had, and hopefully she won't kill me next round! >.<

Fung Xi kicks the knee of the gnome creature, first one...Flurry 1 Improved Trip: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 13 + 1 = 17 then the otherFlurry 2 Improved Trip: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 13 + 1 = 20... If those don't do the trick... Frustrated, the monk spins for a final sweep lifting the gnome demon's leg out from under it! Flurry 3 Improved Trip: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 1 = 28

25' is crazy for me to jump vertically, even for me... ;p Are there any ropes around? How high is the top of the roof of the gazebo?

I think Faelyn might have been the sacrifice, though he still may be involved... Fearful, is vague, but we can get a read on him after combat, unless he actually attacks us.

Lady Dyrianna's elf-boy-toy hasn't attacked, has he?

Fung Xi moves S (4 sguares) and W (5 squares) and leaps into a "superman" punch, "The earth's embrace grinds down the walls!"

When it has come up has been more in PbP PFS games, because the time constraint is much more lax.

Fung Xi was a child when he was taken to the Master of the Four Winds for training. There he met three other children, they were to be the Four Winds of the Quain. During the years they trained together, Fung became the best of friends with the others, they were almost like family.

One day when they were almost 18, his "brother", and rival to the rank of East Wind, decided that we was tired of waiting for their master to choose who would gain the right to learn from the Master's Scrolls. Confronting his brother Tsing in the Master's Hut, Fung tried hard to dissuade his best friend from this path. Soon, words dissolved into action and the two faced off against each other. Brother Tsing was always more cunning and eventually gained the upper hand. As he was about to deliver the knockout punch when the Master entered his hut.

Immediately, the two students stood at attention. "What is going on here?" the Master of the Four Winds spoke in an even and controlled voice.

Without missing a beat, Fung Xi spoke up, "Master, I was here to steal the scrolls, Brother Tsing discovered me here and tried to stop me."

There was a long silence, and Brother Tsing said nothing.

"Fung Xi, you are expelled for your insolence. You will leave immediately. Tsing, return to bed."

It is more than likely that the Master knew that Fung was lying, and possible that he felt that the young monk was ready to leave and continue his training alone, but no one truly knows. Since that day, Fung wandered, eventually ending up in Goka. While there, he stepped in to help a woman that looked like she was about to be mugged by a gang of thugs. He put up a good fight, until the advantage of numbers became too much for the young monk's skill. After being thrashed thoroughly, the woman stepped in and showed that she did not need his help.

It turned out that the woman was a Pathfinder. She brought Fung to the residence of Amara Li, who provided him with healing and direction. Now he works as a new Pathfinder...

Does Faelyn look like he's being controlled like the gnome was?

Gazebo?

Fung races from room to room within the first floor while the others come back up from the cellar, calling, "Clear!" for every room that is empty of either Orielle or scary sacrificial stuff! Listening for chanting or talking in the rooms as I approach as well.

Dora, you can use my wand, since I don't have the UMD for it. I just have it in case people have a need, so save your charges. ^_^

Was there nothing to see from our vantage-point out the window of the office where we fought the demons?

"Ayaki, be my guest, I am always more comfortable with my hands. I will be sure to keep attempting to keep our opponents off balance!"

Fung smiles, "Thank you, Dora. I didn't think we had time to spend on healing."

"The gnome was charmed somehow, and some winged lady-demons attacked us. There is a woman leading them, in the process of performing a sacrifice somewhere! The servant, Orielle, we believe..."

Looking out the window at area 13 and the stables for movement, Fung turns to the others, "I have a sinking feeling that she is back in the cellar. That is where we found the first bodies, after all..."
