Figured as such, partly why I stayed away from being a face.
Kind of a reason why my background is "Hej, I am an incredibly non-judgemental warpriest/booze-powered mercenary who is great at combat, can heal allies and thinks Lolth is a prick. Oh, I make great cocktails!"


Here is Mightypion submission, Erith, for your consideration.

She partook in a booze-based Gruumshian ritual to get telepoofed to a place where a good fight can be had, figured that Lolth can go suck herself (from her experience as a mercenary, Lolth-drow always betray mercenaries, being literally worse then demons or devils in terms of employement), and rather forcefully joined the resistance.

Roleplaying traits:
--The GM is clearly my god in disguise, therefor I shall jump a any plothook like a overeager puppy
--while I like unconventional solutions, I do not derail things too much.

What she does:
--Echo fighter War cleric, highly mobile, grapples a bit, mostly if not exclusively attacks with her bites. She gets up to 4 attacks in a turn, which ameliorates the fact that the bite is just a d4 considerably.
--Big fan of grappling someone, jumping into a chasm, releasing the grapple while falling and switching with her echo
--Likes to walk upside down on a ceiling and drop on unsuspecting enemies
--Level 7 so echo can be used to scout

Mechanical question:
--May I take "Bartending" rather then proficency at a game?

I found, as a like 3 year pathfinder veteran, that I had been using bonus spells per level wrong :).

The basic rule on page 203-204 I think is:

Taking damage. Whenever you take damage while you are concentrating on a spell, you must make a Constitution saving throw to maintain your concentration [...]

Most of the things on the web are also that you make concentration checks every time you take damage.

The 2 CRPG DND5 adaptations (Solasta and BG3) also work this way.

Of course, you are the DM and it is entirely your game to run and decide.

I was waiting on his concentration rolls to maintain darkness after Thips barrage.

Erith moves her echo to where she heard the sounds of the lich being hit, and noted that these got closer and closer towards the Lava.

She then swung wildly at the Lich from above.

If he fails, Eriths attack first 5 attack rolls are 1 (miss) 17/18/20/17 (which all hit, one via crit) for a crapton of damage.

Concerning the Lava dip:

Aceracek is grappled, therefore his movespeed is zero. As Such I am fairly certain this Lava dipping attempt would not work. Given that Eliora could, at half of her movespeed, dunk him into the Lava, he would be well advised to stay the hell away from it.
He can end his flight as a free action I guess (but iirc Eli was above the balcony).

If you would rule of cool that he tries, Eliora can move aceracek around at half her remaining movespeed, and would probably use this to get on top of him.

Oh, Erith can AoO from her Echo. Forced movement, such as Eliora moving Aceracek beneath her, does not provoke, but the dipping attempt most certainly would.

More importantly, if I count correctly, he used 3 legendaries (fireballs), an action to escape from the grapple (failing), and then wished, which i think is one action too many.

Edit: I misread, I thought the dex save was an attempt to get free of the grapple.

Also, I dont really know 5e wish rules, but I think gibbering madness is still concentration, even if cast via wish?

Also, does he ever make concentration checks to keep his flight up?

As if temporarily benefitting from Roeganjoes fire resistance, Erith takes suprisingly limited degrees of damage.

Erith takes 38 points of damage, with 30 of these being taken up by her temp hp barrier, putting her to 20.

Need to get into discussion

Erith pretends to cower, but stays within 10 feet of the sphere and 30 feet of her echo (and nobody else I hope)
Mathematically, this is probably possible,especially if Eliora uses the rest of her move to drag Mr. Bonyface around. In absence of a 3d map (not that I would expect one lel) its hard to do though. I think the sphere is one of his least damaging things, so I would rather he burn actions at that!

Do our spellcasters have silence? I believe its 60 feet range, and I think counterspell has a range of 30. That would seem like a good idea imho.

I am also pretty sure that I got some hits in, including a crit, so Mr. Boney needs to do some concentration.

@GM Player knowledge is that Mr. Boney was a half Balor before becoming a Lich. Can I claim that Roeganjoe beat up Mr. Boneys Balor-dad for lunch money? I think Erith is going to get nuked anyway next turn, may as well go out trashtalking!

I can Attack of opportunity through the echo once he moves out of her range, which I think he does.

@Elly I think you had 40 temp hp when Anorak nuked, and you get 30 temp hp at the beginning of your turn, meaning you are probably at 21 (51 effective) rather then 11.

The echo would get the effect, although it would have to be targetted specifically for it. Erith certainly would not.

Something else to consider is that the Echo can benefit from flanking, but does not provide a flank.

As a pre mortem, I definitly did mistakes! Trying to grapple the Lich didnt work (was thinking pathfinder where getting grappled would be a much bigger deal for a spell caster) and could have instead been used for one more full attack turn. Also, I think none of us have utility items should has healing potions which definitly would have been of use here haha. That I didnt invest in + Save items at all is also my fault :).

Wow, one roll above 10, and I am nearly 100% certain that one roll didnt hit either.


Thinking what to do with my probably last move action. Dont think that moving into the black sphere thingmajit is a cunning plan, and I definitly need to be 30 feet away from everyone, while maintaining 30 foot to the echo, ideally. The chain lightning hit 2 more targets, so thats another level 8 spell gone. Probably game over soon, he does hit the entire party for 90ish DPR per turn.

Thankfull, his damage got fully absorbed by the 40 temp hp, (which I aquired last turn, but I think after his paralyze + shocking grasp attempt), so I am still at 61 + now refreshed 40. Good thing Echo Knights are the melee martials were teleporting doesnt quite solve your problems

I currently dont have my echo up, so it is at least 2 turns before I can do something in terms of "Switch places with echo, Contested Grapple Erith vs Tentacle over who hugs Anorak".

I am however guessing that my 8 attacks are gonna force out Anoraks reaction for cast shield, so he should not have another one to counter spell what you could potentially do to get out of the tentacle.

Pelt thip with magic missles until he rolls a 20? (he gets a saving throw when he takes damage, but probably not once per missle?)
Maybe the Cleric or the Paladin got something?
Erith is out of Thips sight and is trying to remove Mr. Lich by force ventilating his cranium.

Hmm, Thip gets a new saving throw whenever he takes damage, unpractical for me to achieve but someone could magic missle him?
Thing is, he is still only going to save against these on a 20.

Alternatively, hold person/dominate/charm person etc. on Thip to joink control of the toothpick dispenser back?

If it comes from mike, whom he is not fighting, yet, Thip should not get advantage.

Or hold person?

Or disarm him, thats what I do with toothpick dispensers if I am GMing :).

Dear Erith, as someone with about as much experience in terms of dominate monster as that Lich has, assuming he cast it as a spell, then getting his head cleaved in two would greatly challenge his concentration in regard to maintaining his spell. I am certain you are well equipped to make the best use of this humble suggestion my dear.

Actually, Thip does go before the Lich, which he did, then the Lich dommed him. Meaning I can full attack the Lich and try to make him lose Con right?

I dont have remotely enough movespeed on the echo to actually get behind him so:

Echo moves to the balkony, stopping its movement on it.
Erith switches places with the Echo, moves 5 feet towards the lich, sheaths her greatsword and grapples the Lich!

If she suceeds, she uses her last 10 feet of movement to shove the Lich unto his own black sphere!

She then bites him thrice!

So, here is Eriths cunning plan:

Free action: Echo flies up to the Lich, past the black sphere (without touching it) hoping to get behind the the lich.

I do not know if the echo can just fly up to the Balcony there or if theere is something stopping that.

Bonus action: Erith switches places with her echo, having her real form appear behind/next to the lich, with 15 movement to spare.

I do not know if there are "no teleportation effects" on the balcony.

Interaction action: Erith Transfers her greatsword to her left hand (cannot attack with it, but I think its a free action to change the grip back later, gives me one free hand for the grapple)

Pretty sure this is legal (but I may confuse it with PF1E), can also sheath the weapon which definitly would be.

Action: Erith attempts to Grapple the Lich (first attempt), and then bites 3 times. If the grapple succeeds:

Move action: Using 10 feet of her remaining movement, Erith moves the hopefully grappled Lich unto the black spinning sphere.

Exactly how does this work rulewise? As far as I know, grappling in 5e is a contested Athletics roll. It can grapple in place of an attack, but thats with its athletics vs mine, my AC does not feature into it. I am rolling athletics anyway, which would be either to not get grappled in the first place or to escape the grapple

Meanwhile, standing in place while her echo does all the work doesnt sit quite right with Erith, as she moves eastward, hops on the wall and the proceeds to wall run (constant spider climb without needing hands because Dhampir) towards the entrance of the right chamber.
He echo stays put, and uses her movement to phantomime YOU SUCK at the Atropal.

@GM what would I hav to do to get in? I am currently seeking to get in and smesh the mechanism from there. Edit: I cant effing read!.

I am kind of guessing it will do something about Eriths cheecky echo on its turn, but I can just summon a new one (just one attack less).
Dont see a big reason for me to move to the lava.
