As much as I would like to participate in this amazing RP, I'm kind of in a bind and unable to post as often as you guys are. Once a day, maybe more, is my limit. Morphling, if you're interested in seeing my RP style with Barbarian Emilio, check out the "previous" RotR campaign he was in here. You can seem my general RP skill as his previous incarnation as a Cleric of Iomedae mascarading as a follower of Zakarune over here.
Say Hello to Emilio Cross. Originally a Cleric for another game that died, I changed him to a Barbarian for a second game that never took off. Now, he is as you see him, Half-Orc, barbaric, and ready to rise these runelords...or something... I played through part of RotR already with another group, so this shouldn't change much. Thankfully, he's almost complete as is, just need a few slight changes for the house rules. RP Example:
As the tall, toned, green-skined creature stands before you, you can tell he is sizing you up before you even get within spitting distance. He wears a large cloak which you can tell he took off of a corpse, the dried blood and large slice in the back still evident. On his back is a large greataxe, blood from his last kill dried to the blade.
When he gets closer to you, you see his wild black hair and his protruding tusks. He's no Orc, but he's no human either. As he speaks, his voice is surprisingly calm and collective for such a large man. "I am Emilo Cross. I seek passage into the northern lands. Can you assist me?" Backstory:
Emilio was born into a tribe of Orcs far to the south. His mother, a female used for breeding and trading, was never there for him as a kid, and at the early age of 3 he was introduced to the creature he would call his father. His father, a warrior called "Bloodstainer" in the common tongue, was one of the stronger warriors in the tribe, and as such, Emilio had a lot to live up to. He never made it, even as his inner rage at being a half-breed allowed him to overthrow his higher ups, granting him power in the tribe.
As a final right of passage, he was given the opportunity to raid another tribe. It was during this raid that he was given the opportunity to take out the Tribe Chief. Emilio took the offer with pride, easily breaking into the Chief's tent and slaughtering him where he stood. As his adrenaline drained, Emilio saw the Orc he had slain at his feet. He tasted the blood on his lips, and recognized the taste. A journal, found in the Chief's coat and written in Common, explained the whole story. The Orc he killed, known as Bangstick the gunsmith, was his real father, and the woman he called his mother was Bangstick's wife, captured while she was pregnant with Emilio. Emilio turned on his own tribe, leaving them, hoping they would think he died in the raid. He took the holy symbol from around his real father's neck, hoping to discover its meaning, along with his heavily armored coat. He headed north, finding his way to Sandpoint, where his next adventure would begin... Let me know what you think! EDIT: I don't plan on making the changes to his character sheet just yet. If his previous game starts back up, I'll still want that version of him.

Too much noise. He stands, leaving his flagon of whatever-that-was, and promptly heads outside. Outside, the night air and lower noise level make him more at ease. He breaths a sigh of relief, his muscles no longer aching. Looking down, he realizes he's got on a fairly heavy coat and no shirt. He has seen a few men in town without shirts, but they are avoided. Maybe he should take a bit and see if there is a stall still open that would sell him some decent clothing. Assuming he can find an armor stall or something, the following takes place. If not, ignore this spoiler. If this does come to pass, I'll change my equipment and stats to match.
Emilio's Shopping Trip: As he looks around, he finds a suit of armor that is a series of six sided pieces of steel woven into a shirt. Another suit of armor is a set of leather strips layered over each other. Clever working... Maybe the shop owner recognizes him and will get him a discount? If I get a discount, I'll make a decision on armor based on the available discount. Otherwise, I'll get a suit of Kikko armor to be worn under my father's armored coat.

Kinda want to move on with the story, if that's ok with you guys. I was trying to see if I'd see Allie and her scandalous actions, maybe get some roleplay into it. If I saw her take the money or figure out she was trying to, I'd hold her still, take the money, and give it back. Grapple: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Meets it. Official rules say she's grappled, but GM can say otherwise.
Allie's Unarmed Swing: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 That hits on the nose!
Emilio's Retaliation Swing: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9Allie has no Dex to AC Swing and a miss! And that's how that would play out. Maybe. My original point being this is kinda slow. Perhaps we can have something else happen? Or have someone think they can arm wrestle me or something?

He's also only ever seen Orcs, Humans, and himself as a half-breed, so the idea of someone living well over 100 years and calling themselves "middle-aged" is something of a mystery to him. The long ears and big eyes are also kinda strange.

At this low a level, most of the effects would be severely debilitating, but higher up they wouldn't be too bad. Would we allow Called Shots? They do small things like blind for a bit, slow movement speed, simple stuff. It would be very theatrical, but this low a level, if a Critical Hit is made in a called shot, things get very bad. Thankfully, the Debilitating Blow won't be in affect until we have more than 100 hp. Your call, you're the GM.

Example: Emilio charges in, swing like a madman and takes out two enemies in one swing. His bloodlust raising, he quickly....stands with his axe ready to defend himself, wasting his bloodlust for a round... Whatever GM decides is how it'll go. @Allie: I myself believe that the Rogue, an offshoot of the Thief class from 1.0, should follow some of the same priciples. Sure, you could have a Robin Hood character and have them only steal when nesessary, but where's the fun in that? However you play the character is how you play the character. Being that Emilio has a slightly skewed view of right and wrong, he might see you doing some good, even if you just keep potions around just to smell them. And don't you know, you never let that damn Thief out of sight? Emilio's Mentality on Loot: Emilio also believes in the tribal mentality that loot from a raid or attack is split among the party, the member that actually grabs the loot or spots the ambush or what-have-you getting first choice for the loot, and then everyone else getting an equal share.
In this case, we'd each get 5 gold and Allie would keep the potion. That's how he sees it. And he's more than willing to put his blade to the test to make sure that is what should happen.

Kinda makes you wonder why that rogue talent is even included, if you can put your weapons away in the first place, even when being watched.

Str 19, Con 22, Fort +8, Will +3, AC 14/10/12, HP 22, +5 Melee To Hit, +6 Damage Greataxe Just a thought, GM, one of my other campaigns with maps has the map link in the mini-info of the campaign. For this one, that's where you put "Sandpoint needs heroes, be that hero!" Since updates go to the one google doc, that link will always be the most accurate link instead of having to search for one.

Str 19, Con 22, Fort +8, Will +3, AC 14/10/12, HP 22, +5 Melee To Hit, +6 Damage Greataxe I just double checked something, and while it looks good as an out of combat post, you might want to know about this: It states the following: Deft Palm (Ex): A rogue with this talent can make a Sleight of Hand check to conceal a weapon while holding it in plain sight, even while she is being observed. Checking the Sleight of Hand skill, we find the following: When you use this skill under close observation, your skill check is opposed by the observer's Perception check. The observer's success doesn't prevent you from performing the action, just from doing it unnoticed. So while it was pretty cool to see you have those daggers disappear, you kinda did it wrong. Just a heads up for later, thought, you'll be so awesome Ezio Audetori will be jealous.

Str 19, Con 22, Fort +8, Will +3, AC 14/10/12, HP 22, +5 Melee To Hit, +6 Damage Greataxe Seeing more enemies, Emilio stands back up, shakes his head to clear himself of his fatuige, and quickly moves up to attempt to face his newer challengers. How many rounds has it been since the end of the last combat? Just making sure I can go into a Rage if need be. Drawing his weapon as he runs, Emilio rushes forward letting out another yell to try and draw the attention of the newer enemies. Moving 30ft straight down so he's in their line of sight. I'll roll an Intimidate just for the hell of it. Do I get a bonus for being covered in the blood and guts of their allies? Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 If it means anything, +2 since I'm larger than them.

Str 19, Con 22, Fort +8, Will +3, AC 14/10/12, HP 22, +5 Melee To Hit, +6 Damage Greataxe Emilio accepts the healing, but at just the last moment, he grabs Lera's wrist and pushes it away, the healing light slowing before the healing is complete. His chest heals, but a scar is left in place of the wound. "Next time you heal me, leave a scar." He's already covered in scars, but he wanted another one. "Each scar, a memory. Each memory, a lesson. Each lesson, a stronger man I become." He picks up his blood-soaked coat, putting it back on as he slings his greataxe back onto his back. He no longer has a shirt on, but for a half-orc with a greataxe, it doesn't look bad. Thank you for the healing. The scar thing is just roleplay, but consider it for when you heal him in the future. He walks back over to Ruby, kneeling so he can get to her level. "Are you hurt?"

Str 19, Con 22, Fort +8, Will +3, AC 14/10/12, HP 22, +5 Melee To Hit, +6 Damage Greataxe Better than Team Edward or Team Jacob, that's for sure! That wasn't a dated reference, was it? Would Team Sam or Team Dean work better?
