There are about 5 pages of weapon tables in the 7th ed book. If that helps. Picking a category at random there are 12 different rifles (though that is across all eras). 3 pages of price lists for 1920s.

There is also an entire chapter on chases, including some simple vehicle stats.

Non-weapon/vehicle gear has never really had stats or much description in CoC as far as I'm aware, it just does whatever it does for the most part. For just prices it's not that difficult to google or image search for 1920s catalogues.

Actually I realise I already have a character written up from the previous short lived adventure. I'll probably re-use this profile and adjust her to fit the 1920s (originally designed for a Victorian game), once we have some actual creation guidelines.

NB: This is spinningdice.

Eloise

"I'm not sure, but something caused a shared dream - I'm not sure how many were affected, but at least myself and my companions.
[TAG Howie]

"Can any of you gentlemen pick a lock?" Eloise calls out louder.

Eloise

The first time I ever ran Cthulhu, it worked, there was a palpable creepiness in the room and the players got really into it. In all the time since, I've never got close to recreating that sort of success since.

Eloise

Int(60): 1d100 ⇒ 16
"Thats...from the dream." Eloise breathes, and regains her composure "Perhaps my dear, you could see fit to explain what is going on - and quickly."

I assume that there's not much laying around, but Eloise will glance around to see if there's any way the door can be secured.

Eloise

Eloise' ears prick up and she elects to follow MacKenzie.

Eloise

I've seen those books, never got around to picking them up.

Eloise

Eloise was not in the least prepared to do battle, she had no weapon, and these rough men were presumably better at fisticuffs than she was.

After a seconds hesitation she moves to aid the police officer, poking at him with her umbrella and trying to force him off-guard.

Trying to distract him, CoC doesn't appear to have any explicit rules for aid another / distract / etc, and I'm not sure what skill would apply, opposed POW to give him disadvantage on his next attack? maybe - if you'd rather I can just make an attack?

D% roll, if required: 1d100 ⇒ 23

Eloise

As part of my busy weekend, I attended the Leeds Steampunk market last Sunday, which was interesting. My love of Steampunk has always been from afar previously...

I am now familiar with the rules of tea or coffee duelling, have about a dozen business cards for steampunk businesses and am planning to attend their next event with more elaborate costuming.

I only wish I had the wherewithal to have taken more pictures.

Poor unprepared Eloise, if only she'd studied this Umbrella combat

Eloise

It suddenly occurs to me that I never specified any equipment...
Eloise stands defiantly. "You would destroy buildings containing innocent women and children in the name of preventing the oppression of humanity - humanity appears to be what you lack, you blackguards." she shouts loudly at the ruffians.

Eloise

From the pages of 2000AD, Devlin Waugh, the renowned homosexual vampiric vampire slayer, nominally in the same setting as Judge Dredd. It's really quite a bizarre read. I used to be an avid reader of 2000AD in the 90s

Eloise

Eloise leans in to whoever's closest (maybe Ms Covington), "Is it just me or is that the girl you were dreaming of too?"

Eloise

Oh, Welcome and Farewell then.

Does your Avatar intentionally look like Devlin Waugh? Or is that just my passion for semi-obscure comic book characters showing through?

Eloise

[TAG Ms Clocksworth / Ticket Man]

"Well, I may as well have tickets for our entire party - there are six of us, thank you."
She looks at the man in the ticket booth appraisingly.
"Are there any highlights of the exhibition? ... or anything strange reported."

Eloise

Eloise purchases a bag of popcorn, and idly watches the preacher, while keeping half an eye on the barrel-organ, she's not sure she's entirely ready to believe that machines are attacking people, but best to proceed with caution. The futility of this when they are about to enter an exhibit hall presumably full of machines is not lost on her...

[tag Ms Clocksworth]

Eloise

"Well, I'm willing to follow this rabbit hole at least a little further. Did you have any further plans or are you just walking around looking for further murders? I'm afraid I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief enough to try and destroy a Museum exhibit, just yet."

Eloise

Apologies for the quiet weekend, had unexpected guests, and I've been struggling with Paizo site, don't know if it's their end or mine, or maybe something is thrashing in R'Lyeh and scrambling the connection across the Atlantic.

Eloise

Eloise lets the gentlemen talk to the newcomer, she cannot think of anything to add at the moment regardless.
She instead studies the newcomer. Psychology(30): 1d100 ⇒ 98

Eloise

Tag Tom, Phaedra
"If anyone has any thoughts on the situation I'd be pleased to hear them. I think I'm going to have nightmares about being eaten by ovens for weeks." Eloise tries desperately to sound light-hearted

Eloise

"If you'll excuse me gentlemen, I think I need a breath of fresh air." Eloise places to poker back where she found it and makes her way to the door of the hotel.
She glances around the street to see if anyone is watching and takes some deep breaths - London air may be somewhat filthy, but not more so than the realisation that investigation of this matter may mean more than thrilling tales and dashing rogues.
Spot Hidden: 1d100 ⇒ 46 Just in case

Eloise

Sorry, I didn't look at the listen spoiler, I was still going on the "you thought you saw it move" response from first entering the room - she's not actually expecting the Stove to react to being poked. I did initially screw up the text on the Listen roll and it decided to roll 100 d6s instead, can't remember if I posted then edited it or previewed then edited it

Tag: Angus/Miss Clocksworth
From the map I believe there's another exit to the courtyard? Just to the right of where we came in. I'm not sure what the status is on other ways out.

Eloise

I actually failed my spot hidden by quite a margin, I don't know if you intend for me to read the spoiler or not?
Listen(50): 1d100 ⇒ 91

"SHH" Eloise loudly shushes the others as she grabs a poker a tentatively pokes the stove to see if it reacts.

I passed my Sanity test, honest!

Eloise

Sanity(80): 1d100 ⇒ 63 -1San
Eloise bursts into the room, and after glancing at waitress turns aside, hand covering her mouth, "That's hor..." she barely starts her sentence before noting the stove.

She glances around the room searching for a poker or other solid looking stick while trying to keep the stove in her field of view.
Spot Hidden(25): 1d100 ⇒ 58 If necessary

Tag Ms Cogsworth/Dead Waitress/Stove

Eloise

Eloise dashes towards the Kitchen as quickly as she can manage without tripping up over her skirts

Eloise

"Your dream sounds the same as mine, though it's worth noting that my clothes changed... I should have tried to find a mirrored surface. Maybe my face was different - but I recognised all of you so probably not." Eloise flushes slightly "Sorry, I should may be have thought that through before speaking."

Tag Tom, mostly

Eloise

Tag Atum
"We were, in a quite literal sense, plunged into the belly of a great machine. Maybe it's linked, or maybe one of us will recognise something.
Also it gives us time to get to know one another better, before we track down these other people who have had experiences with crazy machines."

Eloise

Tag: Tom Wiggs
"If someone is playing a game with us, then I am not wise to it. I personally have no-where better to be, so I am inclined to pursue this - game or not, I can say nothing for your own priorities, though I'd welcome your company if you would like to investigate with us." Eloise maintains a cheery demeanour, though she worries if there's an undercurrent of anger in the young man.
For all her training she's never actually been in a fight before if he does start anything.

Eloise

"Perhaps we should attend the museum exhibit? At worst it costs us a morning and a few pennies, and something of use may be revealed? I'm sure a morning spent looking at mighty machines, with such fine company will not be a complete waste, in any case."

Eloise

No idea what the comic it's tied to is like, the cover came up on a pinterest binge.

Eloise

Dream-Self?

Eloise

"Both I think, puzzles usually tend to have pieces do they not? and I'm hardly an investigator - I just have a little too much time on my hands."

Eloise

Eloise will take the offered seat gratefully.
"Oh please, Captain, we have known each other for all of what? A half hour?" Eloise smiles at the two others, with apparent genuineness.

"Take a seat, let's see if we can fathom this puzzle."

Eloise

Eloise finally arrives at the hotel, and finds most everyone from the dream already gathered.
Well, lingering thoughts on the dream just being a dream are dashed then.
"Well, I presume that you all dreamt of me last night... wait that didn't quite come out as planned." she smiles slightly.
"While we ruminate on what all this means, anyone for cake? Scones?"

Eloise

Hmm I typed a reply earlier and it didn't seem to take... or maybe I just got distracted before I actually hit Submit. Either way I apologise.

Eloise

Eloise will light a candle and find a clock, what time is it?

That wasn't just a dream, surely - I need to find the rest of those people again

Eloise

Is the maw of the machine full of more things likely to squash and grind us after the hammer or is there a little breathing room behind the hammer, if we try and time to run past it?

"You misunderstand me sir, I really have no idea what's going on. I'm grasping at straws to distract myself and hoping to find some rules that apply"
A small part of her wonders if she should have pretend to know more than she did, it might have reassured the others.

Eloise

Sorry, fiddling with Avatars, wasn't happy with the one I had, not that happy with this one either.

I've also added a link to my dropbox character sheet version (think that should be viewable), in my profile.

Realised I'd taken Ride twice, so I swapped one of them over to Psychology (which is effectively sense-motive and is not psychoanalysis - for those not familiar with CoC conventions).

Eloise

Sanity: 1d100 ⇒ 39

Mechanical Repair? (10): 1d100 ⇒ 73

"How about we assume that we're all having some sort of group dream, maybe we're" Eloise laughs "soulmates or something"

"Working on the theory that we are not in a normal dream, how about we also suspend the idea that we are immune to harm here - and act accordingly - better safe than sorry after all"
Eloise' demeanour has become oddly giddy, it may be bizarre circumstance but it's still an adventure right?

Eloise

"I was going to ask you the same question, but since we both... all? think we are the ones dreaming" Eloise glances around for confirmation "then perhaps something more is going on."

Eloise's train of thought is interrupted by the droning noise and she turns to face the new strangeness.

Eloise

To say there's so much steamwork art/cosplay out on the internet it's hard to find the the right picture when you have an image in your head.

Try This? with a less feathery hat/fascinator. More like this
Brass things hanging from hooks/straps on the corset, like pocketwatch, some sort of electro-cog-powered torch, spare pair of goggles, a windup toy that looks like one of the mini-clanks from Girl Genius.

And a parasol/umbrella rifle, like the one here

Meant to post some reference pics yesterday, but a simple search wasn't getting me what I wanted and I got frustrated.

If it's a problem editing potentially useful items to my dream-self then just ignore those bits.

Eloise

POW: 1d100 ⇒ 10
Eloise looks around and glances down at herself, paling slightly at the odd clothing. She couldn't be in public like this... wait no, it has a dream quality about it here. Is she dreaming, these people look familiar...

"Are you real people?"

Eloise

Eloise blinks, "Oh sorry, I just assumed you were a c... never mind. A spot of tea sounds delightful.
Eloise spends a moment assessing the couple Int: 1d100 ⇒ 55- the young lady appears to be of reasonable stock and demeanour - the gent appears well bred and perhaps military training - or is that just how the Scottish are? Regardless, she doesn't believe either pose a threat

Eloise

Huh? I'm in the UK, though I've been using a VPN for various things so I might have left it turned on...

Eloise

Eloise turned the corner, she'd just stepped out of her cab to get a breath of fresh air and the blasted thing had deserted her.
Seeing a friendly(ish?) looking couple standing outside a local Inn Eloise endeavours to get their attention.
"Excuse me, I appear to have... um misplaced my cab, I haven't seen one for a few minutes do you happen to know where I might be able to find another?"

Eloise

About to have dinner and take my daughter to brownies, then I'll have a proper read through and get up to speed.

Eloise

Sorry, I'm here. For some reason wasn't checking this thread as much as I should be.

A Phaedra? not born with a mote in your eye perchance?

Raconteur, I can work with that Fast Talk bonus: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 x5=+30

Do we need to tie out characters together at all, because we're quite a disparate bunch, or is there going to be throwing random misfits together in the intro?

EDIT: Oops Wrong Alias

Why not, 1d6 ⇒ 5 1d20 ⇒ 8
Also it appears the one roll you do have to make in character creation is Luck 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) = 13

EDIT: Also updated profile with some background, just kind of slapped it down on the page, so I'll re-read it after work and probably cringe a bit and re-write.

Nixie, I didn't realise it was you. That game was a lot of fun.

Slapped some numbers onto my profile, from the quickstart rules, are there any different skills in Gaslight, can't think of anything off the top of my head.

May well swap some numbers around, her combat skills may be a bit too high at the moment. Though she needs some as she styles herself an adventurer and practices such things.

Need to extract background from head to profile, change the avatar and maybe pretty things up a little.

Eloise could have a butler/chaperone, if you want a target Aptinuviel her family are wealthier than she is and force her to live at a lower level of luxury (only 60 credit rating - almost a pauper really) until she finds a suitable husband. If the family could have someone keep an eye on her it would fit quite nicely (the original version of this character in tabletop had an npc maidservant, with a fair few thief-type skills). But it's up to you.

I've not played 7th but have played various incarnations from 3rd - 6th.

If I may I'd like to make a version of my repeatedly reincarnated Cthulhu Character Miss Eloise Cartwright, heiress and adventurer.

I can't download the newer rules where I am, but will endeavour to take a look shortly.

We also usually play Cthulhu with a whole bunch of house rules on the tabletop, so I'll have to try and clear my mind as to what are actual rules.

EDIT: Just realised I've already claimed the name, though the profile is for a Cthulhutech version...

pennton has not participated in any online campaigns.
