Eldon stumbles back, his lifeblood gushing freely from the deep shoulder wound. His arm wasn't working very well, he doubted he could lift the scythe properly to wield it as a weapon. His mind growing foggy, Eldon focuses on defending himself for the moment...

5ft Step Back, total defense action for a total AC of 20.

Bravely (and perhaps foolishly as well), Eldon charges in, spinning his reaping tool expertly and bringing it to bear on the chest of his opponent the rider.

Scythe attack (/w Charge), AC 14 until next turn: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

As Eldon takes in the sight of the man cowering behind the barrel, he makes a snap judgment to discard any notion of surprise they might have over to the goblins and instead attempts to draw their attention away from him as a potential target and towards the armed group.

"Cowardly beasts! Old Deadeye will see you ended, you stupid curs!" he cries striking a pose in an attempt to make himself appear larger.

"Of course Sheriff Hemlock. You have my blade at your beck and call." Eldon replies crisply to the Sheriff in charge of the community's safety, and takes a step towards the north gate of the town, before wincing. Glancing about and not seeing the good Father coming to his aid, Eldon enacts his own divine blessings, calling forth Erastil's guidance and protection on this Hunt.

NOW casting CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Eldon sighs slightly with relief after his wound closes up, taking a moment to silently offer a prayer to Erastil, thanking him for his blessings, and promising in return a successful Hunt. He then hurries after this allies towards the North Gate.

Eldon's quick reflexes ensure that the somewhat wild blow of his ally does not interfere with him, and he will attempt to step around to flank the last remaining goblin. Eldon winces as pain shoots through his wounded arm, he once again pulls the scythe to bear and swings at the goblin.

5ft step to flank if possible, otherwise will simply attack. +2 bonus from flank included in the attack roll (-2 on total if not able to flank)
Scythe (/w Inspire Courage & Flank): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 24 Damage: (1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7)

Seeing Reda affected by some wicked magic, the grim-faced Halfling rushes to the aid of his enchanted ally if possible, though he knew that he might not be able to. He knew his arm was bleeding badly and would need to be tended shortly, but the hunt had to be finished first.

Swinging at closest goblin threatening Reda (if Eldon can move), or the one nearby, which.

Eldon nods, ceasing his casting as the Father comes over to heal them with his Divine blessings. Eldon bows his head a moment to thank the gods for their intercession, before the explosion nearby causes him to look up.

"Thank you, Father, I believe we shall. That explosion will likely attract more of the creatures. They seem to have a love of Fire."

Eldon then watches the halfling who had met him this morning run off towards the stables. "Then again, there are others who need help and protection. Cale, can you make sure the Ordered Warrior doesn't get himself killed, please?" Eldon suggests, pointing out Flint, seeing that Reda was taking care of practical matters.

In short order, Eldon is off after Fulito, jogging after the happy-go-lucky halfling while keeping a watchful eye for goblins.

With Reda's blade buried deep in the goblin's chest, Eldon is left without a target to fight, glancing around and seeing only unconscious or dead goblins left. His clicks the butt of his scythe onto the ground, the weapon unbloodied somewhat to the halfling's shame.

"There may be others, we should keep aware." Eldon says simply before looking at Cale, wincing slightly at the wounds.

"Allow me to heal you of your wounds, Cale. It was brave to come to the fight, even if both of us came for naught. It seems that the good Sir and Lady," motions here to Flint and Reda as appropriate. "Are skilled with their blades, and have saved the day, and many lives beside."

If Cale will allow it, Eldon will then cast Cure Light Wounds on him: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 HP returned.

Flank is difficult without a map, since we have no clue where anyone is.

Lol!

Well one goblin is on a table, one is asleep and one is beside reda,

Say: "I move to flank the goblin with reda" and you both have +2 vs that goblin

Right, but I don't know if doing so will provoke AoOs (which are very dangerous at this level). I'm fairly certain Eldon would provoke one if he went off to flank with Reda (plus, Eldon /was/ going to summon something to flank with, but Cale needed help right away).

Seeing Cale take several painful hits, Eldon abandons his immediate thought of attempting to ensnare or distract the attackers and goes on the offensive, charging towards the goblin who had struck the wielder of the arcane, bringing his scythe down hard on the goblin, using all the strength in his small body.

My current plan is to cast Entangle to attempt to prevent the goblins further attacking the villagers, but it is a 40ft radius spell, and I won't cast it if it will prevent innocents from fleeing the scene. Please advise if this is a good idea, as we do not have a battle map for me to determine this myself.

As soon as the first scream rent the air, Eldon's meal lay abandoned as the halfling had retrieved his tool/weapon and began padding silently along towards the horrible noises, wracking his brain to if he could remember what creatures made sounds such as that.

Staying as much in cover as possible, Eldon surveys the scene. He was now both hunter and guardian, and his prey would regret what they had done.

When the weasal is first produced, Eldon looks annoyed at best, especially when the word 'pet' is mentioned, but he does not intrude on the conversation, choosing instead to listen. It was not his place to judge others after all. What he did not like was others forcing their choices on the natural world - defenseless animals in particular. However, Cale's weasel did not seem like a captive, but more like a companion.

He continues his meal quietly, deciding not to impose his choice on the conversation, seeing as how it had drawn to an end.

"I am simply called Eldon Underbough." The somber halfling says modestly, feeling little need to embellish his name as the others had. "Have all of you come to Sandpoint for the festivities? I had not though that our small town was such a draw. Magnimar is just down the road though, and I suppose they bring in all sorts." There is a touch of distaste about Eldon's tone when speaking of Magnimar.

Eldon finishes his prayer - even after Fulito had greeted him, he still takes another few moments in silence with his head bowed before he raises it. "Hobbit?" he asks curiously... he had never heard halflings be called such. "No, I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with Whistledown. I have lived my whole life in and around Sandpoint. Is Whistledown inside Varisia?" Eldon inquires politely as he begins his modest meal with measured politeness, obviously in no hurry to stuff himself. "I am not a priest, no, but I am pious. Old Deadeye is a worthy deity, and he has rewarded my piety with divine blessings which I share as I am able. My name is Eldon Underbough." the halfling says simply.

"I trust you are enjoying the festival?" he asks after a moment and a bite.

The nearby taverns and bakery, as well as the butcher and other townspeople have chipped in to bring a modest though large fare.

Eldon finds a seat near to the end of the table close to the butcher's shop, watching the elf and human make their way to assist the man.

He doesn't say anything, but the somber halfling does sit at the table and bow his head in prayer.

As is apparently his M.O., Eldon continues to watch and enjoy the festival from outside, enjoying seeing others happy rather than being in and among the crowd himself. He does wish that Bira was here with him for companionship, but it would be unwise to bring her here. Too many people and she tended to become territorial.

Unless compelled by the villagers to join in the merriment personally, Eldon will continue to enjoy the festival in his own way: by watching others be joyful and happy.

Eldon's generally serious demeanor does not lend itself well to the festival, but he does smile occasionally at the talk of the completion of the new church and at a few of the stories Cyrdak had told, but in general the halfling remains quiet and removed from the crowds, preferring to watch the joy from outside and so experience the same joy himself that their community was strong and full of life. He plays none of the games. He especially notes with some approval the actions of a few of the people who are not residents of Sandpoint. (Flint, and Cale in particular)

Eldon does note with some concern the woman with a blade bared. He wasn't one to speak overmuch, considering he used his reaping tool as both a weapon and a walking stick, but still. It concerned him, self-appointed Warden that he was. He knew it was Hemlock's jurisdiction, but perhaps a mixture of curiosity and danger sense leads him to talk to the woman.

"Hail." he says to Reda, the almost-meter-tall halfling apporaching her from the front, openly and with only a loose grip on the reaping weapon in his hand, non threatening in demeanor. "I am Eldon Underbough. I certainly hope you are enjoying the festival, and have no plans to cause trouble?" After a moment, there's a pointed glance at the bladed arm, then Eldon's eyes return up to meet Reda's.

Male HP:1/10, AC16/To12/FF15, F4/R2/W5 Halfling Druid 1

The typically grim Halfling makes his way into the village of Sandpoint, holding his reaping tool (scythe) fairly loosely in one hand, using it similar to a walking stick. The male halfling stands tall for his race at about a meter in height (maybe a few centimeters short of that mark), and has brown eyes to match his scraggy shoulder-length brown hair. The halfling seems to have not brought the customary butterflies to the festival. His views did not always align with those of the Desnans of Sandpoint, but he understood that such traditions were important for keeping a tight-knit community, so he had decided to make an appearance nonetheless.

The halfling is dressed in fairly loose, easy fitting clothing with is mostly covered by a suit of armour made from hide, in which he seems fairly comfortable. One might mistake him for a hunter if had any weaponry for such a task. A scythe does not make for good hunting, and the sling at his side, while being the choice weapon for halflings, would not suit that purpose much better.

The halfling openly displays no symbol of worship, and bears no visible tattoos or scars. He is generally fairly quite, sober, though he does seem always to be on alert, though the reason for his alertness is unclear.

Since Eldin is going to be from around Sandpoint, I imagine he's probably known as 'that weird halfling with the boar' or something similar. I imagine the boar usually doesn't come with when Eldin does go into town.

Depends though. I imagine Eldin has a decent relationship with Shalelu, given that they're both wilderness folks, so at least one person likes him.

Beyond that, he probably doesn't bring the boar into town - it's not usually a combative experience.

Eldon is a worshipper of Erastil, despite being a druid. As a both a Halfling as a druid, he feels a bond to the land and to the people, torn between his sense of community and his desire to be in the natural world.

So, in service to his deity, he helps to tend the fields outside Sandpoint, and his boar really likes to dig for truffles. :)
Bascially, he lives in a strange world between a community man and a loner.
