lastly for what it's worth EM±GM, your attitude would fit right in at my game table..there's some conflict about rules interpretations..and even style sometimes but, always mutual respect... Unfortunate, that tone is hard to carry over in written format like PbP.. It is also not appropriate in a PFS (unless you're close friends)...
(I refer to general bickering which I think we've avoided *hopefully*)
anyway Good luck again no hard feelings.

sorry u read the initial text..that part was out line..(I'll go ahead and withdraw..no ill feelings towards you.) Want you to know I really do respect your work even if I don't agree with your interpretations.. you put in a lot work and your faithful to the game..I'm sure lots of players have gotten hours upon hours of enjoyment in your games.. But when it's not fun for either person it's time to call it quits...thx for thinking of me...perhaps we can set some of this aside in years to come ..and play in a game together again... Even if not, wish you and all the players the best...(truly) you have my permission to 'bot' Eamon's remaining actions to fit within the story line as you see fit..after visiting the jail he returns back Nerosyan. to report the hostility of the village and the strange and very hostile attitude of the locals... As for the rest of the players, hope I didn't disrupt your enjoyment of the game too much...If you look at the GMs effort in these last two games; you'll see extensive and frequent post indicating a dedicated GM...Sometimes players and GMs just don't jive...and that's OK...Good Luck all have fun.

Eamon proceeds to cast detect evil relying on Iomedea's justice to punish all those who would do evil to the innocent. That is my action.

So they let me in fully armed but if I tell them I'm asking my God (probably their God too..) for guidance that's not OK...and it's true I'm not privy to the exact DCs...nor do I want to be...but according to the diplomacy track...they could start off no worse than 'unfriendly' (hostile means they take risk to hurt me) with Huni's aid another what was my result 26? 27? 28? ... Succeed– If you succeed, the character’s attitude toward you is improved by one step. For every 5 by which your check result exceeds the DC, the character’s attitude toward you increases by one additional step. A creature’s attitude cannot be shifted more than two steps up in this way, although the GM can override this rule in some situations. So it seems likely I would have increased their attitude to friendly..yet no...even when I roll well ...role-play well...I'm still greeted as if I was the enemy even though everything in my persona (priest of Iomedea, a Pathfinder investigating murders,...) points to me being someone who is out for the cause of justice... You ask us to be reasonable in our assumptions ok...I wasn't disarmed before I moved into the prison...and I got an excellent result on my diplomacy check...is it unreasonable for me to assume they would be friendly towards me? ( as the diplomacy track and rules suggest they might be)... as I said this adventure feels like your reading it strait out of the book. if the PCs do X then Y happens...so they let a fully armed Pathfinders and Priest into the prison and then threaten to hang them when they cast a spell? OK challenge accepted GM
great story to tell around the campfire...
btw it's not my intention to insult you...but I still believe we live in a society where constructive criticism does not necessarily get you labeled as a pariah. I've stated I don't care for your decisions regarding our role-playing..I've done nothing to insult you personally unless you take my criticism of your GMing as a personal affront.. If my criticism is an insult to you; my only option would be to politely withdraw from your game and let the rest of you play your game without my objections/ or further disruption. I personally have been criticized for several decisions (as a GM), sometimes I reverse coarse and sometimes I stand my ground. It need not escalate to anything more than that. ..I think the only inappropriate thing I may have wrote, I just erased.. just let me know....I actually don't want to disrupt your game
you have put a lot of work into this game and I recognize and appreciate that. (and yes thank you for your hard work because GMing can be a thankless job)

Captain....I mean no disrespect..I am simply trying to call upon guidance from Iomedae ..to aid me..also with Iomedae can reveal if these men have evil intent or not... Eamon turns to face the captain and addresses him directly... Forgive, me captain..I was under the impression that the people of this town revered Iomedae, do you not trust her judgments and servants? Perhaps it's because of your towns lack of faith that this tragedy has befallen you..Now you can run me through if you like...but I intend to ask the inheritor if these men hold evil intent or not...Unlike the folks of this town I place my trust in the shield maiden not my own petty suspicions..and if there's any justice in this town..you'll let the Inheritor do her work and ferret out these fiends in your mist.. Now seeing how you made no effort to remove my weapons..I am sure you don't suspect me as someone trying to make a 'jail break' as it were.... Eamon stands close very close to the sheriff, My only conclusion then...if you trust that I cannot remove these men by force is that, you don't want me to get to the truth! I tire of these games! I will cast a spell to detect evil on these men. Eamon crosses his arms in defiance... know this if you strike me down you've struck down a loyal priest of Iomedae, and a Pathfinder in good standing... Eamon's expression become serious, What that means for your town and yourself, I'll leave it for you to measure...As for myself, I will follow the justice of Iomedea. Eamon begins casting detect evil...YES I do...] OK GM ball is in your court...I've tried to talk logic and role-play to the best of my ability...you never answered my question whether or not role-play matters in your game...I'm feeling a lot of deus ex machina, in this scenario and frankly it's beginning to get a bit distasteful. If nothing we say or do but the rolls matter, please let us know so I save the frustration of putting effort into fruitless dialogue. These men are residents of Medev, therefore likely at least revere Iomedea...it would be akin to, a cop shooting a priest in today's society, because he started praying...also the Pathfinders are a very powerful organization... striking one down for casting a spell in the midst of investigation...would give in kings pause, much less a back-woods sheriff... do what you want...but I rolled a '26' on diplomacy and these guys are still threatening me! ...I've had enough...if the scenario is blown that's fine by me...but at least let us know that what we say or doesn't matter...PS. if these guys attack Eamon and he survives; I will fight back. I am tired of this junk! PS I left this one outside the spoiler because, I feel like this is not just my problem ..you need to make allowances for creative role-play..or at least, let us know only our rolls matter(apparently even high diplomacy rolls are only good enough for a talk, threats follow if a priest of Iomedea grasp his Holy symbol and ask for guidance from his lawful good deity!)...sorry for that rant but I'm very frustrated...

Note: before Eamon enters the cell, he prays for guidance.
Eamon nods his thanks to the sheriff and bids the three Pathfinders to take a seat. We haven't much time. Each of you tell me everything that happened from your own perspective....and leave nothing out..we're fellow Pathfinders here to aid you if we can. Eamon looks to Huni, and then returns his gaze to the three condemned, We cannot help you, if you're not honest with us. Pointing to the halfling, Eamon says, We'll start with you; but first I want to find out something.. Eamon then proceeds to cast Detect Evil, on the Pathfinders.

In the morning Eamon gets up early saying his devotions to Iomedae. He doesn't interact with any of the rest of the party, instead going downstairs to have a quiet meal by himself. He decides his best coarse of action is to formally request an interview with the prisoners on the basis of representation of their council. Eamon knows something knowledge local 'law': 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 but, not much about Medev Law, and is hoping he can convince the sheriff (GM forgot the sheriff's name), that as a priest of Iomedae and as a brother in arms with the condemned; that he should be allowed to interview the prisoners and comfort them in their last remaining days. Therefore, after Eamon is through with his bowl of portage, gosh I hope that wasn't some peasants saliva I tasted in that murk they served me this morning! Eamon heads to the sheriff's office with the bold intention of asking the man for access to his prisoners. Eamon prays for guidance before entering the jail. diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 = 25

Eamon is in utter shock at Floria’s Admission.. he says nothing and simply storms off to his room giving the woman a hard look. To the priestess of Iomedae he only says, if you’ll excuse me revered shield mother.. I need to go seek the Inheritor’s guidance. I may speak to you later as one of the faithful if you’ll see me. diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 7 = 15 note Eamon will cross off the charisma section on his ‘Portent’s Peril’ boon to gain a +2 diplomacy while speaking with Ekira..probably useless but gotta try to salvage something.

Ok is it just me or the players at this table intentionally testing the boundaries of the story? First Sangkip throws a knife at an un-suspecting officer.. and now another player reveals we are all ( I don’t think the we’re matters in the context of this situation..) if I didn’t know any better I’d say we’re in some interactive murder mystery game where one of the players is trying to openly foil the plans of the others... GM do u still want a bluff check? Is it really necessary at this point..? I mean one of our goals was to keep our identities secrete.. can we just assume that is blown now?
btw ... I just want to note: I’m not particularly upset at this reckless style of play..it makes the games somewhat more interesting and even realistic.. I’m just not used to players making so many story arc decisions in a PFS game without consulting the other players.. however the fact that it’s completely non-meta gaming I do find enjoyable and it harkens back to the ‘gold ol’ days’ of 1st and 2nd edition...it’s just not a typical PFS game where everyone is coloborating trying to quote ‘win’.. I guess after a few years of PFS actually seeing some people you know ‘role play’ is like having cold water thrown in your face after a long nap... for what it’s worth.. that’s a compliment.

Eamon walks through the various stalls trying various foods and observing some of the entertainment. He stops at stalls selling 'lucky charms' and other trinkets and make sure he spends a little money buying some of the trinkets. Eamon nods in agreement to Floria’s Suggestion. Yes perhaps we should at that, I’m alright with being paired with you... our talents might compliment each other’s. We’ll see how the others feel when we return to the Inn. We have four days before the execution and it’s two hours back to town. What do you suggest you and I investigate next? Therefore, Eamon leaves notice for the kitchen staff, to leave out some bread and whatever fruit is available. After choking down some particularity bitter and black tea, in the otherwise empty common room; Eamon says quietly, O.K. so the plan for the day is to head to the first witnesses farm..this Otto correct? I believe next on the agenda should be Orug the owner of the general store and place the second body was discovered. Eamon lightly touches his holy symbol of Iomedae, indicating that by saying, the church; he meant the church of Iomedae...the only true church, worth mentioning in these parts. We're on a mission to recover a relic of some importance from the Wounded Lands. We'll be staying here a few nights before moving on. However, the ghoul in many people, comes out with the notice of public execution...I suppose the over-crowding can't be helped..*sigh* (time for a bluff check) bluff: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 21

Oh and yes we'll be happy to take whatever accommodations you can afford us, and the stew will be fine. Please let the staff know we're not to be disturb while we're here...our work is that of the church and is too important to be interrupted. Eamon hands the bartender a few coins in advanced payment. We'll take our diner in the common room with the other guest...Eamon spots a table near the center of the room, where he and his party might be able to catch glimpses, of several conversations and/or gossip transpiring. That table near the hearth shall do for tonight's meal, thank you for your time my good man..we'll seat ourselves and wait for your staff to serve us..I'll take a tankard of that ale you mentioned before I head over there if you don't mind. Eamon slides another silver across the bar, to expedite service while trying to refrain, from acting too impatient.

Normally he'd be all for rank and order and keeping the chaos of command at a minimum. In this respect the agrees with the captain's reservations at assigning Sangkip and by proxy himself this new mission. But, given the over-all outcome of their last few assignments and the fact that Sangkip had proven himself a most capable agent...Eamon thought, perhaps Lauterbury holds some personal grudge against Sangkip or Vanarians in general? A person of his breathed of knowledge should be aware of the Vanar's natural inclination towards mischief ...should he not? Eamon decides to put in a good word for his fellow companion, If it pleases the captain, I'll keep an eye on our Vanarian friend. Otherwise you would not be high enough, or would be too high, to play some of the scenarios when we get to them. This was why I asked for this info 2 and a half months ago! To make sure before we started that everyone was set. You said you'd have 8 when we started... but if you're only at 6, that will become a potential issue going forward. Right now, it's just the 5th scenario that's an issue. You did mention a couple of GM credits coming your way... are those still happening, and will they get you the 2 xp you are short before then? Otherwise, you will miss out on the end of all this.
GM I will be running We be Goblins Too! next Friday at my friendly neighborhood gaming store.

Within two weeks of then I plan on running the Ice bound Outpost from season three (tier 1-5). Will this satisfy the requirements? (ie. in less than a month I'll have two more chronicles and two more xp assigned to this character)
Hope this hasn't messed up your plans too much..Have really enjoyed your game! FYI just a behind the scenes..I think I originally had another character 'Makon' a bloodrager lined up for this scenario. (he had the requisite 8xp; in fact he'll be 4th level here in a day or 2 when we wrap up the game he's in) However, when I saw the demon killing theme of this I thought "Eamon would be a perfect fit! He's a Taldian of the Silver Crusade!" I completely neglected the 8xp at that point (not intentionally). Anyway, I'll try to 'catch-up' Eamon A.S.A.P....They've been bugging me to GM more down at our local game store anyway. Sorry again!

Sorry meant 7xp! Sending the email for chronicle now .
Eamon bought a cold iron rapier and 20 cold iron bolts during the adventure (he used 2 bolts) 44gp Eamon used 4 charges of his wand of cure lt. wounds.
Eamon used his scroll of cure lt. wounds
Eamon used his vial of holy water.
Eamon has already purchased the rapier and bolts (but you can include their cost on the chronicle sheet..his starting gold would be 205gp in that case) Eamon furthermore wishes to purchase the following after his chronicle gold is awarded. With 2 prestige points..a wand of magic weapon (CL. 1 charges 50 value 750gp) Eamon also wishes to expend 9 more prestige points (assuming I earned at least one in the coarse of this adventure) and 360270gp to purchase 3 permanent Hit Points per the retraining rules. (PS> GM I started this adventure with 10 prestige points) Eamon would also like to purchase two vials of Bless weapon (100gp)
Finally Eamon would like to purchase (2 vials of holy water (50gp)
Total GP spent: 554464 GP(*edit* did my math wrong Eamon is only 3rd lv. should be 10gp x 3(lv]) x 9 (days to retrain)
 Total PP spent: 11
 Starting GP: 205
Starting prestige: 10

Yeah Eamon will wait..I'll get you a list of the things I bought and expended during this adventure and include it in PM (with the Email address) or would you prefer that list remain on the discussion board? Also I've run into this once or twice where a player seems to be able to 'pay' for better than average HP...exactly how is that done and can I 'buy' a couple HP..now? Eamon somehow swallows the huge lump in his throat upon hearing Sangkip's request and murmurs a quick prayer to Iomedae (resistance). Even though Iomedae's holy protection has expired, Eamon's pride and honor won't allow him to disengage with such a fearsome creature. For the Glory of the Shield-Maiden! Announces Eamon as he advances towards the hovering creature while drawing his family's heirloom sword.
Note GM Eamon had plenty of movement to skirt around even a creature with 10' reach to avoid an AoO while positioning himself in the flank with Sangkip.

GM I'm pretty sure I have round shield of faith left. I went back and it kinda indicates I cast shield of faith in the 2nd round but it would have been the 3rd round if I had to travel at all to the ballista before I started the full round action to load it. (this would technically be round 13 now so 'd have the remainder of this round till the start of round 14) anyway as always your call. If you do allow my shield of faith to still be active my is AC:20 through till the beginning of 14. Eamon runs over to the commotion and sees a huge flying insect with a stinger strait form the Abyss. Without thinking he chucks his holy water, at the giant flying insect. ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 5dmg: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5 (the +1 is from guidance I cast 4 rounds ago, the -2 is range increment penalty) Eamon carefully studies the creature hovering in the air, as his Holy water spins end over end, towards the creature's thorax. K planes: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 I could roll a 1d8 for the miss but since it's only going to miss by 5' it will splash the creature no matter where it lands and holy water doesn't harm me or any of my allies presumably ..(ie. if creature is an evil outsider it will take 1hp dmg)

Eamon looks at his drawn sword and sheathes it: He keeps the holy water in hand for now, giving Floria a nod of respect. He then channels once again while shuffling towards the fallen war priest (5ft’ step does someone mind moving me towards Huni?) Eamon then draws his wand of cure light wounds and use some of the magic to heal the priest even more. Eamon howls in protest at seeing his comrade fall. He says a quick prayer to Imodae for guidance then trots to an advantageous position for throwing his holy water whilst drawing his magic longsword. Eamon cast ‘guidance ‘ on himself. Then moves to 15’ away from the minataur and draws his longsword while moving

1: Did Huni receive the 3hp from my last channel? 2: Eamon will change is round 8 action (of helping the artillery team) to channeling a second time.
R 8
Eamon looks up from the crank he is helping his fellow artillery mates pull on to see Huni in dire straits! Without a thought he lets go of the wheel and calls upon Iomedae's mighty grace to once again soothe his allies injuries. channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3 Eamon then murmers to himself, enough of this! I need to help my friends! and takes out a vial of liquid from his belt pouch.
Eamon's channel heals all alies with 30'(ie. everyone) 3hp more. Eamon has taken out a vial of Holy Water from his pouch.

OK so Eamon in round 7 will pause for a moment and channel once (to help heal himself and some of his artillery mates... he will not channel a second round but continue to load the heavy siege machine... (ie. every one of Eamon's allies within 30' gets 3hp) Eamon calls on the holy power of The shield Maiden, to heal his allies, and then sets about loading the heavy siege engine again.. That's Eamon's round 7&8 avctions.

OK GM I'm totally confused whether or not I am allowed to do anything at all while I'm part of the team loading the large siege engine...I assumed it takes both my actions...that's why I didn't post an action...I didn't want to delay the loading process...However, if..if I am or was allowed an action (without delaying the loading process) I will channel healing all my allies within 30' and using selective channel to exclude up to 3 enemies. If I'm allowed 2 actions (on separate rounds; again without delaying the loading process) I will channel again...The important part is Eamon will not stop loading the large war machine. if it means delaying the firing cycle at all.

Fire the Ballista I'll help this lot!

GM is there a target beyond the walls for Eamon to shoot? If so Eamon will take a shot. If not Eamon takes a moment to cast shield of faith on himself and he moves over to the big siege machine.

Eamon isn't sure but he suspects the Alchemist could be better at aiming this contraption than himself. Wanting to make up for his past Cowardice, Eamon decides to sacrifice his own safety by preparing the ballista to fire before drawing a weapon or casting a spell to protect himself. Eamon reaches down finds what he believes to be a strait ballista shaft and loads it onto the firing rail. He then works the crank wheel to pull back the heavy gauge sinew that the machine's string consisted of. After, rolling the crank back several turns Eamon pushed a beveled piece of wood into the firing lock mechanism so the lance on the rail didn't fire until someone pulled the trigger on the machine. After he is finished loading the machine, Eamon turns to Alessio and shouts, You should fire I'll load! Note: Alessio, it takes me a full round to load the ballista, so you should use one action to move towards Eamon and another to prep yourself (take a mutagen or some other buff?) Eamon spends round 1 loading the ballista

Eamon cast his eyes downward. I’d ask you to give me leave to beg the shieldmaiden for forgiveness . Eamon turns away from the man sullenly and uses his wand one more time on himself and ask everyone else, If anyone else would like to partake in the Inheritors grace, I’m willing to heal you as well? Eamon utters the last statement so low that it’s almost mute... his shame at having run from battle causing him to act meek among his fellow Pathfinders. wand of cure lt: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

		   will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Eamon flees screaming like a little girl..
fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Why so many fort saves GM...has Eamon been in the stinking cloud the entire 3 rounds? Isn't stinking cloud a poison effect? ie. once you save your immune? Just wonering cause I've make 4 save attempts in a relatively low CR encounter in only 3 rounds...seems a little punitive for fourth and third level...eventually the math will catch-up with us all it we have to make saves every round! (and let's face it..these are all save or suck effects so yeah what's the deal?! Could you please check on this?!)
Edit: if it's found out I would have only had to make two saves(instead of 4) could you please reconsider reversing my failed will save and assigning one of my two previous passed fort saves instead?

First knowledge local roll is per GM request. The second will be in regards to checking Dermont's knowledge of Taldor ( Eamon's birthplace and homeland perhaps a bit of a bonus?) Note; before asking each question or talking, Eamon says a short prayer to Iomedae seeking Guidance
GM requested K local: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6
 k local talking with Dermont: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15
Eamon saunters over to Dermont. Captain, We two have much in common! I too and from our beautiful homeland of Taldor. How I miss the towering Blackwoods of the Tandak Forest. Tell me Captain what do you miss most of our homeland? Eamon slyly misrepresents the famous forest the Blackwood Trees are from. (Blackwoods are known for being present in the Verduran Forest, Tandak is a plain near Taldor) bluff: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23 If the knowledge of Taldor bears no fruit, Eamons sets about conversing with the Dermont about their shared Goddess Iomedae. k religion: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 = 25 Eamon then takes stock of what he's learned and ponders whether or not he thinks Dermont is possessed. sense motive: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21

OK boy enough of the pointless chatter, your friend Needles' older brother's girl...you say she sometimes meets with Gudrun Mazrarad. Did you ever get a chance to talk to this girl? I mean did she ever tell you anything about the Dwarfs habits? Or something particular about Gudrun Mazrarad? What exactly does running a beat on Revelation mean? Eamon taps his foot impatiently waiting for a reply. |
