Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will pass over the spell book without comment.

He holds the box up to his ear and shakes it gently, It would be a shame to destroy such a fine lock box. It might be worth more that anything inside it

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan scratches his head, "Beats me"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Well then, let's open it up!
dissable device: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 10 + 1 = 25 (guidence)

He will causiously open the chest and take a look.

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"Looks like someone left in a hurry... hey! Is that my lute?

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Really? Sweet! All my stories are getting old, I need some new material."

He carefully wipe out his mug and asks plaintively, "Say, I've come down with a really bad case of sober. I don't suppose any of you brought any...." He waves the drinking vessel meaningfully

He will also search the bodies, hoping to find his lute.Anything else he finds he'll set out for the party.

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Sorry i havn't posted for a bit. For some reason the site wasn't showing any new posts!?

Realizing his mistake Dylan hastens to appologize, "Um, sorry Mr Mayor I though you were talking about..." He trails off gesturing towards the headless body.

Turning to the last bandit, "Hey, before you go, or whatever, where's the stuff you stold from me!"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"He hadn't surrendered, he was running off calling for reinforcements! You should be thanking Bannock."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Ouch, that had to sting a bit" Dylan says, tunning a little green

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Charles will be joining us at a later date, Dylan I'll get your stuff finished up tonight and insert you both into the story. For Ragnar its easy, he took a job to hunt down these petty thieves, how would you happen here Dylan? Did you follow them out of town?

Dylan has spent the last few years either singing for his supper or as a happy drunk. It would take something fairly significant to stir him into action. Could they have stolen something that mattered to him? Or swiped something from someone he cared about? He could have followed them hoping to retrieve the item. He can be a sneaky sort when he needs to be so he could be lurking about waiting for an opening.

*edit By 'they" I meant the bandits the group is currently facing not the enemy from original setup. Alternately he could be a captive of said bandits

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Happy to be aboard :-) Just waiting on feedback from the GM to complete the character. He said that he would be providing an equipment list?

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dot

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Hey there!

I'll give it a go.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 5) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 2) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 6) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 3) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 2) = 11 x

Not bad :-)

Here's Dylan, bard and town drunk (a town can always use another drunk right?). Drunk when he has money and bard when he needs more. I haven't given him any equipment yet pending your comments. This was a quick build so some adjustments my be necessary.

(I should mention that I've recycled his alias but this version of Dylan was built from scratch)

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Dylan will pick up the bottle and toss it back out the window "Excuse me, you dropped something."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will busy himself tying up and gaging the unconscious.

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

He'll try again, fascinate (dc12)

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Let me try something. Someone tie the dog up if it works."

Dylan will try to fascinate (dc12) the dog

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Evens the odds a bit!

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

You already have my move :-)

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will suppress a sigh and think to himself, "Of course they noticed us. It would have been too easy to just let us slip away with the information..."
He'll will wait for them to gather and open the door then cast color spray (DC13) through the window, breaking the glass first if the window is glazed.

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will creap up beneath the window and try to listen in on the conversation...
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Whoops sorry. I should have put a declarative in there somewhere :-)

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Lets see where they go then decide."

stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

I don't know what I was thinking choosing summon monster I as a first level spell. The duration is only 1 round/level, so 1 round! Any chance I could swap out the spell for colour spray or sleep?

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Do you think they're part of a larger conspiracy? I wonder if we could follow them back to their friends?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will shrug, "All right. See you later then."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

knowledge local: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
knowledge nobility: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

"Braeton Manore, eh. Dare I ask... who lives here?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Dylan will nudge Ix Chal and point out the vials.

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan shakes his head in resignation and sighs, "Of course they are."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

It will be difficult to carry out an investigation if secrets are being kept from us. We are on your side you know."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
good enough for a +2 assist to Esteven!

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"How do you know?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

I'm having fun!

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

what happened to our rogue?

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"My pardon but if the carnival had employed any Skulks I'm sure the townsfolk would have seen them on display. Their adaptive camouflage would be a big draw."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Sure. The whole point of this is to prove the carnival isn't responsible. Get a guard and have one of them fetch the sheriff

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"They're Skulks. Sneaky bastards."

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

are the guards still here?

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan busies himself with the ledger as he steps into the vault, stepping aside at the last moment as the creature rushes past. With a raised eyebrow he asks, "What the hell was that?"

He'll attempt to identify the creature
knowledge nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Well, I wouldn't think any potential trap would be triggered by someone using the correct key...do you?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"May I take this with us?

Please have someone on hand to check us on the way out. I have no doubt of our trustworthiness of course but I'd prefer to forgo baseless accusations from those who have valuables inside. It would be best to err on the side of prudence, don't you think?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Thats more than enough to bluff Dylan

Dylan will nod, "That sounds reasonable. Is there any records of what's supposed to be in the vault? A ledger or something we can check against?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

Dylan will ask the guard, "I thought the sherif was under the impression that nothing had been taken. Did I mishear, or was she mistaken?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Or they were after something that wasn't... on the ledgers. Interesting either way. Does anyone else have questions for the sheriff before we're off?"

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"Why would the guards take the victims body to his office, sheriff? There were any number of better options. The best one being to leave the body where it was found and fetch you. Or, if they thought Mr. Walder was still alive, to a healer."

Adept 1/Bard 1:HP 20/20: AC 17

"So, off to see the sherif then. I can't claim to have said those words before." Dylan says dolefully.
