Ok so we all know Roll With it is a Goblin feat that lets you convert damage into distance moved should you make the required check.

And we all know if you roll into an object or creature your size or larger (Small and up) you take only 1d4 points of damage. So you could convert 25 dmg into a 1d4 dmg. Fair trade

But could you maybe make use of the rolling into a creature larger then you if you had Limb Climber from Rogue's Vexing Dodger Archetype.
What I mean to ask if, is there anything allowing or stopping you from making a climb check when you roll into a person that would allow or prevent you from basically rolling up their body using a climb check? For that matter could you make a climb check on the roll to roll up the wall?

I am trying to imagine this goblin build that is just very annoyingly scrappy

Ok so I was watching Buffy and after looking at her, save for the superhuman strength and such. Really speaking she kind of appeared to be a Inquisitor and UC Monk. The monk for her specialized hand to hand skills and the Inquisitor gets a few of her key abilities to know things about bad guys and of course her ability to shrug off some effects.

Not trying to make an exact copy but the idea of an Inquisitor//UC Monk just seems like a good combo. Decent AC thanks to Wis to AC, Wis goes to spells as well which gives you even better versatility and Monster Lore needs good Wis.

I was thinking if I took a VMC Bard this would be even higher and give the character access to inspiring their group. Knowledge Devotion feat makes you a sure thing to kick ass for your goal.

Any ideas?

I was noticing something as of late. There are at least two Archetypes for the Witch and Druid that grants a PC something akin to Immortality if played right, of course they can still be killed by specific things such as Death effects though.

Are there any I missed? I noticed the Beast Bond Witch (Allows body hoping as a way of keeping alive) and the Reincarnated Druid (Allows you to reincarnate a day later up to 1 mile from your body.)

I was curious if there were others because it would be fun to possibly play in a part composed of characters who maybe where a little harder to kill. You could give them more challenges higher then they might normally handle or give them social issues of beings who are virtually immortal how do they relate to the changing world around them?

A druid who has reincarnated so many times that they forgot their original form, since they have been 1 of every common race would they have a bias toward their native race if they could remember it? How do they deal when they Reincarnate as a Goblin?

For the witch, do they feel guilt for stealing the form they are in? Do they do this to stay young and beautiful or just to survive?

Alright so I wanted to begin play with a Reincarnated Druid.
Now we are mixing in a little 3.5 for more crunch and the race I am picking is the Killoren race. Which is a Fey.

Now since it is a fey and there is only 2 feys that can be player races. Killoren and Gathlain (At least without is being a CR above playable.)

Now I am rolling for stats
18, 13, 16, 12, 14, 15 (Not in any real order)

Now my biggest issue is going to be death effects and so I will need advice on how to defeat those effects. Death Ward is a 4th level spell that gives a +4 morale bonus, but a continuous item of that level is like 100,000+ GP

Any other ways to get bonuses to those spells or a way to get immunity?

Does the feat work for the Arcanist. I know it has a Spells Prepared section rather then a spells known section but we all agree they function the same. Those are your spells known for the day.

So would it work via Raw? OR would it work via RAI?

Alright so I would like to make this really ridiculous gestalt idea. A Factotum//Magus (Kensai) combo just seemed sick to me.

We allow Dreamscarred at our table so I am taking the Elan race and adding my floating +2 to Int. I am also going venerable to add a total of +5 to the Int.

Now taking two Flaws (Basically the feats that give me a -4 to hitting a women, and a -4 to hitting a foe who is not armed with a melee weapon (Unless they are able to use a lethal Unarmed))
Those two feats will likely be Font of Inspiration.
At first level take Knowledge Devotion
At 3rd level Weapon Finesse
at 5th level Slashing Grace
The Bonus provided by Magus would be Intensify Spell

Traits would be Magical Lineage (Shocking Grasp)
and Student of Philosophy to make Diplo and Bluff Int based checks.

btw I pick up free Exotic Weapon Prof. Gnomish Quick Razor and Weapon Focus on the Quick Razor.

How would you guys build this differently?

Ok so I was thinking of rolling up an Android for a upcoming campaign. So I was gonna look and take a few templates to empower my character.

One was gonna be the Clockwork Construct, as it adds 0 CR and gives Lightning Reflexes and Improved Initiative and a +2 Dodge bonus for the low price of needing to be winded up each day (I am in a party after all) and taking 150% of Electrical damage.

And the next is obviously the +1 Champ Advanced.

I was thinking of taking the Iron Priest Archetype for the Cleric, using the channel energy to heal himself and spontaneously casting Repair spells would keep him up on his feet at all times.

I was also considering the Monk class, giving the Android a very physical power house, think the Handy Men from the new Alien game, a android who can lift a man with ease and has no problem punching through foes.

Would a gestalt of the two work well?

Haunted Construct
I have to say this seems extremely good for a +2. This is the Advanced of the +2 CR range.

Now if someone stripped out the Spell-Likes I might range this as +1 CR but those Spell-likes are insane. I mean I would rate this much much higher.

So I was thinking of the fact that Androids count as Constructs and can thus take Construct templates and seeing this I was floored because for a simple +2 you gain insane amounts of power.

How would you rate this? Would you allow someone to take this with their Android?

So boys and girls when a Mommy Druid and a Daddy Monk love each other very much they make a brand new Druid//Monk character.

So here is what I was thinking about. I wanted to make a gestalt of an Unchained Monk and a Reincarnated Druid. Or as I like to call it the Not So Bulletproof Monk.

Now my table uses some 3.5 stuff here and there, obviously if we are using the Gestalt rules.

So here is a build I was gonna do, post whatever ideas you have for the build.

Reincarnated Druid 5//Unchained Monk 5
Currently this gives me Full BAB, d10HD, All good saves, Many Lives (Free Reincarnate after a day, cool down of 1 week), +10 Movement Speed, 1d8 Unarmed Strike, Immunity to Diseases, 3rd level divine spells (Druid spell list). Over all not to bad.
I lose out on Wildshape till level 6 and then can only do it once a day. But I didn't really plan on Wildshaping much, mostly to use it as scouting or transportation

I plan on keeping on Reincarnated Druid till 20th if our play gets that high. However, I was looking into two older PrCs from D&D 3.X. The Shiba Protector(Oriental Adventures) and the Fist of the Forest (Complete Divine)

Flaw Feat: Dirty Combat
Flaw Feat: Great Fortitude
Human Bonus: Power Attack
1rst Level Feat: Iron Will
Monk Bonus: Dodge
Monk Bonus: Combat Reflexes
3rd Level: Alertness (GM may allow this one to be ignored)
5th Level: Crushing Blow
Monk Bonus: Mobility

Take Shiba Protector at level 6 on the Monk side, and then a level in Fist of the Forest (Since I already live like an animal) I will add Con to AC and with Shiba I add Wis to Atk and Dmg.

Ok so my party suffered a TPK, and I suffered a one day nap.
But my DM said since the rest of the party is being reshuffled that due to 'Traumatic Stress' of the death of all his friends my Druid can now swap around some skill points, and retrain feats this one time for free.

I played a Samsaran first but now I am human.

So I was wondering what feats and traits should I take to better my chances vs Death Effect and Necromancy effects.

Also is there any way to bring a character back who was killed via a death effect who is immune to raise dead and resurrection (Reincarnate does not allow for you to use that if killed via a death effect.)

We are level 5, I just got my reincarnate ability and this is my first death and reroll. So now that I have this cool ability and want to focus on keeping my butt alive!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hello,

My party and I are gonna be running a Gestalted AP soon. It will either be Kingmaker or RotRL (Anniversary Edition) pretty soon. The Party is small consisting of 3 players more or less.

I decided to go with a Cha feel in case we run Kingmaker and RotRL is not too bad to have a good Cha either.

So here is the Statistics
Half-Orc Race
Sacred Tattoo Alternate Racial
20 Pt Buy

Fate's Favored Trait
(Second unselected)

Classes (w/ Archetypes)
Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light)
Bard

Now my GM of course is allowing somethings from UA (Gestalt for example) and he considers the Paladin of Freedom or those variants to be very akin to Archetypes. I considered the CG Paladin angle, but for building a Kingdom I think LG works best. But in RotRL should I go CG?

This begins play at level 5. Taking 5 levels of the Human Bonus for Bard to pick up new spells. (7 Cantrips, 6 1rst, 3 2nd levels)
I am also considering taking Expanded Arcana to gain more spells known. This is my only issue with bards is their limited spells known and I would like to invest in some ways to gain further spells when I can.

I am taking two flaws from Ebberon though the Flaw system comes from UA. These would be the flaws that issue a -4 to Hit if I am fighting someone who is clearly the opposite gender to me (Up to the DM what clearly is) and -4 to Hit if I am fighting someone who appears not to be carrying a melee weapon (Though I did point out Unarmed Strike is Melee I will not be using that argument unless the person is a strict unarmed fighter.)

So currently I have 5 feats to work with.

(My DM is iffy on this as he is not sure if the feats gained every odd level is a class feature or not covered by the Gestalt rules. As in, do you get 2 sets of feats. So for example would each side get their normal 1, 3, 5 level feats bringing the total to 6 feats by level 5 (Not counting flaw feats) or do they just get the one flow of feats.)

So looking at Warrior of the Holy Light at level 4 I picked up Power of Faith, this is a morale bonus, but the bonuses go to To Hit, To Dmg, To AC, and against Fear. A Bard gives a morale bonus to saves against fear so those do not stack. But the Bard's inspire Courage grants a competence bonus to Hit and Dmg of +2 at level 5. Meaning those standing within 30 ft of my Paladin//Bard gets a +1 to AC and a +3 to Hit and Dmg.

Any advice on this build so far?

EDIT: If I take Expanded Arcana as my flaw feats, I would start with 4 first level spells and 5 Cantrips using the Human favored bonus. At lvl 5 I would have 9 Cantrips, 12(?) 1rst Level (Arcana used on each level to add +2 (from two of them)), and 7 2nd level.

I am not sure I am understanding Arcana correctly as it says it adds 1 spell known in addition to the spell gained at each new level. So each level I would add an additional +1 for each use of the feat. Is this right I am sorry but its wording as me confused.

Alright so I am setting to work on a new build, one using the Arcanist class and the Samsaran alternate racial trait.

So this will be at 5th level.
We will be rolling for stats (4d6, drop lowest, reroll 1s)

Now I am going to use the Blood Arcanist archetype to pick up the Pyschic Bloodline.

Now the Mystic Past Life says it must be the same type of spells so we now have Psychic, Arcane, and Divine.
So I have to use spells from the Psychic spell list and add them to my character list

I know it is soon but what great spells are on the psychic spell lists that are not on the Sorcerer/Wizard Spell list?

I like Mental Block it seems useful. But I would need a metamagic to make it work on Undead (Psychics get an amplification to use it on them at level 1)

Ok so I was curious about something, someone suggested that in our Kingmaker game that we should find a Deck of Many Things.

Now I have only once used a Deck of Many Things and I only ever drew a single card. It was a good card (Throne). But that was a few years ago.

Now how much havoc would a Deck of Many Things cause in a setting like Kingmaker?

I am curious because this would be fun to bring up but yeah I think it could cause havoc.

As we all know at level 6 the Factotum gains no new class feature. And this seems to be a big no no for PF classes. And while Factotum is powerful I do not feel it needs to have that to keep balanced.

So I was curious if I took the Pathfinder Chroniclers Deep Pockets ability and added it to the Factotum with a bit of a change (More GP per level) would it be fair and balanced?

Something like 500 GP per Class level (Remember you get this at 6th level, so that is 3K out of your 16K that needs to be used to fill your pockets.) At later levels I doubt this will become much of an issue.
