"I am here to track down any such corruption in the tournament, especially if it leads me to the punks from the Golden League. They burned down my practice, they took the life of one of the shining stars of the community, and now the Golden League will meet the Golden Rule: do unto others..." Osh still has to escape, unfortunately. At least he'll get to go before the Sandstorm. Doc can get everyone up to full rather quickly with Ward Medic and Continual Recovery, so hitpoint-wise everyone will be good. So it'll be up to everyone's resources. This is the start of Doc's day so the only spell slot used was a second level slot. That said, the rest of the party has gone through a hell of a day. He'll understand the need to rest.

Doc opens his mouth to start berating the sandstorm, but notices that most of the combatants have left the room. His gaze moved to the stuffed toy, and his priorities shifted. Striding confidently, Doc moved to the poppet and slapped a sticky pad on its most egregious wounds. Not the most elegant solution, but one that would work in the short term. At the same time he worked to take care of his own wounds. "We are leaving the room. Come with me." says to Osh. With both wounds at least sort of taken care of, Doc strides towards the room's exit. ◆ for Doctor’s Visitation to Stride to and use Battle Medicine on Osh. Minor Curse wrote: As your life force seeps outward, it becomes more difficult to keep your body functioning. Effects that restore Hit Points to you take a status penalty equal to half your level (minimum 1) to the number of HP you recover. Minor curse is just less healing and, because I think I'm cute, I have it as Resistance 5 Healing in his character bar. @Max, I'll take the rounded up number today, but when everyone is in better standing I'll take the rounded down damage.

Doc's up next, and I'm going to try to disable it. Also, mentioned in the post but good to mention here, but Max is actually the one with Shield Other on him. Osh just has Life Link. I wasn't sure about hard corners and healing someone around it, so he just got hit by the Life Link.

Reflex: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26 Failure Doc takes 43 damage and 10 from Osh, then half of whatever Max's damage is. It looks like the tracker has Shield Other on Osh instead of Max, but that's an error. So Doc is down 53 hit points, and we'll see how much farther down he is after Max's roll. Depending on if it will help, Doc can also use Willing Death on anyone who might get put down to below 0 if 12 less damage will help. 108/171 HP

I'm caught up on the thread. You've guys had a tough time, hopefully Doc can make that a bit easier for you all. Thank you, those who said they wanted Doc in the game. I'll do my best (dice forgiving) to make lives a little easier to live. I plan on adding botting instructions and special actions to Doc's profile tonight when I'm not on mobile. Also, to make sure, placatting the curse (spirit?) is 2 actions and requires an Expert Religion check, yes? I'll give it a shot on my turn unless something stops me by then.

Doc Ling entered the room and immediately got to work. Striding confidently towards Max, the short figure pulled bandages from his pockets and set to healing the unconscious man before more harm could come and make his condition worse. His bright red robes fluttered in the intense wind whipping through the room and his eyes peered out from behind the ornate beak-like plague mask that he wore to take in the scene. A team of four. Two woman, a man, and a stuffed toy. With a nod to no one in particular, Doc raised his hands and snapped his fingers. Light surrounded Aoibhean, Cirri, and Osh before forming an intangible connection with Doc and disappearing. Without hesitation, the small doctor weaves another spell that acted similar to his last, but effects only Max and doesn't seem to heal him, unlike the last spell. "Get up, now. Come on, it is too dangerous to nap here." ◆1 Doctor's Visitation to stride to Max and use Battle Medicine (Master DC 30). Doc Ling (of Knight of Rust), at your service. New books have been released since I last looked over Doc so I'm going to spend tomorrow looking over the new stuff. I also haven't gotten him any equipment yet, either, but that shall come soon, too. I'm building him as a healer (obviously) but he'll have a lot of support options and damage dealing options. Life Link and Heal backed by the Life Curses are pretty powerful, as is Debilitating Dichotomy, and a few other things. He also has the Medic Dedication, because I like it, and Doctor's Visitation is pretty grand. Quick backstory:
Doc is a follower of Qi Zhong, Tian God of Medicine. He's a Goka native who worked in the back alleys of the slums, taking care of whoever needed it for a reasonable price. Well loved by the people, the Halfling never charged more than anyone could handle even if it meant he barely made a copper.
One of the regulars to his practice was a young Halfling named Agnus. Agnus was always getting beaten up and bruised as he trained for the Ruby Phoenix Tournament, and despite Doc's best efforts not to get attached to his patients they became good friends. The youngling thought so, at least. As Agnus practiced, Doc did what he could to keep the boy in top shape. This story didn't have a happy ending, however. The young man became more powerful as time passed, and he started defending the people of the slums. Whether by fate or chance he also managed to cross paths with the Golden League. Doc greeted a particularly bloody Agnus for the last time that night. As the older was patching up his younger, the Golden League came for them. Not in any position to fight, Doc attempted to show the thugs the door, giving time for Agnus to escape through the back. Doc gave his life that day for one of his long-time patients, but that was not the end of his story. No, the Boneyard had other plans. Doc Ling rose from the ashes of his burnt down practice, skin as grey as the bleak remains of the building surrounding him. He saw Agnus near him, not run down as he fled like Doc had told him to, but beside him and surrounded by the scorched thugs who had apparently left this mortal coil before they could finish the job. An atrocity, that's what this event was. Bile rose in the throat of the back alley doctor. His adherence to the Doctor's Oath died when he had. The feelings welling up inside of him made "Primum non nocere" lose all meaning. It took some time to get used to this body. This... Duskwalker that he had become. With his connections, Doc began looking into the Golden League and, more importantly, the thugs that took Agnus' life. ---- So that sets up Doc to get into things with the Undercover Contender background. After that, it would have to be a discussion between me and the GM to see how things got connected from A to B. I eagerly await your choice! |
