Good hear. I am slso moving before Christmas.

Deranthil backs away warily from the spear wall and studies it for a moment.

Will Save: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17

I cannot find the map so do not know how close Deranthil is. He will not move as to provoke.

Deranthil is last in the group so I will wait.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

So Deranthil has Alarm Sense - This is Trap Spotter for magical Traps. I would like to propose that a shocking spear behind an illusional wail might be considered a trap? He also has trap spotter. I guess if the spear is wielded by an enemy its an ambush and not a trap, built just an illusionary wall might be considered a trap? No?

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Deranthil casts his Mage Armor spell, holds sword in one hand and wand of color spray in the other as he enters.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Damn. I was so useless in that fight. I gotta learn a spell that hits an area.

Unsure how to help Deranthil stands back and makes sure not to get in the way.

I've got nothing. Deranthil says, backing away and then deciding to try to aid Diomedes's AC. even if that makes him a potential target.

Attack to aid AC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Welp, I tried. :(

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Wow. Look at that thing. I'ts made up of lots of little things. How do we begin to fight it?

Knowledge Arcana?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

This history lesson is very compelling but a distraction from our mission. Deranthil muses. Do not let it fascinate you to the point of not paying attention to your surroundings Venture Captain.

Wonderful magic but I fear the message here is never trust your leaders.Deranthil says sardonically

Deranthil is happy to kick in for the wand.

Perhaps we should try to locate a wand containing this spell?

IF I can buy a scroll of it I can add it to my spellbook and prep it...

Deranthil shudders. The world wou;d be a better place without such creatures.

Deranthil is as well iirc.

Leveling to 4:

Will take half +1 for HP if we do not have to roll.

Deranthil gains +1 BAB, +1 Reflex Save, debilitating injury ability, a rogue talent AND second level spells. A big level for him.

He increases his Con from 13 to 14. This increase his Fort save by 1.

Rogue Talent: Trap Spotter

Spells Learned: Invisibility and Scorching Ray

Skills:7 - Acrobatics, Bluff, Disable Devise, Knowledge Arcana, Perception, Spellcraft, and Stealth

Background Skills:2 -Slight of Hand and Prof Sailor.

I have updated his alias.

I can think of no other plan. Deranthil confers.

A useful item for the group. Deranthil says as he studies the ring before tossing it to Gizmo. Of little use to me personally though.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

They had the option of coming to the humans and explaining the problem. Deranthil says to Jordy. They will never be accepted after their crimes. Somethings are not forgivable. It would be best if they leave and never return. Turning to the Grindylow queen he adds If we let you leave we will require of you your wealth and magic so that we might use it against this woman in the observatory. It seems the least you can do.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

And where is this woman? Do you know her name and what she looks like?

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Deranthil stays his sword for now and responds Speak then, and we will weigh what you provide against your previous treachery.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Their leader just blasted you Jordy, knocking you prone. But I agree we should focus on th3e skum first.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Moving around to flank a skum diagonally with Diomedes, Deranthil sheaths his short sword into a tender part of the enemy's anatomy.

cold iron short sword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 = 281d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (2, 5) = 13

Confirm?: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 291d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

20% miss chance. I am against it and do not think the mist will belp. They can also focus and outnumber us. It could be good for retreating, but we are not there yet.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

I think that kills my sneak attack, right? Also it would help against range attacks but would give us a 0% miss chance to hit. Currently no range attacks.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Flanking with Bastien, Deranthil puts his short sword through the enemy between them

cold iron short sword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 221d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (3, 2) = 13

Deranthil casts Shield and moves to flank, tumbling to try to avoid an AOO.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

He moves to the space just north of Bastien. Current AC is 22 with Shield.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Deranthil deposits the dead shifter at her feet and waits for another to speak. His attempt at diplomacy does not go well.

Diplomacy Assist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Yep

Deranthil nods. Maybe taking the dead shapeshifters will help.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

The aquatic elf brings the body back.

Just to be sure, you did get both Deranthil’s attack and AOO, right? Total of 16 points.

Deranthil will dive in after the shape changer and charge him.

Charging attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 191d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

AOO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 221d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

If that does not take him down Deranthil will jump in after him.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

roll to confirm that threat.

I do not see a link to the map. If it makes sense for Deranthil to wait for a flank he calls for one and readies, otherwise he just attacks.

cold iron short sword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 161d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (1, 2) = 11

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

FYI - I'll be traveling from July 4 though the 17th. I will have internet much of the time but not every day. So please bot me if I am holding up anything.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

He will switch his attack to the one that grabbed him, but will not get sneak attack. That will now be a 20 to attack without flank and 9 damage. And since I act after the enemy I'll let them take their next turn before I act to avoid red-conning things.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Forgot to roll.

Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Deranthil moves acrobatically up to flank the enemy leader with Dio.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

cold iron short sword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 221d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 4 + (4, 4) = 17

If leader is already down he will tumble over and flank with Bastion.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Move Deranthil 20'to the right. From there what is the DC to jump into the rowboat. He is +10 acrobatics so gets a 20 if he takes 10. If you are good with that move him into the rowboat.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Cannot move my icon on the map.

Deranthil moves out, targeting the last of the enemy on the doce with a Snowball spell, hopefully catching the "man" flat footed and doing sneak attack damage as well as spell damage.

Range Touch, flat footed.: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 183d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) + (2, 5) = 24 DC 14 fort save or be Staggered for a round.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Deranthil tenses, ready to attack.

At the sound of the men's approach Deranthil casts his Mage Armor spell upon himself and slips behind some crates.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

I like the idea of a password. But that does not help for those already replaced. Lets start by question these men one at a time. I think we should detain them all though.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

Damn. Those goblin things spoke of some greater threat. I have to believe this must be from that threat.

Deranthil seems satisfied with this proclamation. He motions for the three to join his group and tries to lead them out.

Male Aquatic Elf Unchained Rogue (Eldtitch Scoundrel) 4: HP 35/35; AC 16/20; T14; FF16; F3 R 8 W 2, +2 vs enchantments; Ini +4; Perc+ 10

They kidnapped settlers. For all we know they have tortured or killed some. And you want to deal with them? Dernthil hisses in a low voice.
