Grand Lodge

I have created an archer character, he is based on the fighter class. Do you know if the new APG Archer Archtype will bring some additional archer coolness for my guy or if the primary thrust of the archer archtype is to give other classes a taste of archer coolness?

Will it make sense for my fighter to take the Archer archtype or will it be redundant?

Denge seeing the carnage below, quickly moves into action, with Healing wand in hand, he will save his friend.

Denge will scrabble down rope to move to aid Albern fee, his life blood slowly eeking out.

Accelerated climb - 5, to move at 1/2 speed instead of 1/4 speed on the climb down

Sliding down the rope too fast Denge burns his hands, unfamiliar with the more advanced techniques of climbing or descending.

Dried blood in both of Denge's ears, he reaches for his Scythe(move) and then Stands (standard) a little wobly on his feet he surveys the battle. His eyes come into focus and he remembers where his is and what he must do.

You are right, I used it in my alternate universe!

Denge will grasp the master work scythe that had fallen from his numb and unconscious hands and will stand(and provoke from green goblin.)

If he is still alive he thinks to cast a dazing spell on the ettin, but then remembers that this spell only works against weaker creatures and would not work against this monstrosity.

Daze Spell up to 4 hit dice

He 5 foot steps into the flank with Brethon and attacks to aid, wildly whooping and swinging his bloodied scythe.

Attack to Aid: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

Thinking that is not enough, Denge screams at the top of his lungs and scrapes his master work scythe along the stone creating a small shower of sparks-- hopefully distracting the blood thirsty ettin

Denge will drop his Scythe and draw his crossbow, then fire at the at the ettin (if he can get line of sight on it. if he cannot he will back up away from the boulder until he can see the ettin.

Agreed Spiritualist/Phantom is a weak front liner character class, but has nice flavor. : D

The interplay between DR and touch attacks/non-magical fire comes from the SRD Here

Art I show Penelope's max hit points at 6 and her current damage at 5, four for the first round of fire damage and 1 point in the second round.

Either way lets make a ruling and move on. Art I will set Penelope's max hit points at 10 and she has taken 6 points of damage. I will have her take her second attack. If you want me to change any of these things let me know. I don't want to bog the game down in rules research.

re-read the whole play test. Missed a a bunch.

AC 17 = +10 (Base) + 1 (Dex) +2 (Natural Armor, Phantom trait) + 4 (Mage Armor)

Also Penelope has a d10 for hit dice, but does not get max hit points at "1st level" so she has 6 hit points instead of 12 (new total and damaged reflected on profile.)

Her Strength and Charisma increase by 1 every level.

She has DR 5/Slashing
DR does not apply to touch attacks, including non-magical fire.

She attacks twice per round.

After the first 30 minutes of people settled in their places, Denge realizes the party is pretty spread out, and that will not make for an effective ambush. He silently messages the other party members and says:

"Excuse me, but based on our locations this does not seem to be a good set up for an ambush-- I think we are spread out too thin."

Denge points to the area marked with the red box on the map, and says:

"We should wait until our enemy is here in this area and use surprise from the brush and this large boulder to spring out and attack the foul creatures, using the terrain to our best advantage."

"If we stay spread our like this, it is likely the monsters will clobber the guys in front before the rest of us can move forward through this difficult terrain and we can provide effective assistance."

Denge will urge the two PC in the front to fall back to a position closer to the rest of the party, if not, then not.

Flash forward to the noise coming toward the group

Denge looks at Penelope holding her double sword that she is so obviously not proficient with, but insists on carrying into battle, and nods to her.

Silently he says to her
"Be steady the time is close"

Denge will silently cast Mage Armor on Penelope.
