Dak takes a deep, calming breath and aims carefully at the heavily damaged fighter; if he can take that down, perhaps the pilot can get them through the turbolaser barrage. He takes another deep breath, then fires. The blast punches through the fighter's already weakened shield, and slams straight into the cockpit, leaving nothing but debris. I hope that wasn't a friend of mine... Dak thinks to himself as he moves his turret into position to fire on the fighter ahead of them. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak opens fire on the nearest fighter; trying to focus his attention on the vessels that are moving towards the ship. Unfortunately, its pilot activates one of its lateral thrusters just as Dak pulls the trigger; the beam passing below the fighter's new position. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
If no one else has volunteered by this point, Dak heads towards the second turret, hoping that his reflexes will help to make up for his lack of training. I don't have the feat for this, but with 16 DEX I'm only at a -2 net penalty; if someone here will have less of a penalty, then please speak up ;).

Dak feels where his broken nose from fighting the Tuskens has been reset; it's still a little crooked, but at least he can breathe properly now. He had several to drink over the night, and ended up in a fight with someone who had a problem with Corellians. He can't remember who won, if either of them could be said to have done so, but after they were split up he does remember discussing martial arts styles with the man over yet more drink.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
"Several times our number in Tuskens. These are the droids we were looking for; beyond that, we haven't succeeded until that kriffing traitor Tarkin gets to explain the Emperor why he tried to kill his son, and the new Rebel station goes boom," Dak replies darkly. He hasn't spoken much since arriving on the planet; mostly because Correlians aren't exactly popular in Empire space, so it's possible some of the locals haven't heard his accent.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak winces as he picks up his dropped weaponry and climbs over the side of his speeder. The bleeding from his nose has slowed now, and isn't really anything too serious. "Thank the force for that," he comments when Loreck speaks. "I'm not so sure we could cope with another fight like that one right now. So, what now?" Currently at 18/26 HP, and I've spent my second wind for the day. I can make do without treatment for now. In fact, I reckon Sho needs it more than anyone...
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak gasps, trying to regain his breath before dropping his pistol and swings wildly at his attacker's lower ribs. He is quite badly distracted by the blood flowing from his now broken nose, however, and misses by a mile. Using a swift action to take my second wind. Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak drops his rifle and draws his DL-44, firing at the nearest Tusken who's still standing. This time, Dak's marksmanship is somewhat improved, and the bolt of plasma hits his target square in the chest. Attack: 1d30 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak opens fire on the Tusken that Call missed. Unfortunately, his incredibly poor shots are making him more and more impatient, which has the interesting effect of making his shots even less accurate. Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
I just realised I should have been adding three to those attack rolls; not 1; though again with these rolls, I doubt it makes much difference...
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak does the same, lying prone as he aims through the scope of his rifle; adjusting the knobs on the side and top for range and wind. He squeezes his trigger on the exhale, putting a single slug downrange. Unfortunately, just as he finishes squeezing the trigger, the raider lowers his head, for whatever reason, and the slug passes over him. A couple of seconds later, he hears the bang. Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
I'm spending two swift actions to aim at the Tusken on X9, so my target doesn't get any cover, and I don't get a range penalty. Not that it makes any difference, with a roll like that...
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak nods. "Sounds like a good plan - the kind of thing I bring my rifle along for - I can still get relatively clean hits at a little over two hundred meters, though around ninety would be preferable," he says. "So, if we can find somewhere around that distance away, I should be able to pepper them with slugs and force them to keep their heads down; stopping them from being able to return fire on the rest of the squad as easily."
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak retrieves his rifle, then draws his pistol. The Kensae may be able to sense conflicted feelings as he points it at the unconscious raider and prepares to fire. "Sorry friend; you picked the wrong guys to attack, and I don't trust you not to stab us in the back when you wake up. It's this or tie you up and leave you to die of thirst," he says sadly, before shooting his fallen foe in the face. That's a coup de grace. Normally I wouldn't, but the situation isn't exactly normal.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak tries not to grumble as he trudges through the desert ahead of the rest of the party, keeping a lookout for any possible dangers. He has his rifle in his hands rather than his pistol; at the kind of range an engagement would occur out here, his pistol would be next to useless... Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak grumbles as he gets to his feet, then heads over to the escape pod to see if there's any data he can salvage from the on board computers - a location, for example, and the location of the nearest town. While he's doing this, he says, "Does anyone know what happened to the prisoners?" Just so you know, I'm completely untrained in Use Computer, so assuming the computer won't blow up or something on a failed roll, I might as well take 20 (or 10 if I can't take 20), and then take 10 on any tracking rolls. Use Computer (Taking 20): 21
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
As soon as the route behind them is sealed, Dak heads forward and topples a table, taking cover behind it and aiming his pistol in the direction the group came from. The Mandos will eventually catch up with them, and he plans to be ready when they do... Readying to take a shot if any enemies get within range from behind us.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak snarls and opens fire on the Mandalorian who hit DeWry. The first shot goes wide of the mark, hitting the ceiling above the target's head. The second one, however, is a far better shot, as Dak takes a deep, calming breath; knowing that he needs to give the Mandos reason to take cover. "They're here; we need to get moving - NOW!" he shouts as he moves into cover. Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Dak raises his pistol, aiming it towards the team's flank. While the odds are low of any threats in the opposite side to where they entered, it's a possibility so that's where he keeps his pistol trained; planning to open fire on anyone they haven't yet noticed. Readying an action to fire on any enemies entering H18-J16 - not because I expect any enemies there; just because it's better to be safe than sorry and I'm in the best position to make sure we don't get flanked.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
Can't delete or edit it any more, so I'll add the following instead. Just as Dak is about to pull the trigger, however, Luke has already cut down the last remaining rebel. He lowers his pistol and heads to a rearguard position so as to ensure that the squad isn't flanked later.
Male Human Scout/Soldier 1/1 (2)
"Dak Calgar," Dak introduces himself, his Corellian accent fairly noticeable. He then adds to the rest of the group, in a tone that suggests he's had to say this far too many times already, "And before anyone says anything about my accent, I'm an Imperial citizen first. If I meet any old friends from home on this ship, rest assured that I'll shoot them just as quickly. They chose their side. And with that out of the way, it's a pleasure to meet you all. Nice seeing you again by the way, Master DeWry."

1. I hadn't noticed. Thanks for that. 2. I'll update that momentarily. Though I thought the defence bonus was a different feat (Defensive Martial Arts), or was that something that got removed from Revised Edition? 3. It's been a while, so I forgot to add the +1 for being human, so I'll get on that ;). Edit: just looked it up; apparently I was mistaken. Also, I was just looking through the errata, and came across this: Quote:
Does that mean I should ignore the stun damage listing on my blaster pistol and simply assume that the stun damage is identical to the normal damage, or is it a case of the errata being even more confusing than the rules it's supposed to update?

Here. Dak stands about five feet ten and wears a basic blast vest and helmet (bought out of his own 1500 credits, since only Stormies and Kensae get armour as standard). Holstered at his side is a BlasTech DL44 (750 Credits) and, when on a mission where range may be an issue, slung over his shoulder is a slug throwing rifle with a targeting scope (300 for the rifle; 100 for the scope). His skin is faintly tanned, though not so much as it once was, his hair is dark brown and his eyes are a greenish blue. |
