I'm submitting Cyrene here, a virtuous bravo crossed inquisitor who is a paladin of Shelyn. She's all about art, beauty, love and redemption for everyone - most especially her brother who abandoned her and turned to the worship of Zon Kuthon. (Yes, I'm deliberately mirroring the Shelyn/Zon Kuthon storyline - just hoping for a happier ending!)

Party role is a dex tank who is a lot more skilled than paladins usually are! She is 100% about redemption and has both the inquisition and the diplomacy score to back it up!

Final note: the creature in her background is a Zana whose mountain was swallowed when Sarkoris fell to the Worldwound and rescued the two children when they were lost and starving on the mountain slopes. I've always thought they were really cool and a nice creature to work into a background.

I think we need to add another full-time player.

Yeah - you probably should. Sorry I've not been around much, my availability for Paizo has been fluctuating much more than it used to and I'm holding the game up which isn't fair to any of you. None of my other games are moving very fast but this one is and I don't want to spoil it.

I'll drop so you guys can recruit as many players as you want/need and have a few more roles to offer. Thanks for the game everyone, it's been good fun and excellently managed by FangDragon!

With no easy way to access the building, but a keen sense for when Val is lying, Cyrene settles silently into waiting by the front of the house. Assuming that the bluff works she wants to see how the person inside observes them - because they will, almost certainly...

| HP: 31/31| AC: 19 | CMB: 2 CMD: 16 | F: +7, R: +8, W: +7 | Init: +5 [7]| Active conditions:

Cyrene quirks an eyebrow at the angry greeting and slips away to check if the house has a back entrance that she might use - quietly. Presumably the woman leaves somehow, or gets deliveries somehow.

As any good assassin knows, a living target always leaves a way in. Dead ones... don't.

Cyrene frowns and then stoops to pick up a discarded shoe before slinging it across the street at one of the angry mobsters.

Throw, Improvised Weapon?: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 - 2 = 141d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

She will have tried for something non-lethal rather than a stone or sharp object.

I'm happy to switch to ranged if that would be a preferred solution. Might give Cyrene a slightly more distinct role compared to Trip - vigilantes can do some pretty nasty archer stuff.

If we prefer to bring another player in I'm fine with that too. :)

Cyrene falls into step with the others. She'd prefer to be dealing with Merkondus (in a more permanent fashion) but Lope's logic is good.

On the way she slips away for a minute and returns with a collection of steaming buns which she hands out with a smile (reserving a second one for Trip who she just knows will inhale her first).

"So, are we expecting trouble or just a crazy cat lady?" She asks lightly.

I just don't have much to offer in these scenes. :)

Cyrene by design isn't a 'get up to the front of the group and talk' kinda person. I think it makes perfect sense that Lope and Diana are the group faces - those are the people that would be expected to do all the talking so it makes sense.

Now we're out of the council chambers I can have a bit more to offer, but there's only so many ways to post "Cyrene lurks anonymously at the back of the group".

[Please not this is definitely not a criticism - you guys are all doing great! This is purely the result of my choices :)]

"I'll deal with the Earl." Cyrene offers. "Let me know if you want someone to come to a meeting with, Trip."

The Gilded Baldachin is a pleasant enough place for some debauchery but it isn't the kind of place that Cyrene is going to find what she really needs so she slips away from the inn and starts wandering town to find a tavern full of the disreputable and seedy. That's where the real fun is.

Tomorrow she'll get to work learning about the Earl but tonight is about her in a new city. It's going to be fun!

Mechanically she's investing time into establishing her Obscurity.

In PF2 they've changed that so that changelings can be both genders - that may simply be Paizo's general drive to "all gender inclusivity" but it allows for some more flexibility on the RP-ing front if its desired.

I should probably put some thought into Cyrene and potential evolution. She's done enough in this book that things might be changed a little.

Finally, many thanks to GMFangDragon, you're doing an excellent job to keep up such a consistent game and I'm very much enjoying it. This is my second time playing through the AP and you're making the story your own wonderfully (and dealing extremely well with my splitting the party!). Thank you very much for all your hard work!

Cyrene strips the corpses with swift efficiency as her wounds close over with unnatural speed. Val, at least, can tell when she straightens that the demonic assassin is still in considerable pain but she does a good job of hiding it.

"I'll deal with this." She offers, "You should go inside."

----------------------------------------------
For the rest of the visit Cyrene makes sure to stay in her humanoid guise and very much out of the way. It's unlikely that the baroness will connect the demonic figure, half seen in the darkness, with Valeria's quiet and retiring maid, but caution is the watchword of a good operative.

Quite how she makes all the assassin's gear disappear is another matter entirely but on the coach ride back she produces it all for the groups evaluation and eventual use.
