I have no idea. The Creature didn't seem to take its last turn. It has not acted since my last post when I channeled energy, so I cannot imagine I am up again.

He steps back from the skeletal creature.

"A relic to a foul god or demon, perhaps," Cassander muses. He approaches the crouched figure for a closer look.

"Is it alive?" Cassander wonders aloud. "Or perhaps one of the undead? Or was some ancient and foul magic worked here?"

Cassander stops short at Trezsia's warning. He draws his sword and regards his surroundings carefully.

"This could be holy water, but I cannot discern it clearly. It radiates magic nonetheless."

Cassander moves into the larger room to examine the still figure.

Cassander listens quietly to the Penitent's sermonizing. While a servant of the divine himself, he always found deeds more powerful than chastisements which only tend to make their subjects dig in their heels further. Better to show the way than to preach it, he thinks to himself.

He moves toward the basin and regards it with some wonder. "Some magic must keep the algae at bay," he muses aloud, hoping to change the subject. "This water should be foul from years of neglect and stagnation." He casts detect magic upon the basin and its contents.

Cassander moves into the room carefully, peering into the darkness with his supernatural sight. He approaches far enough to look through the doorway into the next room, always on the lookout for possible dangers.

"I do not hear anything, but we should be cautious nonetheless," Cassander says, his fingers on the hilt of his blade.

Cassander looks over the features of the structure. "I would not expect to see construction in this cavern. I cannot imagine that anything wholesome would live down here." He listens at the door for signs of habitation.

Cassander moves in to assist the Penitent.

If I can, I would want to move in to the right of the Penitent and attack the bug. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

"A lot of nearly half a score, sneaking by demons? Some injured, no less?" Cassander says plainly to Horgus. "I do not suspect we will sneak by much of anything."

He progresses onward with the others.

Cassander stands by the Red Penitent, his wariness turning to resolve. His fingers tighten around the hilt of his sword. "I do not expect to find friends in this place. Be on your guard."

Cassander moves 10 feet east to attack, next to the Penitent and NW of the nearest snake.

Cassander wordlessly rushes to the aid of his allies. He swings his sword at the nearest snake.

"Somebody was here before us, although I do not know how long ago that was." Cassander looks around the campsite for any signs of who was here.

Cassander perks up at once and rushes back to the others.

"It has fled," Cassander says, turning to the others. "Perhaps it seeks easier prey."

I am okay with calling off pursuit if this thing isn't bothering us anymore.

"The aura of darkness covers only a small area," Cassander calls out behind him. "Ahead, our sources of light function normally. But I do not see where the other vermin has gone."

With one cockroach slain, Cassander pursues the other in the darkness.

Most likely a double move, unless I can reach it in a move action.

As the cockroach skitters past, Cassander takes the opening to swing his sword at the nasty bug.

Cassander advances to the cockroach by Tasnim. "Be careful, those of you who cannot see in this darkness. Be strong. The light will prevail."

He hacks at the cockroach with his sword.

Yes, Cassander wouldn't be scouting ahead, but he would be with the group as they progress. Probably somewhere right behind Xion.

I am assuming that Cassander can still see since he has darkvision, but I also assume I do not have enough movement (speed 20) to reach the cockroaches in a move action. Let me know if those assumptions are incorrect.

Cassander will rush into the room, mace at the ready. (Double moving adjacent to nearest cockroach.)

Cassander nods in understanding. "We will hold onto them then." He follows the others as they investigate the next part of the cavern.

"My name is Cassander and I am not an angel," Cassander says to Trezsia. "There is a shaft perhaps a foot wide leading up into the darkness. I do now know whether it reaches the surface."

As Xion inspects the scale, Cassander asks, "Do you have skill at identifying potions? There were some in that pack."

"I do not know if anyone here is adept at identifying potions," Cassander says to Horgus. He follows the rest of the group.

"This route does not appear to be a dead end. Should we check the other chamber to see if it is?" Cassander asks his companions.

"If we find who this bag belongs to, we can return it. In the meantime, if our need requires it, I think we could use the equipment. Whatever we use I shall replace if we find the owner. There are desperate times..."

Does this tunnel continue?
