I've been taking a really hard look at the games I'm in and I think I need to bow out of this one.

- INACTIVE -

With the robot grappled, Cera moves on the Android and slashes at it with her Kukri.

mwk kukri, rage, accurate stance: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 30 for slashing: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

confirm crit: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 28 for slashing: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6

- INACTIVE -

Cera's eyes get a cold gleam as she steps towards the collector bot and slices at it with her Kukri. "You will not harm my new friends" she says to it in a deep, cold, hard voice.

mwk kukri, rage, accurate stance: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 14 for slashing: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8

I think this bot will be a problem if it's DR/hardness is higher than 6!

- INACTIVE -

leveled up. The proximity helmet looks cool; I'll take it if no one else wants it

- INACTIVE -

Thanks! Baby is perfect.

Looks like I need to level for the boss fight! Will try to do that this weekend

- INACTIVE -

My wife thinks she's in labor right now. I probably won't post for the next week. Please bot me as necessary.

- INACTIVE -

Cera hesitates for a moment. "Yes... yes, I will go back with you."

- INACTIVE -

"Thank you Joram." Cera says.

"What now?" She asks no one in particular, maybe even herself. Do things go back to normal? Do I keep hiding behind the protection of Khonnir in this town?

- INACTIVE -

"Are the nanites still in him?" Cera asks, looking at Khonnir.

- INACTIVE -

Sorry for not posting today. I had a work-over-the-weekend project that exploded into an all nighter. Expect a post from me tomorrow or Wednesday and bot me until then

- INACTIVE -

Cera follows close behind Khonnir. Wanting to be seen as one of his rescuers and also not wanting to be far from her protector.

"He hasn't spoken yet... I am concerned for his health." she says to the council

- INACTIVE -

"This is Khonnir. I think we should take him back soon."

Cera is untrained in knowledge nature so she can't beat the DC. She has +7 knowledge local though

- INACTIVE -

Cera tells Khonnir to sit down and leaves her waterskin with him, then joins Morgan at the next door, kukri and shield at the ready.

- INACTIVE -

"Can you tell us what you were doing here? Can we help you with anything? They would like to see you safe back in town." Cera adds.

- INACTIVE -

I imagine the GM is still sorting out some pretty big life changes and will eventually return to a more regular posting rate. Or decide to call off the game. In the latter case we could look for a new GM.

However I am willing to wait a fair bit longer

- INACTIVE -

"I am glad we found you," Cera says. Smile! Humans like that as a way to express positive emotion she reminds herself and sticks a smile on her face. The expression looks a little unnatural, like it might be unfamiliar to her.

- INACTIVE -

does he look familiar to Cera?

"Let me help you out if there" she says and reaches to pull him up

- INACTIVE -

Cera moves to the banging pod and tries to open it

- INACTIVE -

Cera waits around the corner a moment for her new friend to get into position. Then when she hears the battle cry she turns the corner and advances, with much less stealth, instinctively dropping into the familiar cold fury of battle. She swings her kukri, aiming for vital parts of the drone.

mwk kukri, rage: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27 for slashing: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6

confirm crit, anatomist: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 15 for slashing: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6

- INACTIVE -

"That is what I joined you to do,"

1 person marked this as a favorite.
- INACTIVE -

I am still here

- INACTIVE -

Cera nods. "I see. What a curious place. We will return in the morning, you say?"

- INACTIVE -

Val was the missing Wizard's daughter, I thought

- INACTIVE -

Cera is eager to get back to the caves, and still awaits a high level overview of the adventurers so far

Eager to disengage from gambling Watanabe talks to the woman, "You are correct. How do you know him?" As Watanabe talks he will explain what the party has experienced so far. I can do a recap if you really want, but that could be boring.

Cera blinks at Watanabe. How much to say? she wonders to herself. "I was a house guest of his, lately."

Maybe a clif-notes recap? I should probably read up on the gameplay thread.

The GM is supposed to make a check for her Disguise attempt. She is changing minor details only, so her total bonus is +9, and she has a trait to let her ignore the -2 penalty for disguising as a different race. If it were up to me I would take 10, but the rules say the GM makes the check.

Disguise Rules wrote:

Your Disguise check result determines how good the disguise is, and it is opposed by others’ Perception check results. If you don’t draw any attention to yourself, others do not get to make Perception checks. If you come to the attention of people who are suspicious (such as a guard who is watching commoners walking through a city gate), it can be assumed that such observers are taking 10 on their Perception checks.

You get only one Disguise check per use of the skill, even if several people make Perception checks against it. The Disguise check is made secretly, so that you can’t be sure how good the result is.

So I think that either you took 10 for 13 or didn't even notice.

People's faces were hard to read, but it seemed to her that she had been given more and more strange looks since she had been disguising herself without the help of his magic.

As the party seems neither to reject her nor give a reply of any kind, Cera falls into line, a little confused. She seems uncomfortable at the casino, and settles in to leaning against a wall or pillar and watching, having none of the vouchers for herself.

GM:
every day, to try to avoid prejudice, Cera disguises herself as a human woman. She does this with a disguise kit and, thanks to a trait, does not take the -2 penalty for trying to appear human. Since she isn't trying to look like someone else, I would think she also gets the additional +5 for only making minor changes. The rules for disguise say "The Disguise check is made secretly, so that you can't be sure how good the result is." But otherwise I would take 10. Just so you know, GM

If we go 6 ways it's 125 each. I'm game

- INACTIVE -

I think Cera here is up to date. How shall we introduce her? Maybe the wizard's daughter finally persuaded her to overcome her fears and come help? The tavern would give her some anxiety though

- INACTIVE -

Okay, as I update my character I'm finding a few little things here and there.

For one I am upgrading to 20 point buy, which is nice. Now my questions:
Are three traits and a drawback allowed? Are we using background skills or even consolidated skills? Are we doing the "no feat tax" alternate rules? Is it okay for me to take the Combat Stamina feat? I had it before and am a fan. Planning to stick with it right now, although Quick Draw is tempting to be able to throw a javelin and swing a kukri while raging.

- INACTIVE -

Right!

- INACTIVE -

I will be surprised if the GM doesn't allow the Unchained barbarian Android interaction. I will be less surprised if he doesn't let me port the savage technologist archetype back to unchained barbarian. I don't remember what I had planned but I think it was suboptimal; TWF with a melee weapon and a gun is what this Archetype is about and that sounds kind of bad for a barbarian.

I will hold off on leveling up until I hear from the GM, though. If he lets me keep as-is then I just adjust for his starting parameters vs the previous GM's, but otherwise I'll have to change Archetype or possibly even class.

- INACTIVE -

I have never seen the "if you can't pay the price" FAQ; where is it? I believe Oracle/Barbarian is a popular combo for exactly the reasons you state are not possible. EDIT: I suspect you are confused, I checked again and Lame Oracle + Barbarian is definitely a well-known gimmick.

Unchained Barbarians give an untyped bonus from rage, not a morale bonus.

- INACTIVE -

Hello hello! I will be your other frontliner.

I think I may have played with a few of you before. Regardless, this character is from another Iron Gods play-through that petered out pretty quickly. It may take me a day or two to level up.

C3-RA is an Android that has been disguising herself as a human to avoid prejudice. She doesn't get out much (for reasons I'll have to go and look at notes and previous posts to find) so she mostly stayed with whats-his-face and his daughter.

Happy to answer any questions, and I am sure I will have some for y'all soon enough.

- INACTIVE -

I am going to bow out of this game. Please remove me from the gameplay thread.

- INACTIVE -

scimitar, attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Cera retaliates by swinging (and missing) at the beetle.

- INACTIVE -

FYI I am attending a conference this week. There are even a few events for it the next two evenings. Please do not hesitate to bot me, though I will post when I can.

- INACTIVE -

Cera steps up to the most forward one (blue) and swings at it with a mighty blow.

scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

- INACTIVE -

fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Cera looks around inside the cavern, oblivious to the need of the rest of the party for light.

survival, untrained: 1d20 ⇒ 16

looks like one of the beetles is up before us

- INACTIVE -

"Thank you. I certainly cannot afford your wares, though.”

anyone else we wanted to see before we go swimming?

- INACTIVE -

Cera eyes all the stuff the party can't afford. "Can you give us any of this? To help us in our task?"

- INACTIVE -

Cera nods, then remembers she's supposed to say something. "Thank you, Val." She heads towards the door, but turns around before leaving.

"I believe we will find your father."

ready to go to the next NPC. Sorry I dropped the ball here.

- INACTIVE -

Cera opens her mouth to answer, hold on, humans like greetings and formalities. "Good to see you again, Val. We are here to ask what your father might have told you about the caves. We are going to go in after him."

- INACTIVE -

Between packing tonight, traveling, and doing con related things, I will be busy with GenCon from now until Sunday. I don't expect to be caught up to speed until Monday or Tuesday.

If any of y'all will be playing organized play at GenCon and want to meet up, send me a PM! I enjoy the tables much more when playing with a friend.

I will continue to read posts through the RSS feed and may drop in for a post, but please bot me whenever it becomes necessary.

- INACTIVE -

I stuck Cera at the end of the hallway so the party can stack up behind her.
Is Tam up, and then the robot? Or are we all up?

Cera's Actions, if she is up:
Cera opens the inner door and runs into the other room to see the robot.
move to open the door, move 40' to go into the room with the robot and get as close as possible. Please move her on the map when evaluating this post

where's the person we heard screaming?

- INACTIVE -

Are you okay, GM? You asked us to post once a day in recruitment but it has been over a week since we've heard from you.

- INACTIVE -

I'm back, though you're welcome to bot me the next time I'm gone that long. I see we're not in initiative so I placed Cera inside the door. She would have been the first one to reach it, technically, but I'm fine with this since Tam can open the door

Cera bursts into the room and looks around.

AC is 2 lower since she isn't wearing her shield

- INACTIVE -

I am on vacation this week. I will be keeping up with my games off and on via RSS, but please do not hold anything up waiting for me. There should be botting instructions in my profile. Do not hesitate to use them to move things forward.

- INACTIVE -

Cera disregards Tam. Having no idea what his hand signals mean, she drops into a dead sprint toward the house, or as much of one as she could muster. That could be her friend. Or at least she thought that Val was a friend. And she was pretty sure that friends help each other.

double move towards the gap between the building, drawing scimitar as she goes. If she can take more than one round of actions, please move her to the door of the house so she can open it.
