caps here. I would love to play Shattered Star with this character.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I'm going to stop tracking this campaign. PM me if the GM ever comes back.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I wish the GM would come back. :-(

I would love to play with this character. His shattered star game came to a much too early end. I would happily level him up to 2. He is a gnome illusion/enchantment sorcerer.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Right. Either a GM sees these messages and decides to do it or we disband (or Poblano Pepper comes back). We won't press it further than that, but we will wait patiently. If no GM shows up, our patience fizzles out and the problem is solved.

All that to say I think we are pretty early in book one.

Gang,

This is early enough in the AP that I would suggest just disbanding. It's early enough that you don't have to take a chronicle. Declare the game a misfire, and just drop. I would bid the game adieu and just let this one go if you cannot find a replacement GM.

Hmm

I think you've summed up our options. :-p

Either a) Poblano Pepper comes back b) a GM volunteers to pick it up or c) we disband.

We will discuss replacement players if a or b happens, otherwise there's no point.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I'm poking the lodge again to see about a) someone reaching out to the current GM again and b) getting a new GM if he's not coming back

Still have not heard from GM Poblano Pepper. If he is coming back soon we are willing to wait but we have had two players bail already. If he will not be back could we get a replacement GM before we lose any more? He was running Shattered Stars in PFS Campaign Mode. We are in book one and it would be nice to at least finish that much of it.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I could post requesting a new GM.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I checked with a friend of the GM (via the flaxseed lodge) and I believe we will hear *something* from the GM. Not sure when, but it shouldn't take weeks for him to give us an update on whether the game will continue or not.

We haven't heard anything from him in a couple weeks, which seems uncharacteristic (unless it's not? I don't actually know).

I believe he is - I just pinged him on FB to let him know someone is asking.

Let me know if you hear anything back.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I am waiting longer. If he were a less reputable GM I might agree. I think something came up in his personal life.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Yeah what happened here?

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble waggles his eyebrows at the team and murmurs a spell, working his fingers. Then with a snap and a clap a crude and colorless toy boat appears in the palm of his hand. He sets it in the basket and then knocks on the wood of the skiffs.

I won't make you roll spellcraft. It was prestidigitation

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

busy week starts today. Feel free to bot me as soon as everyone else acts, it's tactically convenient, or my PC can address the check at hand.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I will be at a conference for work next week (M-F) with very limited time to post. There should be a Bot Me spoiler in my profile (please let me know ASAP if it is missing or empty) that you can use to bot me if any actions are waiting on me.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

adventuring 101, always have a cold iron and a silver backup weapon. They can be very cheap so there's no excuse not to once you have a few spare gold. If one falls in your lap, hold onto it.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

can't beat that even on a natural 20. Bumble will gladly take an invis potion. I have no idea what gear a level 1 caster could make use of so I'm good for now

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

somehow I missed a post in my RSS feed... I was still waiting for him to answer us and then I saw us turning him in. Anyway, I see the post now and understand what's happening. Can I ninja in a question right after his confession about trying to turn is into the Aspis?

"Who did you hear of us from? What made you think we would be interested in the Nidalese slavers?"

Bumble is deeply suspicious, and his paranoid brain is jumping in every direction. Did the lady sell us out? Or is there a spy in her house? Is this an elaborate ruse to get us captured or killed? Who else knows about us and our mission?! I thought this was secret!

maybe I'm forgetting something from our briefing but this is ringing major alarm bells for me. We leave the manor and before we even reach the rumor-mill dude he's already heard rumors meant to lure us to the warehouse? How did this Aspis dude know we were working for a Pathfinder? Bumble has never described himself that way. I'm legitimately concerned about how he found this out and who else might be in on it.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble nods along.

that's what he would have said. Although he wouldn't give away his bargaining chips so quickly :-p

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble nods. "You don't want to go up against us *and* our friends at once. Best to surrender now and tell us who you are and what you're doing here."

bluff: 10 + 8 = 18

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble jumps up and frantically runs out the door and towards the warehouse. He murmurs a spell, and the sound of someone banging on the farthest door can be heard.

casting ghost sound to make it sound like someone is about to break the door down on the side farthest from us

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

ooh, pick me, pick me! Bumble can get a 16 on stealth while taking 10

Bumble drums his fingers absently on the bar counter while he waits.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble smiles a little. They are sharper than I thought. Not bad.

"Where could we find the Sczarni leaders?"

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Although not a particular skilled negotiator himself, Bumble is somewhat horrified at his partners's willingness to state their intentions directly and pay face value. But not wanting to embarrass himself or the team further, he keeps his mouth shut

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble manages to keep his smile, but inside he is crestfallen. Work! She's going to make me work. But, having never seen that much gold so close to his reach at one time, he can't resist. What a scheme. Work!

--

When he sees the missing persons board, his mouth goes dry. 500 gold! Better start finding these folks before the mayor gets some sense in his head... Maybe I can work my share up to a thousand!

Looking eagerly to the party, his head full of gold lust and his mistrust, at least at the moment, set aside, Bumble exclaims "Let's get started!"

let's start with the Amazing Zograthy

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble listens to his companions chat as he waits for an answer to his question.

Does he really now know the Sczarni or is it just an act?

Have to keep a close eye on the Caydenite... if he's in bed with the Sczarni this could get complicated.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble gives Sheila a charming smile. "Your note mentioned compensation for meeting you here today?"

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

I'll be pretty busy until probably next Thursday. I'm not sure what my posting rate will look like day to day. Don't hesitate to bot me if I haven't posted yet on a given day and am holding things up. There should be a Bot Me spoiler at the bottom of my profile but if there is not, recent posts should be indicative.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

After trying Lucre, Bumble sets his inquisitive, gnomish, puzzle mind to work.

Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Raw Intelligence, with Aid: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9
Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

GM, my highest roll is a 19

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble, his mind always on wealth, decides to try "LUCRE"

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

All thought of schemes, angles, and the like fall out of Fidget's had at the sight of the box. A puzzle!!! he runs up to it and starts running his fingers over all of the grooves, tracing them out for a pattern.

not sure why I picked Ghost Sound over detect magic as a cantrip. If the GM will let me switch this early on I would like to.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Blaze's excitement brings a twinkle to Fidget's eyes as he smiles at the other gnome, and laughs.

Gnomish:
"That does have a nice ring to it." He pauses. "Especially if it also makes me fabulously rich."

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble gives Blaze an assessing glance. Have to keep an eye on that one.

He declines a drink from Dragox. Got to watch that one too; maybe a simpleton but it could be an act.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble reads the letter closely, his eyebrows dancing up and down at his thoughts. Flattery, yes, yes. And vague promises, too, yes. But the angle will reveal all. It's clear she's playing us. Bumble gives the rest of the party a sidelong glance. But can I beat her at this game? "Compensation" for the visit is nice and all, but what's this proposition all about... His thoughts wander and he begins to take a closer look at each of his companions. Introductions? Introductions for trust. Got to have trust for these games, yes.

He offers the party an adorable, truly winning smile, followed by a very fine bow. "Bumble Rumbleberry, magician extraordinare, at your service."

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Bumble is ready. If I have the downtime to think about it before we are well and truly started, I might switch some of his traits around, but I'm also fine with the ones he currently has.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Strictly speaking you cannot, but in my home games I allow Desna and Cayden. Perhaps the GM will allow it since this is campaign mode.

Right now we have
Archer Fighter
Cleric
Illusion/Enchantment Sorcerer
Rogue

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

That looks like a great SOP. I also like to include something about which way to go when there are multiple options so we're not continuously stopping for the GM to ask which door to take. I like the Rule of Left.

Bumble has dancing lights and torches. I'll pick up some splash weapons as well; thanks for the reminder.

It makes sense to carry cold iron arrows (for archers) and a cold iron backup weapon. They're so cheap it's usually easy to do, even with starting gold.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Good topic! Obviously there will be non-dungeon-crawl content in this AP. But for the dungeon crawls I've had really good experience (10+ levels of Emerald Spire) with Standard Operating Procedures defined by the party (in conjunction with the GM) to move the party through the dungeon at a healthy clip. Otherwise play really bogs down with all the little decisions to make and actions to take. An SOP can keep things humming along until the bigger decisions come up.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Good point on the dagger. I'll do that.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

This is Bumble. Or Fidget. Or any nickname you want to come up with for him.

He is a fey-touched sorcerer. Although he's spent plenty of his life in the "wild" lately he's been spending a lot of time in Varisia, where the residents are so much easier to trick, deceive, and play tricks on--except when they're not. Luckily, he's very good at putting them out of commission long enough to get away.

His specialty is high-DC enchantment, compulsion, and illusion spells. Right now his spell selection is:
0: acid splash, dancing lights, daze (DC 18), ghost sound (DC 16)
1 (5/5): color spray (DC 17), sleep (DC 19)
I'm not very experienced with casters, so I always try to get input from the table on my selection. This feels good for what I'm going for, but I'm open to suggestions; particularly if you think I should swap one for another CORE enchantment, illusion, or compulsion spell.

He is also my first time making a character with *NO*. *WEAPONS*. Wish me luck!

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

Sorcerer doesn't come with Diplomacy as a class skill and I'm not currently planning on using a trait to gain it. I probably should though... but I'm all there for Bluff.

- INACTIVE - (GM abandoned game)

caps here. Just dotting in.
