I think you've summed up our options. :-p Either a) Poblano Pepper comes back b) a GM volunteers to pick it up or c) we disband. We will discuss replacement players if a or b happens, otherwise there's no point.

We are early in the AP, yes. We are also fairly early in the book. I have never read, run, or played the AP, but it opens with us trying to find someone, and we haven't found them yet. There have been little to no combats but we've talked to a handful of people. All that to say I think we are pretty early in book one.

Still have not heard from GM Poblano Pepper. If he is coming back soon we are willing to wait but we have had two players bail already. If he will not be back could we get a replacement GM before we lose any more? He was running Shattered Stars in PFS Campaign Mode. We are in book one and it would be nice to at least finish that much of it.

Bumble waggles his eyebrows at the team and murmurs a spell, working his fingers. Then with a snap and a clap a crude and colorless toy boat appears in the palm of his hand. He sets it in the basket and then knocks on the wood of the skiffs. I won't make you roll spellcraft. It was prestidigitation

somehow I missed a post in my RSS feed... I was still waiting for him to answer us and then I saw us turning him in. Anyway, I see the post now and understand what's happening. Can I ninja in a question right after his confession about trying to turn is into the Aspis? "Who did you hear of us from? What made you think we would be interested in the Nidalese slavers?" Bumble is deeply suspicious, and his paranoid brain is jumping in every direction. Did the lady sell us out? Or is there a spy in her house? Is this an elaborate ruse to get us captured or killed? Who else knows about us and our mission?! I thought this was secret! maybe I'm forgetting something from our briefing but this is ringing major alarm bells for me. We leave the manor and before we even reach the rumor-mill dude he's already heard rumors meant to lure us to the warehouse? How did this Aspis dude know we were working for a Pathfinder? Bumble has never described himself that way. I'm legitimately concerned about how he found this out and who else might be in on it.

Bumble jumps up and frantically runs out the door and towards the warehouse. He murmurs a spell, and the sound of someone banging on the farthest door can be heard. casting ghost sound to make it sound like someone is about to break the door down on the side farthest from us

Bumble manages to keep his smile, but inside he is crestfallen. Work! She's going to make me work. But, having never seen that much gold so close to his reach at one time, he can't resist. What a scheme. Work! -- When he sees the missing persons board, his mouth goes dry. 500 gold! Better start finding these folks before the mayor gets some sense in his head... Maybe I can work my share up to a thousand! Looking eagerly to the party, his head full of gold lust and his mistrust, at least at the moment, set aside, Bumble exclaims "Let's get started!" let's start with the Amazing Zograthy

I'll be pretty busy until probably next Thursday. I'm not sure what my posting rate will look like day to day. Don't hesitate to bot me if I haven't posted yet on a given day and am holding things up. There should be a Bot Me spoiler at the bottom of my profile but if there is not, recent posts should be indicative.

After trying Lucre, Bumble sets his inquisitive, gnomish, puzzle mind to work. Raw Intelligence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
GM, my highest roll is a 19

All thought of schemes, angles, and the like fall out of Fidget's had at the sight of the box. A puzzle!!! he runs up to it and starts running his fingers over all of the grooves, tracing them out for a pattern. not sure why I picked Ghost Sound over detect magic as a cantrip. If the GM will let me switch this early on I would like to.

Bumble reads the letter closely, his eyebrows dancing up and down at his thoughts. Flattery, yes, yes. And vague promises, too, yes. But the angle will reveal all. It's clear she's playing us. Bumble gives the rest of the party a sidelong glance. But can I beat her at this game? "Compensation" for the visit is nice and all, but what's this proposition all about... His thoughts wander and he begins to take a closer look at each of his companions. Introductions? Introductions for trust. Got to have trust for these games, yes. He offers the party an adorable, truly winning smile, followed by a very fine bow. "Bumble Rumbleberry, magician extraordinare, at your service."

That looks like a great SOP. I also like to include something about which way to go when there are multiple options so we're not continuously stopping for the GM to ask which door to take. I like the Rule of Left. Bumble has dancing lights and torches. I'll pick up some splash weapons as well; thanks for the reminder. It makes sense to carry cold iron arrows (for archers) and a cold iron backup weapon. They're so cheap it's usually easy to do, even with starting gold.

Good topic! Obviously there will be non-dungeon-crawl content in this AP. But for the dungeon crawls I've had really good experience (10+ levels of Emerald Spire) with Standard Operating Procedures defined by the party (in conjunction with the GM) to move the party through the dungeon at a healthy clip. Otherwise play really bogs down with all the little decisions to make and actions to take. An SOP can keep things humming along until the bigger decisions come up.

This is Bumble. Or Fidget. Or any nickname you want to come up with for him. He is a fey-touched sorcerer. Although he's spent plenty of his life in the "wild" lately he's been spending a lot of time in Varisia, where the residents are so much easier to trick, deceive, and play tricks on--except when they're not. Luckily, he's very good at putting them out of commission long enough to get away. His specialty is high-DC enchantment, compulsion, and illusion spells. Right now his spell selection is:
He is also my first time making a character with *NO*. *WEAPONS*. Wish me luck! |
