What a time for a natural twenty with the clock ticking down!

He still has two con damage from the round after it gets cast though he would have needed another casting to remove the second negative level.

As soon as the charge is expended and the magic takes affect Bulvi seems more alert. Colour begins to return to his cheeks... He does look as the flame keeps burning just a little longer before sputtering out. He squeezes Maka with a smile, his face hidden from view in her shoulder. He looked to be supporting himself better and his body language was more relaxed. "Thanks Quasit and Selena." His words were muffled.

Leaning back he grinned, keeping his arm around Maka firmly. "Another few seconds and I would have been making some nervous good byes." He started getting to his feet. "I'm afraid Quasit has deprived everyone of the exciting adventures of watching me try to figure out how to pee in the woods without a handle as an elven maiden. I'm mostly better but not entirely, if you can get it to work again Quasit that should do the trick. Sorry for the scare everyone."

Bulvi was like a rag doll being held by Maka, he wrapped his own arm around her holding her with all his strength. It was odd he could summon his strength but he just couldn't sustain it. He gave a weak chuckle. "I don't think I have the legs to be an elf maiden... and I've worked hard to get all these scars..." He tried to be brave and put on a smile but there was fear in his eyes that he didn't have the strength to hide as his lids grew heavy. What if the thing sapping his energy wouldn't leave enough of his soul to come back... maybe it was burning up his soul?

"Besides I have to teach all of you how to sail, with the boat... far away where it's warm. I'm going to meet Maka's dad and she'll cheer me up when I get homesick." His voice got lower as he spoke, his eyes closing. His skin grew pale and he started to sweat. No he had to stay awake... Selena or Kal or Tez or Yu would do something...

I guess Bulvi wont be dying then! He's just mostly dead, there's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. And it'd take off one of the negative levels he has.

I hate death spiral mechanics.

Tez actually has lesser restoration as like something like a domain spell... it's a narrow window to get to him though. Maybe someone has a potion or a scroll I amn't seeing.

Bulvi's breathing gets more laboured and he drops his shield with a clang trying to lay down on the ground. He gazes up at the others looking exhausted. "I don't feel so good, can somebody... a spell maybe..." He was getting too tired to try and put out the fire which was ignoring his attempts, he just fumbled with one of buckles on his armour trying to get it off.

I'll continue RP it out round by round though we can't repair at least two points of the constitution damage before the final round...

Bulvi started firing off shots at the closest enemy flyers. At least with the undead queen down things were looking up. He wasn't pleased to feel so tired so soon into a fight.

Bulvi stumbled, almost collapsing as the black flames wracked his body with a piercing cold. He looked over at Quasit. "I need to pull back another hit like that and I am down." He launched a final few attacks before stepping back

Bulvi snapped off two more shots at the hovering undead archers before holstering his first now empty pistol. He watched Quasit retreat, he hadn't felt the same sensation so they had singled her out for specific torment.

Bulvi drew his sword and looked at the thing. "This is going to hurt..." He hurtled forward trying to draw the creatures attention towards him rather than Fin. As he struck at the amalgram undead entity he let out a bellow.

"Is anyone hurt?" Kalchine asks, pulling out two now well used wands before helping Quasit look for lost arrows.

If it becomes necessary to climb up to the ledge, he will cling to Chest Thumper's neck like an infant ape. An act that highly amuses his brother who cradles and rocks him like a baby before letting him scramble away.

"You know I hate when you do that!" he exclaims.

Bulvi waves off Kal when he starts coming at him with the wand. "I'll be alright, no immediate threats. Leave it to the ring and save the charges for someone else. Two or three minutes and I wont have a scratch one me. We might easily get that much peace while exploring but if you hear an alarm go up feel free to give me a blast."

Bulvi reacted a bit slower to the end of combat compared to the others, He kept his pistol drawn and sllloooowwwwly scanned the skies in case something tried to attack their scouting group.

They were moving so fast... all of the... no everyone was moving so fast or... damn.

Bulvi kept tracking the creature and painfully slowly pulled the trigger once more.

I've done more GMing than playing but I am enjoying it as a player too. My play group has largely shifted over to it, if there is a premade adventure for 1e we want to play we'll do it but for a fantasy RPG PF2e is our go to now. It's largely easier to run with the principles of game mechanics being consistent all the way through. That said the people you play with and the adventure is always more important than the system, I'll go back and play 1e, D&D 5e, 4e, 3.5e, 3.0e or if someone hold my hand on the mechanics AD&D- I only have broad ideas of them from the older Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale entries.

My playgroup is very excited for Starfinder 2e and how cross compatible it should be with Pathfinder 2e remastered so they can assail my universe with Shoony Soldiers wielding mini guns or some other such horrors.

Ok I am past the second busiest time at work in the year... 218 posts... it'll take a while to catch up.

I'll be thinking about songs that might suit the different characters.

I'm about five sessions into a Pathfinder 2e campaign. The character I am playing is partly based on Bulvi. The players all declared my Dwarven Fighter "The Party Dad" despite them all being around the same age (when factoring in races). This is helped a bit by him being the party healer with bandages but he's also very level headed and not a glory hound which adds to it. He'll absolutely take an easy victory rather than try show boating.
He's not as knowledgeable as Bulvi though and I like him speaking about some piece of lore that seems reasonable or at least interesting. "I heard eating the flesh of a basilisk gives you extremely bad constipation." Was something I recently said when the character aiming to be a cook wanted to try recycling the corpse of one we had just defeated. Then I flatly turned to the GM "Fionn has no training in arcane or nature- it's just something he heard once, and is completely unreliable."

Bulvi gave Maka's shoulder a gentle squeeze before kissing her on the temple as she cried. Selena was always chastising and nagging but he seemed less frustrated with her than many of the others a lot of the time. He hoped she had some trick up her sleeve or they could find something. However long she was going to be gone he'd miss her... at this stage he accepted she really had been killed, sneaking around to leave them under the assumption that she was dead this long, it would be uncharacteristically cruel... unless perhaps it was just being done to Quasit.

He gets to work with the wand, beginning with Quasit.

Then moves on to Bulvi.

While Bulvi knew she was more than capable he also knew Maka was hurt and once she reached the edge of the shield he put away his pistol, gently touched her neck and moved to take the burden that was the dead villain to carry it the rest of the way. "Outside?"

He looked around "Selena can you do anything about that spell so Quasit can have another look." After a few moments without a response he looked towards the pile of cloth where he had last seen her. "She cast something like mislead.., right?" Now there was no immediate threat his grim optimism regarding her fate was giving way to a sinking feeling.

"Did we win?" She asked as she got up.

Bulvi blinked, perhaps the sound of Maka's voice breaking him free from the magic that held him... or maybe just a coincidence. He slowly began turning his attention back towards the fight.

"Maybe... how do we know he's not some kind of a strange liche that is going to get back up?" Bulvi sheathed his sword and unholstered his pistol leveling it at Rasputin. "Just going to poke him a few times to see if he is faking." The first bullet aimed towards his neck.

Lightning arced through Bulvi's body, his muscles tensing and convulsing as he did his best to stay standing. His eyes stared at Maka's fallen form and then at Rasputin, trying to close the gap vainly as his body was wracking with electricity.

@GM_Almonihah is there a knowledge I can roll to figure out Rasputin's likely creature type... Human, Native Outsider? With his ancestry I wouldn't be surprised if he fell under one category or another. Flipping the bane on Bulvi's sword to something suitable would help potentially.

Bulvi's stomach twists and turns as he watches Maka. Moving swiftly across the room he focuses his wrath towards the headless horseman. His hair is whipped back by the wind wall. He snarled in Russian towards Rasputin. "I'm almost finished with your puppets, soon I'll be cutting your strings." He doubted he'd be able to bait the deranged man but if there was a chance he'd draw an attack spell towards him rather than Maka he'd take it.
