Looks like I really need to learn a more offensive 4th rank spell, preferably one that doesn’t use Fortitude saves. Will need to review my options a bit before I play Brekovi again.

Seeing the battle is done, Brekovi waits a few minutes before tentatively coming back into the firelight, checking if it still sickens him. He then offers the healing potions he got for provisioning to Kidron and and BakBak.

He then helps put things back in order as his wounds slowly heal.

When the mayor asks about the watch, Brekovi admits “We met Wanikkawi. We are fortunate that we survived the encounter.

I don’t have shield active. I’m surprised that with the clumsy 2 a 33 failed to crit.

Guess we have to destroy the corpses before we can take care of the coward offering false power.

We are dealing with two different things here, the damage reduction and the ability to strike.

Your reaction is Retributive Strike.

Dazzled gives everyone concealment.

When you target a creature that’s concealed from you, you must attempt a DC 5 flat check before you roll to determine your effect. If you fail, you don’t affect the target.

Since nothing in the section about reducing damage for Retributive Strike indicates you are targeting a creature, I don’t think Dazzled applies. If it does, you would need to do the DC 5 check.

Since neither of the attackers is in your reach for either of the two possible Retributive Strikes, you will not have a chance to do an attack. If you were able to attack, that would be affected by Dazzled.

There is room for disagreement on if the damage reduction would be targeted. If our GM has a different reading, I would not argue with it.

Brekovi takes a step back and then summons a large orb of water. It then rolls to the right. If it manages to engulf Wanikkawi it then rolls completely over him, otherwise it goes for engulfing blue and blocking the space between him and Wanikkawi.

Yes, in general it is better to stay in the area of the firelight that we are supposed to protect. Tess and Brekovi both have Pearly White Spindle Aeon Stones, allowing us to heal 1HP per minute.
That means Tess only needs one use of Hymn or similar in order to be back to full within 30 minutes.

As it turns out, the GM did tell us about the aura including the size of it. His description says when entering the aura. I would have to dig through the rules on auras, but I don’t think they affect you once you leave. Exact details is what I would need to research.

As for the buckler, my understanding is you basically need a mostly free hand in order to use a buckler. You couldn’t grip your bastard sword in two hands and raise a buckler, but you could if you were using it as a 1H weapon.

Sorry, really hadn’t looked at your character sheet in any detail. I am surprised to see you have Reactive Shield, but I didn’t bother trying to reconstruct the character to figure out why.

Might think about getting a buckler someday so you have a choice between 1H and 2H operation with your sword.

In any case, you know your character better than I. Think if there is something you can do that would be more useful than swinging the sword.

You could try what I did at first, get outside the aura to figure out if that changes your luck. I have not attempted a RK check to try and find out, but the power does seem to be an aura. Might be something where any time you start a turn inside their area.

Also keep in mind when it has used the reaction to steal luck, since it means you can freely attack with your reaction without fear of feeding it good rolls.

Since you are unlucky, raising a shield (which does not require a d20 roll) might be a better use of your actions than strikes at increasing MAP that increase the chance of them swallowing a good roll by you.

I have been using spells that don’t require me to roll d20.

Luna: You can’t conjure another shield. “After you use Shield Block, the spell ends and you can't cast it again for 10 minutes.”

He then waits for Tess to move before repositioning his Floating Flame under the skull.

If Red Spirit is already dead or dies after my first action, I would like a chance to change my remaining actions.

Brekovi concentrates to move the flame into the same space as the red spirit.

I think the problem is the way Kiddron is rolling twice. Their sword attack would be a total of 23 (10+13) but that isn’t clear. Everyone reading would need to do the math.
I think it would be clearer if they just did the rolls twice with all modifiers and use strikeout for the higher roll.

Found the problem. They changed the interface without warning. :(

Now you have to tap on a slide and then go to edit in order to edit a slide. It always defaults to presentation mode.

On Apple there is no “Open in Editor” option that I can find. I will be playing with the URL, see if I can’t find a way to modify it so it comes up in editor mode.

Brekovi thinks a few minutes and decides it is unlikely that his Gentle Landing spell will do much good. He concentrates for a few minutes and swaps it for spell to provide a warning if enemies approach. He also pulls out a wand of 2nd rank Tailwind and uses it.

Spell Substitution: Gentle Landing swapped out for Alarm.

He checks with the others and suggests Scrollspire as a password before erecting his ward.

Give us a map and I will mark where the Alarm is set.

Then he finds a good place to sit and watch. As part of his watch, he keeps checking for any new signs of magic nearby.
