He moves slightly and bashes the machines wrist with the side of his shield, forcing the machines arm a bit out of the way. Using the opportunity, he moves away from machine, hoping he bought enough time to get away from it. "You get stop code for man from her?" He yells up at the group near the now unconscious women. Just saying that your build seemed to go in the more "support" area rather than full on melee(not saying you couldn't transfer to that nor actually do good in melee to begin with). More just thinking out loud/wanting to play a ranger/gunslinger now that I've had the opportunity to play my dream of Alchemical Captain America :D I'll probably stick with Bran in all fairness, he can throw a shield in a few levels just as fine. ![]()

![]() i'd be interested in continuing though I'm somewhat wondering if I should apply with a different character. Depending on how GM is going to set up the next adventure, it seems like we're heavily missing someone good with ranged like a ranger or gunslinger so was thinking of applyng with a new character...then again, without Bran, I think only Yvell is in Melee and I'm not sure if that's a good thing either. Maybe the new "6th" (if derlin doesn't come back) can fill that roll :) ![]()

Hurray Leprosey Bran shakes off the acidic burst of the oozes as best as he can. That which does land on him, he is presently surprised to find that a small shimer from Auheda's spell protects him from feeling any pain. "Thanks Auheda, not sure exactly what you did but it seems to have worked." The healing light that Valtyra lets off heals most of his wounds and Bran feels pretty ok. He shivers a little bit, not really sure why but let's out a sigh as the fight comes to a close. Bran follows the group into the rooms, not finding too much of interest to him. He speaks out saying, "As concerned as I am for Baine, I think with those who are caring for him, he should pull through. Our biggest concern should be trying to find how to light the fires again. ![]() As you said before, I need to be able to have a feat for at least a day to qualify as a prerequisite. Martial Versatility only applies for minutes in a particular day. They disappear after a set time. So it would seem MV would not give me Shield Master. I don't think Bonus Feats magically turn on in that kind of way. If they intended for me to use MV to get Shield Master, why not give me...Improved Shield Bash at level 11? Do note again that Brawler's Flurry IS Two Weapon Fighting. It says that while I am using unarmed strike, monk weapons and close fighter group(shield bashing is in there), I am treated as having Two Weapon Fighting. So, again, absolutely 0 reason to get the actual feat beyond qualifying for this. I'm not saying that I should get the feat ignoring all prerequisites. Far from it. I'm talking specifically about TWF. I'm fine with getting Shield Slam, Imp Shield Bash and waiting till level 11. ![]()

![]() Eh, I'm ok with the answer to question #2 being no. It was more just for clarification than anything else(only thing I would be interested in picking up is Two Weapon Rend at...really high levels). However, question #1 doesn't make much sense to say no to. It says I gain Shield Master as a bonus feat. So, if I don't have TWF, even with Martial Flexibility(which only lasts minutes in a day), I wouldn't be able to get the bonus feat to begin with. To me, it seems really weird, to require a character to get a feat that they don't actually need...at all...to make use of a class feature, archtype or no. It seems like an unnecessary "tax" considering the character revolves around using a shield and it's not like I would be getting it early or anything. To me, it seems more likely to be a typo than anything. ![]()

![]() Nice roll there...Question to GM: Shield Champion says that at level 11, I gain the feat Shield Master for free. It also says I must meet all prerequisites. One prerequisite is Two Weapon Fighting. Brawler's Flurry allows me to act like I have two weapon fighting with various benefits beyond regular TWF. Now the problem here is: Brawler's Flurry is not TWF and it doesn't say that it acts like TWF for purposes of feats. So question: Do I have TWF for the purpose of Shield Master(which is a part of my Archtype)? Another question is do I have TWF/ITWF/GTWF(as I level) for purposes of acquiring other feats? ![]()
