Lini finishes her spell and yet another earth elemental appears. Lini and Droogami takes a breather in the back while the two elementals attack Red.

Elemental 2:

The second elemental appears next to the eagles and earth glides into position across from Bobbie.

Lini's spell terminates and out pops an earth elemental. The elemental steps up and tries to rock the bad guy's world.

Lini then begins another summoning spell while Droo stands near her.

Lini orders Droo to stay put for now. She rolls the big ball of flame forward seeing if she can nab the monster through the bars.

The diminutive druid does not wait for an answer but summons a ball of fire into her hand.

Produce Flame is cast.

"Sounds like a plan. Retreat."

Lini leads Droogami away from the battlefield.

This scenario keeps going and going. There is no way you could complete this one in four hours at the gaming table. :)

Just a heads up to everyone that I will be away from April 12th to 24th. I will try my best to post but I have left bot instructions in my tagline (Bot Me) should my character be idle for too long. :)

Lini lands and changes back into her gnomish form.

The druid takes out a scroll of Spider Climb and casts it on IIadora. She is certain that the ranger will not be able to slip now.

It is virtually not possible for IIadora to fail the check now as all climb checks succeed automatically according to the written text of this spell. In your face skill checks. :)

Lini in eagle form flies up to Salvio and taps him with Guidance. Perhaps the wizard's next attempt will be more successful.

Despite being only 4th level Lini does have the Natural Spell feat. :)

@GM Top - Sadly determining the nerd level of your typical avid gamer is not exceedingly difficult. :) I try to mix it up a bit and begin my role playing before the adventure actually begins. It is more fun that way.

The folios are great when you do not want to explain to the general public that you do not belong to a backpacking club, a geological society or are a fan of a totally unknown rock band. ;)

Lini signals for Droo to defend her. She then transforms into an eagle and flies across the gap.

@GM Top - Is there an actual distance to jump across or is this more of an abstracted skill check to defeat the haunt? Also will a riding check by required if my character wants to be astride Droogami for the jump across and if so what would the DC be?

Lini feels something but draws strength from Droo being nearby.

Maybe you missed my last post. It is a lot of casting to avoid a single d6 of damage. :)

"Perhaps you can use the stone to fix the damage here as well?"

"Hey, let us check the other door off the pool room and then we can head back to the main room."

Lini walks over and tries to calm Rocky.

"Alright Rocky, you don't have to go in if you don't want to. Good doggie."

20 Handle Animal on a take 10.

The druid shakes her head and sighs.

"There certainly is something unnatural about this place."

"A job is a job but this is just weird."

Lini addresses Salvo and Corba who clearly have a better handle on this strange language riddle than she does.

"So have you braniacs figured all this out yet? This room is freaking the animals out."

Lini shakes her head at her pensive companion.

Don't worry Droo. There will be things to claw and bite in here. At least I think so."

"Maybe it is magical water Droo. We should check it out."

Lini and Droogami go for a drink as well.

Lini walks up to Illadora while she draws her wand. She taps her on the back healing some of her wounds.

"Well, if you are out here I might as well lend a hand."

Cure Light Wounds, Illadora: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Lini and Droo stay put for now. The druid stands on the ready should someone in the party drop from their wounds but so far the party has only suffered scratches from the ghostly haunt challenge.

Lini stays put for now. She knows that everyone does not have to be in the room to return the weapons to their rightful place.

Droogami stands watch over his mistress (for all the good that would do against a haunt if it came looking for them).

"Alright Droo, let us get out of the way. The others will make sure that the weapons are put back properly."

The druid signals her companion and Lini and Droo move to the corner of the (first) room.

"Sure, fix it with the stone and then we can move on."

The druid shrugs.

"Perhaps clear the bones away Bobbie and we can see if we can read it."

Lini casts Detect Magic to see if the writing on the floor is magical.

Lini blushes.

"Sorry Corba. I did not mean to steal your thunder there."

Lini approaches the wounded wand in hand. Her other hand is aflame lighting the room as any good torch would.

Produce Flame is such an odd duck spell. It feels like it should be a touch spell but it is not. :)

"Well, better not to get hit at all but still I should have you both patched up in no time."

The gnome puts her trusty wand away in an accessible pocket and has a look around.

True. She also did not add the power attack bonus to her damage roll. It should be a total of 11 points of damage not 7. :)

@GM TOP - It seems to be pretty straightforward application of the rules. Now why anyone would want to cast a 1st level summon with a 2nd level spell slot which also requires two rounds of actions is beyond me.

I think that the player might not be fully aware about how spontaneous meta-magic works. It is a complicated game after all. :)

Lini directs her cat while she summons a ball of magical flame to her hand.

While the others talk Lini quickly downs a vial of antitoxin.

"Yes Salvio, Droo would really appreciate to be armoured up."

Lini casts a Light spell in the blade of her sickle which she then sheathes in a leather scabbard. She casts Longstrider on herself and she will cast Barkskin (from a scroll) on Droo.

Lini climbs on board Droo. Her little legs are just not equipped for such a long journey.

"This should be fun. An adventure at last."

Lini is well out of her wheelhouse in these social setting but she intends to go down swinging trying to win over Memory Tender. The druid tries to make up a wild tale of her pet hamster "Lizzy" who winds up with a kingdom of his own at the end of the story.

While not a skilled story teller Lini attempts to give it a try with Memory Tender. She tells her about her experience with they fey people in the First World.

Everyone can attempt Perform skills albeit not necessarily well. :)

Lini discusses hunting techniques with Togimal In Shadow. She mentions (and demonstrates) how she often hunts in tandem with Droogami.

I am sure that an instance of Lini has played 8-22 before but not this Lini. ;)

Lini signals to her cat to stay and this time Droogami immediately complies as the time for games is over.

Lini tries to make friends with Corba's pet dog. Of course she comes prepared with a small piece of beef jerky to bribe him with.

"Why Rocky is such a cutie. Who can possibly have a problem with him?"

"Droo and I am ready to go as well."

"Be nice to Rocky, alright Droo. No tricks!"

Lini tries to help Desynthia find out what they can of the Shoanti.
