I guess you do not have a separate category for it, but I wanted to point out the Beohawk is Ranged and not Melee. Also, with trap finding he is really more a full BAB skills guy than melee.

I too posted a character here. I believe you missed it.
GM-JZ I love this AP and particularly like your character creation rules. Having enjoyed playing in another game with you I am anxious to see what type of game you can offer, and expect it will be excellent. I have played through the first two books of this AP and hope that will not disqualify me. I present the character Beohawk the Shamed for your consideration. He is an outcast ranger from the north who has settled in Ustalav, hoping to find a new home, and if he dare say it, a new people. He owes Professor Lorrimor much in helping him get his start in this strange new land and expects someday to be called to repay all the man has done for him. In the North debts are repaid and Beohawk will be ready when called upon. I believe my character is ready for your review.

Sigh. You will let my extra effort at role playing slide? My attempt to improve your game? In most games the DM thanks players for adding color and background where it was undefined. I likely should have send this as a PM but your comment just hit me wrong.

Seeming to have reached a decision, but with a look of strong distaste on his face, the ranger relaxes his half pull on his bow and steps into the small room. My name is Beohawk. It seems the need of the good king will create strange alliances this day. As for tricks of some fool who trusted you, I desire not to see them. What amuses your kind sickens mine. It has always been so. Do you claim not to be of the North? Not of Irrisen? Not of Baba Yoga's brood?

Witches, who can trust um. :) Working on a response. The real problem is that the newcomer seems to have no way to prove that she is at least a potential ally. Why should we trust her? Only because she seems to know about our mission? Am I missing something?

The ranger, still in the hall, seems less than happy about finding their new teammate. He holds his great recurved composite bow, an arrow knocked, but not fully drawn. And he wears a look part hatred, part disgust, and part fear on his face. I care not what you think of me witch. In my homeland all daughters of the old crone are called enemy and hunted. You expect us to accept you into our group so easily? What proof have you that are to be one of us? I know you by your hair. You are a white witch and therefore you are not to be trusted or dealt with. The ranger is Ulfen; a man of the north. His people have been at war with the witches for generations. He can not be expected to be happy to find one here.

The ranger, silent until now, steps to the bar. Your price for an introduction is high, my good sir. I have a bad habit of trusting people until they prove untrustworthy. Pleased do not make me regret this. Pulling two platinum crowns out of his belt he slides them across the bar.

The ranger's one spell is gravity bow. The druid will level very slowly. We are indeed divine and healing challenged. But, as has been said, play what you will have the most fun with. Just do not expect healing from the current players.

I am ranger all the way. You stats look good and with racial adjustments can yield at least an 18, and if nonhuman, possibly an 18 and a 17. Maybe a cleric or an oracle? For me, Oracles are more fun to play than clerics due to the flavor of the curse and the larger allocation of skill points.

Beohawk loosely ties the reigns to his mount to a post outside. To no one in particular he announces He bites referring to the horse, and then whispers to the horse Defend. Securing his weapons, he follows Blnerk into the the inn.
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
The ranger seems satisfied and reigns in his horse. Leave the city the way we came in. You are done here. Do not turn back. If I see you here again I will feather you. He will watch the man leave, holding his bow at the ready. Once the man is gone he asks Bilnerk I've taken a couple minor wounds. Can you work your magic to close them?

intimidate: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10 not so good. :( If he does not talk Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 And I ask again. intimidate: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20

Horse. The ranger gives subtle pressure with his knees. The horse strikes out with little warning and his shod hoof nearly breaks the man's lower leg. horse kick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 I do not lie, and I do not bluff. Would you like to see his teeth?
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
Beohawk looks down at the bandit leader from his war trained bonded mount. Look at me. If you know of the Ulfen people you know that we hold liars in very low regard. I do not lie. You have attacked us. Some would say we would be fools to let you live. Give me a reason that you should live. Tell me something valuable. Something that I need to know, You have one chance to impress me. As he says this he draws a great sword and moves closer to the man waiting for him to speak. [ooc - I am taking a +4 for being larger as I am mounted on a mount he has seen strike his men to sinificant effect. If you liked my intimidate above maybe you can give me a situational bonus here as well. I am really ready to stride this person down if he does not start talking. :)[/ooc] Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Holding his arrow knocked and not loosing Beohalk calls after the men. You have the gift of grace this once, though you do not deserve it. Flee. If I see your face in this town again, I will cut you down where you stand. His facial expression seems to show he intends to do so.
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
Beohawk redirects his horse to the bandit with the sap saying I did warn you. Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Then, with subtle pressure from the ranger the horse dances back another 5 feet and the ranger shoots again at the rapier wielder. Hoof: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 191d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
The trained warhorse lashes out at the bandit with the the rapier. Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Hoof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 And then saunters back 5 feet. The ranger calmly pulls a single arrow from its quiver and lets it fly at the rapier holder. Arrow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 161d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Calling to the one with the sap he explains rationally. Drop that weapon or this horse will trample you.

I am ready, but can not post until the bandits go. I concur with 24 hour bot rule. And I would be fine with a 72 hour and you are out rule - that is if you do not give some kind of notice. I mean who does not check in within 3 days??? Heck I was camping but was still checking in as best I could.

And if the men of this lord challenge us, or the lord himself? Beohawk asks in a non-chalenging way. Do we claim deep cover? Do we kill them? Perhaps our story should be as you say Talmanes, but also that we do not just tell any who ask. Our business should be our own until we are pressed, no?
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
Bad, but to be expected. Our job is not to restore order, but we will have to at least survive in that mess. I am fine helping you find your master's killers, AFTER we finish this mission, but mission comes first. Deal?

The Ranger dismounts, keeping his horse between himself and the majority of the archers. He has a tight grip on his bow and is not yet at ease enough to begin to talk to the newcomer. You are the one who has been in Fourwinds. Tell us of that city. How bad is it there?
M Human Ranger 1 (Urban)/ (Per: +5/7 Init:+4 HP 13/13 AC: 18/14/14 F: +4 R: +6 W: +1/3 ve fear)
[ooc] Hmm. System seems to have eaten my post. Likely good since I was reacting to the archers that at the time Bilnerk did not know about. [b] [b]We were to meet a 'friend' in Fourwinds and not on the road Bilnerk. How do we know you are he? I was not expecting anyone here, and certainly not with an armed escort. It you want to talk to us you need to bring your men in and introduce them as well. [b]

The Unfin ranger shows no emotion and speaks in a whisper still looking at the boy in front of him. He speaks so quietly that his companions may have to make a listen check to hear him. He is not alone. 6 of them in the trees. Long bows. He tenses, ready for action, waiting to hear what the boy says, and planning to get off the first arrow if it comes to that.

Not sure why its posting my previews, but that is the second time its done that. Was able to delete the extra one this time. The ranger looks momentarily disappointed, but nods. The offer is generous. For some this is enough.

As Talmanes talks Beohawk nods approvingly. It is strong to know oneself. he comments to Talmanes' story. Taking the wineskin back from Porter he passes to Talmanes. I think I am glad that both of you will fight on my side in this conflict. He stares into the fire for a moment before adding. As for me, I am a scout and hunter. And I know the ways of the North. But that was not too useful here in the south so I have learned about your cities. I can ride, and scout, and track, and am a strong swimmer. I am good at removing obstacles and can often find a trap or open a lock. And I am a decent shot with a bow. I have this sword, He indicates the greatsword over his shoulder, But I prefer not to close in combat as I know I am not strong in close quarters. And I can use some knowledge of healing and even access to limited healing magics if I have access to a wand or time to prepare. Not much mind you, but I can close a wound given a day or so. He pauses for a moment, lost in the fire and some old memory. When he continues he asks quietly I would know why each of you have chosen this path. Why do you choose to fight? If you will tell me your reasons, I will share mine as well, even though I suspect some of you will call me foolish. As he says this he subconsciously touches the brand on his cheek. As if snapping out of a spell he suddenly announces, in a voice too loud for the close quarters I will watch second.
