Do we get the normal level one feat, even though we're starting at Level 0?

Female Human

Astrid also leaps through the window, though not before shooting a venomous glare at Xanathon and growling, "I'll see you later."

Female Human

Astrid continues to stand back, taking in the battle. Finally, she roars, "You idiots! It's obvious we can't hurt him! We have to retreat before he kills us all!"

Female Human

Astrid attempts to hold Liam back as he charges, but curses as he slips away. "Liam, you idiot, this is the High Priest of the god of trickery! Don't trust your eyes!"

Female Human

Astrid closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. That breath stretches on into eternity for her, as she lets the spirits flow through and allow her to see clearly.

She then opens her eyes.

Female Human

Astrid grabs the priest by the scruff of his neck and drags him over to the wall. "Open it," she says, her voice near primal in its intensity.

Female Human

Astrid grabs the priest by the shoulders and growls, "Where. Is. Xanathon?"

Female Human

Astrid holds her hand on Liam's shoulder. "Hold, Liam. We don't need to take more lives. Only fools pretend that there's glory in battle. We just need to-" her other arm snaps out and grabs a cultist by the arm, "-capture one, and question him."

Female Human

XD Not going to happen... You're not Astrid's type :P

Female Human

Astrid again puts all of her strength into her swing, attacking the nearest enemy...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 + 1d4 ⇒ (13) + (1) = 14
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 + 1d4 ⇒ (16) + (4) = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 1) + 14 = 17

Cleave: 1d20 + 1d4 ⇒ (6) + (3) = 9
Cleave: 1d20 + 1d4 ⇒ (13) + (2) = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (4, 3) + 14 = 21

Female Human

Astrid again brings her blade to bear against the priests, swinging it in a wide arc...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 4) + 14 = 24

Female Human

Aid is affected by Life domain, so 9 HP to current and max.

Bolstered by Karl's spell, Astrid charges forward, not even bothering to activate her rage.

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 6) + 14 = 26

Female Human

Astrid snarks, "I would've thought worshiping a god of misfortune would tip the odds in our favor," before knocking him out again.

Female Human

Astrid roughly shakes whichever priest looks weaker. "Wake up. Where's Xanathon?" she asks curtly.

Female Human

Astrid holds up her hands and says, "Look-"

Before abruptly trying to cold cock one of the priests.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage = 4

Female Human

Astrid also strides up to the front.

Female Human

Here.

Female Human

Astrid gives a nod of thanks to Karl, before draining one of her healing potions. "Thanks for that," she nods towards the guards.

She then turns to the rest of the party and asks, "Should we dispose of the evidence?" she asks casually.

Female Human

Astrid lets the rage fade from her eyes, and then looks around. "We're not getting paid enough for this," Astrid mutters before turning to the guards.

"Tell us about Xanathon. Now," Astrid says calmly, still looking like something out of a nightmare.

Female Human

Weird. I always hit with my first attack, but never with the cleaving one.

Female Human

Astrid should not even be standing. Her multiple wounds drippling with blood, her brown locks hanging over her eyes, her massive sword covered in blood and guts, and now a low growl emanating from her mouth, Astrid looks like something out of a nightmare.

And maybe she is, to the poor guards.

Again, she swings her sword in a wide arc...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 2) + 16 = 24

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 5) + 16 = 23

Female Human

+1 from mwk, +2 from rage, +3 from Strength mod, +10 from Great Weapon Mastery. In exchange for the +10, I take a -5 to hit, which is why I roll a plain d20 and use Reckless Attack. It also synergizes well with Bear Totem, which gives me resistance to pretty much everything.

Female Human

Astrid is beginning to look rather ragged, but she doesn't stop her assault.

She swings her blade in a wide arc towards the two guards that attacked her...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (5, 3) + 16 = 24

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 4) + 16 = 22

Ugh! Completely missed this game's update yesterday, sorry!

Aukan charges straight into the room screaming a battle cry!

RAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHH

Aukan attempts to flip a table over on a small knot of guardsmen

[dice=STR w/Rage] 1d20+5 but instead he just shoves the table a bit.

Aukan, you're mixing up rage damage and Strength checks. Whenever you roll damage in rage, you add +2. Whenever you make a Strength check, you do it with advantage, and don't apply the +2.

Female Human

Astrid draws her sword and charges at one of the guards, letting the spirits fill her soul with rage once again.

Charge Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Charge Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 1) + 16 = 19

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 3) + 16 = 21

Female Human

Astrid, having recovered most of her strength, catches up with the group and quickly places herself with Aukan.

Female Human

Astrid, breathing hard, heads towards the right door.

Female Human

Astrid takes both the scimitar strike and the flash of light without even flinching, focusing her cold fury on the guard in front of her.

Reckless Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Reckless Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17

If that takes him down...

Astrid again uses her momentum to charge the nearest priest, her sword making sparks on the stone floor as she prepares to strike upward.

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 1) + 16 = 23

Female Human

Astrid sighs and draws her massive blade, letting the Six Spirits overtake her and give her strength before charging at the nearest two undamaged guards...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 3) + 16 = 25

If that drops him...

Astrid then uses the momentum from that swing to attack the other guard, her eyes flaming with cold fury.

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Damage: 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 1) + 16 = 19

Female Human

Astrid is inspecting the statue of Cretia when she hears Aukan's roar and the man's question. "Oh shi-" she says, knowing that she won't be able to get there in time to stop Aukan.

Female Human

Astrid looks around in the main chamber. "Looks cheery," she says drily.

Female Human

Astrid shrugs. "I'm in."

Female Human

Sorry for my abscence. Astrid has been... I dunno, actually. Taking tea in her room, I guess, bandaging up her wounds.

Female Human

Astrid bolts for the exit of the barracks, cursing under her breath.

Female Human

Astrid nods. "I suppose you are the wiser among us, Karl. Yet I worry that Liam and Magnus would be caught. It seems only a week ago I rescued that boy from a fire..." Sighing, she holsters her weapon and leaves.

Female Human

Astrid wipes the blood from her face. "As much as I hate to say it, we need to buy Liam and Magnus some more time. Aukan, pick up your hammer and shield-the Battle Spirits will sing of your glory." The young woman then shifts into a resolute stance, ready to fight the horde of guards.

Female Human

Astrid grunts as the guard lands a scratch across her face, and struggles to keep hold of her rage while lining up for a second swing...

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6, 1) + 13 = 20

If that guard goes down, Astrid subdues him, whirls around, and takes another swing at the nearest guard.

Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Reckless Grand Slam: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (4, 1) + 13 = 18

Subdual on that one, too. And remember all attacks against Astrid get advantage until her next turn.

Female Human

Sorry Aukan, but... unarmed strikes deal 1+Strength damage. Only by having levels in Monk or the tavern brawler feat does it upgrade to 1d4.

Female Human

Astrid sighs and dodges the clumsy sword strike, then smoothly draws her sword and whacks at the guard with the blunt end, attempting to constrain her rage...

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9

...although, unaccustomed to attacking to subdue, the blade misses by a mile.

Wow, the dice gods... they be hatin' on me :P

Female Human

Astrid sighs and hands Aukan his shield and hammer. "Aggravated assault, maybe?" she says with resignation as she reaches for her blade.

Female Human

"You just saw how much trouble he was. I'm not walking out of here without at least some reward."

Female Human

Astrid struggles to hold Aukan back. "A little help over here, please!"

Female Human

Astrid appears stubborn. "Do you have any idea how much trouble this one was?" she says, pointing to some bruises and cuts from the caravan job that were still healing. "I want at least ten gold for the prisoner."

Female Human

Astrid, appearing bored, breaks down the situation. "We have a dissenter. You want dissenters. We want gold. And documentation of it. Now, papers please?"

Female Human

Astrid jostles the massive half-ogre roughly. "Aye, we found him trying to stir up a riot near the Blarney Chicken after the proclamation. Now, papers please?"

Female Human

"We don't need to crack heads. If we can keep them distracted for long enough by babbling about the proper forms and bureaucracy and red parchment for long enough, Liam and Fairgrimm can get in and get out quickly. By the time they finally bring us whatever papers they think we need, all we need to do is take a quick look over them, sigh in disgust, and come back the next day when they're ready for us."

Female Human

"Yes, but... Magnus, remember that merchant in Valken? Who, after the spell wore off, promptly set the guards loose on us? I mean, as I understand it, people remember when somebody messes with their head. And I don't want to be caught between two hordes of angry guards when the spell wears off."

Astrid pours a cup of tea for Eric. "Tea?"

Female Human

Astrid takes another sip of her tea and nods. "Sounds like it could be interesting. And legitimate-so much as any business that involves stealing into the barracks to steal some evidence can be so. I'm in."

At Aukan's sudden burst of inspiration, Astrid whirls around, looking ready to put down whatever Aukan's new harebrained scheme is. "That is... a surprisingly good plan, Aukan. Glad you thought of it," she begrudgingly admits.

Female Human

Astrid sips at her tea, savoring the delicious brew. At Eric's briefing she nods, but appears thoughtful.

"Interesting. But I have a few questions. The first one is, how would we be sure that the church would not use the duke's addled state of mind to further its own position and gain control of Rhoona? I'm sorry if this offends you, but I don't want to clear away another bad situation to make a worse one. Secondly, not many of my friends are sneaky types, including myself. Fairgrimm is the only one of us who is skilled in the art of stealth. Assuming that we take the job, how are we supposed to get in the barracks quietly? And last, what about payment? Although doing this for charity would likely improve your opinion of us," Astrid gives a smile as she sips more tea. "we do have to eat."

Female Human

Both Karl´s and Liam´s pleading calms the fires in Astrid´s eyes. She relaxes a bit, then shakes her head, getting rid of the remaining spiritual fury in her soul.

¨I... I apologize, my friends. It´s just that I saw too many other tribes subjugated by my own... and to think of humiliating an entire proud race like that? That stokes the flames in me.¨

Astrid then turns to Eric and nods. ¨As you said, stranger. Let me grab some tea and then perhaps I shall be of mind to talk civilly,¨ she says with a half-smile.
