"I don't see where the curse itself is our concern at all. We have a contract to put the Order down. No one has hired us to remove curses. Kill the order is my thought, and if we happen along the way to find the cure, we can sell it for fair market value to the city. "As for inquisitors, *we* should be wary of them as well. Fanatics are fanatics, anyone who uses ideology as their primary motivation is dangerous."
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
"2500? Between us? For a covert mission where you expect prisoners? Not nearly enough. Taking prisoners when bounty hunting increases the danger to the hunters significantly. Not only do you need to not kill someone who wants to kill you, but then you need to guard them, which reduces your own effectiveness against other enemies. 1500. Each. That would be fair for what you want. Or your price, and we're not dark, we're in the light, with the full backing and protection of the city. "Or, your price, but prisoners are no longer required." Arrika speaks from her spot against the wall, her tail flicking slowly.

Bartholomew Hobbes wrote: Hobbes catches Arrika's eye as she looks at him. "I can NOT believe you thought I would try to cheat you out of our payment." He tries to look shocked and fails as he smirks big as he picks up his bag of platinum. "I never said that at all. You're rather paranoid." Arrika says. Once the portal is open, she hops on through.
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
"The sack has Barstow's head, correct?" Arrika says. "I don't like not being able to collect a bounty. I also recall you promising us 500 gold each now to undertake your investigation, Lady. I do not see said payment." Her eyes flicker to Hobbes as he starts stuffing everything into his pack.
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika laughs at what Hobbes says, and adds something of her own, before slipping back into common. Draconic Spoiler:
"Pick your jaw up Hobbes, or you'll drool on the Lady. Even dragon girls don't like that." Arrika's tone is somewhat teasing. "I believe so. We have not been in Oreme long, but I think there have been reports of such things." She sits down once more, and takes her bottle back from the body of Rapt before taking a sip, finishing it off. "What sort of aid can we provide you, Lady?" she then asks.
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika looks amused as Hobbes rants at her. She tucks the healing potion that Gregor gave her away - she's clearly not going to give it back. She then goes back to where the portal one, and recovers her bottle from the floor where she left it. She walks back to a chair, and sits down to watch, popping the bottle open to drink. She does, however, offer an opinion. "I'd guess that the Order hired them because thugs don't ask questions. Some adventurers also don't, but when you're a secret organization you prefer to not take that risk. It's safer to just hire the people you know will do the job." She then look to Rapt. "I think you should answer him though. He *might* ask me to take over if you don't, and, well, that would be - messy. For you. Unless you *like* pain.... Helping Hobbes out with an Intimidate on poor Rapt. Rapt would know Arrika's curse is still on him, right? 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 HP: 70/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
"Does any of that matter? We were hired to deal with Barstow and his thugs. They're dealt with. Let's collect the heads and turn them in for the bounty. If someone wants to hire us to look into, or deal with this Order later, well, we can worry about it then." Arrika sits down and rests a bit. Spend 2 surges to get back to full. HP: 70/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika points her rod at Rapt and a bolt of black energy shoots from it. My dazed action will be a standard, Eldritch Blast, vs reflex. 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28, on hit: 1d10 + 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (7) + (1) + 7 = 15 damage. HP: 36/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika grins as she can move again, and she drops back into the tower. Move to F5. Her dark magics settle over Rapt, and then she points her wand at Rapt, and tries to pull her curse tighter over him. Infectious Curse on Rapt, targets Fort. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19. On hit: 2d12 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15 damage, he slides to L11, and any enemy that starts the turn adjacent to him gains my curse. On miss, I take 9, keep the power, and get +4 to use it on him before EOMNT. HP: 44/70, Temp 9

Rev DM wrote: The rules say "your attacks deal half damage. Ongoing damage is not affected." By the way, I forgot to note it, but another cursed enemy dropped when Kelji died. I know one did, it's why the update with the temp hp. And I wasn't being argumentative, I was happy to learn something new :)
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika is less concerned with Barstow at the moment, and more concerned with helping Ava. The magical effects on her have the tiefling annoyed as well - she doesn't like standing still. She stares at Kelji, and while her rod seems to glow, there is no visible effect. The Lash's Bite on Kelji, targets Will. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26. On a hit: 3d10 + 6 ⇒ (1, 8, 7) + 6 = 22 psychic damage and 2 fire damage. In addition, she loses all resistances and immunities (save ends). On a miss, I take 9, keep the power, and get a +4 to use it against her until EOMNT. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 18 HP: 44/70, Temp
Oh, and I am not concealed. Been stationary for two rounds, so no movement concealment gained.
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
"Telling him he won't survive then asking him to surrender is a curious negotiating tactic. I know I'd be hesitant, myself, to accept such an offer." Arrika says as she takes a moment to assess the battle. Second Wind. And a save: 1d20 ⇒ 2 HP: 44/70, Temp
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika walks along the table, then hops off of it and gets closer to Kelji. "Poor little mouse, you picked the wrong side. It's almost a shame to have to kill you." The tiefling then points her rod at the helpless warrior and bathes her in flame. Move to K7, gaining concealment. Hellish Rebuke on Kelji, targets reflex. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24. On hit: 1d6 + 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + (4) + 8 = 14 fire damage and if I take any damage before the start of my next turn, she takes another 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 fire damage. HP: 35/70, Temp 9
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
I can leave her where she is, if you can shift Rapt so that he is adjacent to her. Trying to get all the baddies cursed up :) I'd actually meant to type M8, so she'd be adjacent to both Rapt and Lohm. I'll leave her put, so Lohm gets cursed on his action, and hopefully Ava can get Rapt into position.

Arrika aims her rod at Elia and a darkness emerges from the implelment towards Elia. Vampiric Embrace, targets will. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15, on hit, 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 1) + 6 = 15 necrotic damage and I gain 7 temp hp.. Then she's moving once more, into the room and she nimbly hops onto the table, the gold rings in her tail flickering as she moves. She then traces a pattern in the air, and a rune forms on Kelji's forehead. AP. Infectious Curse on Kelji, targets Fort. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25, on hit I slide her two square to N8, and she takes 2d12 + 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (10, 9) + (4) + 6 = 29 psychic damage. In addition, until the end of the encounter, any enemy that starts thier turn next to Kelji gains my curse. If I miss, I take 9 psychic damage, and keep the power, with a +4 to hit if I use it before EOMNT. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 18 and I keep concealment. HP: 44/70, Temp 0

Arrika doesn't respond to Hobbes's advice, but her lips curl into a smile as the battle keeps raging and she turns her attention to the twins. She wraps her infernal curse around one, then sends flames at the other before she moves to a new position, shadows seeming to wrap around her. Curse Kelji, since she and Elia are the same distance from me I think I can do that. Pain to Pleasure against Elia. Since she is bloodied, and under my curse, my Rod gives me +2 to hit and damage against her. 2 attacks vs reflex. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 and 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24. If one hits I do 1d10 + 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (7) + (6) + 9 = 22 and if both did, it's 2d10 + 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 4) + (2) + 9 = 16. If either hits I regain 7 hp. After the attack I move to D9 and gain concealment. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 9 HP: 49/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Barstow is now cursed by me thanks to my Vengeful Curse feat, which allows me to curse any enemy that hits me as an immediate reaction. "Is that the best you can do? I thought you were an expert?" Arrika sneers at the dwarf. HP: 52/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
As the twins strike Urlag, Arrika seems to grin and her eyes flicker for a moment with infernal light. As an immediate reaction to Urlag being hit, I use Life Siphon. I gain a +2 to an attack roll before EOMNT and 4 temp hp. Moving out from behind a bookshelf, the tiefling wraps her power around Elia even as she whispers into the air. Move to G3. Curse Elia. Lure of Minaros, vs Will. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14. Miss. On a miss I can take damage equal to my level, which I will do, and make a secondary attack vs a second target in range which will be Kelji. 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21. If that hits she takes half of 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 and makes a melee basic attack, against herself, that deals half damage to her. HP: 65/70, Temp 0
Female Tiefling Warlock 9
Arrika looks amused when she's filled in by the others. She puts the stopper back in her bottle and holds it in one hand, her rod sliding into the other. Then, she tries to open the door with her tail - and if it's locked, her tail slides a lockpick from her belt and goes to work on it. In case it's locked: Thievery 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 |
