Realizing that both Hajar and Yazi are hit, Anjali scrambles to find a better spot to heal both of them. Looking around, she quickly realizes that healing them both would not be possible without also healing their foe. She opts to step up and heal Yazi instead. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 = 6hp for Yazi.

Anjali bows her head, focusing on a spell that would help her allies gain an advantage in their fighting. Both her arms sweep around to encompass her companions around her. In her flametongue she brings forth the words to give them courage. Casting Bless, +1 on attack rolls for everyone and saves vs. fear, 30 rounds.

Anjali slips closer to the fighting and channels energy through her. This time however, she focuses not on healing her comrades, but rather doing damage to the undead they face. Channel Energy: Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 Hadassa, you already went into round 2 before Anjali can act, so can she just use her Bless spell for round 2?

Anjali's eyes are agog when she hears the breathless hisses of the undead and the garbled words coming from Hajar. Knowing that a fight is likely at hand, she bows her head and focuses on bringing forth a burgeoning feeling inside her. Her lips move in that flame tongue of hers as she makes a grand, sweeping gesture with both arms. Each of her companions experiences a sharp frisson that starts in their gut and fills them with courage. She stays put for now, drawing her still loaded crossbow and waits for what will happen next. Casting Bless - each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects. Duration: 3 minutes. Draw weapon loaded previously but never fired.

Anjali busies herself with carefully putting away her finds in her pack though she is clearly entranced by the luminescence of the mushrooms. She shines the soft glowing light to and fro and is caught by surprise when Dhavyn approaches her. She closes her hand around the proffered brooch, admiring its workmanship. What she gets instead is a vision, one that leaves her lashes wet with tears of joy. "The child from the crypts is at peace. Thank you, Dhavyndor. I will wear it and keep her memory alive," she says to his retreating back. The healer smiles softly as she bows her head, reverently pinning the brooch to her tunic. "May Sarenrae always shine her light upon you, little one," she whispers.

While the others busy themselves with gaining information and wheedling the nixie for boons, Anjali retreats to the background, taking the time to explore the cave more closely. She kneels down on the floor, examining the minerals there, wondering about its possibilities for her craft. One never knew what could be a valuable additive for a scented balm or a soothing cream. Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 So engrossed is Anjali in her task that she almost misses Dhavyn's offhand comment. The healer merely looks up at the fire mage and nods curtly, very much aware of how she could only mitigate a fraction of the damage Eosphorite doled out. She goes back to dragging her fingers through the cave floor. Perhaps the waterfall will refresh us once more when we pass through it, just as before. Otherwise, I will heal them as best as I can before the upcoming fight. Just thought I'd poke around to see if she could find something for her craft because - it's fun.

Anjali steps forward, smiling gently at the well-intentioned barbarian girl before addressing the elemental creature. The girl might be gruff, but her heart is in the right place. She bows her head, hands clasped together before her before speaking to the crystalline elemental. "Say'yedi Eosphorite, consider Dhavyndor's words. You have mentioned yourself that you could never make up for what was done to the mistress of these pools. But perhaps you can. Once the gnolls get here, they will attempt to divert her watery abode again. I am sure that she would appreciate your assistance in gaining the safety of her home once more." Anjali shifts over to one side, bringing her within reach of Hajar. In an effort to mitigate the damage from the crystalline being, she touches the paladin, mouthing the words needed to bring forth her healing. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4hp for Hajar More roiling curses pour from her as she senses that her healing isn't as strong as she had hoped. Nope. I try not to update anyone's HP. I'm never sure how accurate they are on the encounter map, so I leave it up to the person to update it. :3

Khayal! A boiling babble rises from Anjali's lips as Khayal gets hit hard. Only Dhavyn would recognize it for the string of curse words that it is. Anjali opens her eyes, more alert now after Avenka's demanding words. As the cave floor jitters beneath them, the healer's gut twists with apprehension. With both the barbarian girl and Bartan far enough away from her that her healing might not reach them, she decides to make her way closer to the pair. Even as Dhavyn retreats, she strides forward, giving the crystalline structures a wide berth. Ever cautious during these delicate negotiations, Anjali keeps her crossbow in hand in case the situation devolves rapidly.

Anjali, a creature of emotion as well as sensation, lingered over the rushing waters of the waterfall, tilting her face up at the rushing waters. She shrugged sheepishly at Dhavyn when she emerged, completely soaked. Once he dried her clothes, she smiled and gave his arm a small squeeze of gratitude. An impromptu bath was better than no bath in her book. Further inside the cave, she stands back, listening intently to the exchange between the crystalline being and the rest of her companions. She takes a moment to admire Dhavyn's light bouncing off the creature's facets. Distracted by the dazzling lights, Anjali closes her eyes, trying to sift fact from fiction in the creature's words. Frustrated at not being able to fire her crossbow at any of the gnolls, Anjali is tense, wary, still waiting for the next fight. Everyone's words are still a jumble to her. She does, however, recognize that there were those still in need of healing, particularly Khayal. She closes her eyes and channels as much as she can, holding nothing of her energy back. Hopefully we can sneak this in when everyone was still bunched up together after the geier fight. Sorry guys, been too busy this weekend. But, Anjali wouldn't be able to understand any of their babbling anyway. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Anjali's looks around, pained at the decision she has to make. On both sides of the water, someone needs her healing. But she quickly realizes she cannot possibly position herself to heal everyone this time. The crossbow she clutches in her hands is useless. Biting her lip hard, she watches Dhavyn stagger towards her. "ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ 'ਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ. ਅਸ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ." Ignan:
"Dhavyndor, stay strong. Stay by me. We need your fire!" Khayal has also taken grave injuries from the creature. Anjali's choice is suddenly made for her. If I save these two, then we may buy enough time for me to heal the other. She moves a few steps, desperately thrusting her hand up as the words of healing rush out of her. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6

With the pump silenced, Anjali cranes her head, watching and listening for anything that might indicate the whereabouts of the nixie believed to be inhabiting this pool. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 All she hears is Bartan's compliment to Yazi over the torrent of water. Anjali clamps her jaw tightly and carefully loads her crossbow instead of commenting. Anjali looks up at the twin falls, marveling at how so much water could flow into one place. Her gaze strays to the pump, shaking her head at the interference of the gnolls in such a life-giving place. "You are correct, Dhavyn. Water is precious. What they are doing to this pond, it is wrong." As soon as the words leave her mouth, Anjali gets to work, combing through the area for tracks or signs of habitation. The last thing they needed was a nasty surprise. Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Caution drives Anjali to cast a spell to ward against the weather on herself before the sun gets hot enough to bake the sand beneath them. Soon enough though, Bartan's panting becomes too pronounced for her to endure. He likely made such sounds in that woman's company last night, she thought peevishly. Still, Anjali marches over to Bartan, her back ramrod straight. She utters a few words, smacking his shoulder harder than was necessary to deliver a spell that required touch. "There," she says tightly before marching back to her spot next to Khayal and Avenka. Spent 2 Endure Elements spells. Not sure if that takes care of the NL damage for Bartan.

Anjali rises, spending little time luxuriating in her bedroll. The Badawi girl is swift to gather her gear and weapons to ready herself for the day that awaits them. She takes the time to wash the previous day's grime off of her, utilizing the clean silver bowl and fresh water she conjured herself to freshen up. That done, she checks on Avenka. "How are you feeling this morning?"

Oh good. It would be a shame to waste Hadassa's popcorn. LOL! Yazi, positive vibes are good. She posted that they found their dogs - alive! They were sheltered by a collapsed ceiling. So fortunate. The neighbor's dog was not so lucky.

I do appreciate Dhavyn's attention to detail regarding the loot. Keeping time would be great too. I haven't had as much time to really focus on the wall of text posts. My in-game excuse is that Anjali is asleep/watching over Avenka and isn't as likely to be thrilled by what the gnolls have to say. In reality, I've been distracted. Someone I've known for a very long time online just got her house leveled in those twin tornadoes in Nebraska. :( EDIT: Depending on the timing of Yazi talking to the gnolls and poking about the courtyard (it seems to still be from the night before from what I can gather), hopefully it won't trigger an encounter since the casters are low on spells and it may cut into her sexy time with Bartan. XD

The normally helpful side of Anjali recedes as she stares back coldly in response to Almah's inquiry about the gnolls. "That is precisely it, say'yida. A gnoll is a gnoll. I say keep them locked up. It is as good a sanctuary as they deserve."

"We truly should," Anjali agrees. A cry of pain is the one thing that makes her move even before she even finishes talking. She sprints ahead of Khayal and finds the rest of the group in the secret garden and down a large hole in the ground. The diminutive healer shivers in the cold. "What in the Dawnflower's name is going on here? We heard screaming." She tsks at Avenka. "You shouldn't even be down here. You should be resting!" Waiting until Khayal joins them, Anjali looks up at the circular piece of light from the hole up above, thrusting her palm towards it. Another burst of healing fights the cold and seeps into her companions. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6 HP.

Khayal: Touched by the quiet fighter's gesture and unused to such generosity, Anjali blinks a few times before she replies in hushed tones. "Oh Khayal, I am a healer - like my mother was before me. It is what I do. You do not owe me anything. That you put yourself time and again between myself and the dangers before us is more than enough." The stone passes from her hands into Khayal's once more. [b]"This could save your life. You should take it."

Anjali takes Khayal's outstretched arm, leading him away from the rest of the group, his palm still holding his latest find. Khayal: "Where did you find this?" she whispers, taking the stone into her own hand to inspect it closely. "Look at the coloration of this stone, its shape..." Anjali chews on her lower lip, marveling at the stone's beauty. "I have heard of such things before. It is called an ioun stone. And ones such as this, colored a delicate violet the same as the desert blooms when the rains come, has the power to absorb somewhat powerful spells." Anjali presses it between her palms, bringing it up to her forehead as she closes her eyes. "It has been used before, but can still do the same for you a few more times at least." Her amber eyes flick open as she drops her hands slowly. With a soft smile, she hands the stone back to Khayal. "A fortunate discovery." Absorbs spells of 4th level or lower. The stone has absorbed 16 spells, 4 more remain.

Anjali moves toward Avenka and cradles her face, examining the darkened skin, the patches of mold. She shakes her head sadly. "This is beyond what I am capable of, Avenka. I am sorry." The healer chews on her lip, holding out the barbarian girl's arm to check on her hands. "What I can do is heal the damage that your body has taken." With Avenka badly hurt, Anjali closes her eyes and recites the words to mend her bruises and heal her wounds. The soft warmth of her healing surrounds the other girl, starting at the arm she cradles and working its way through her body. She glances up at the rest of her companions, the concern for the younger girl plain on her face. Anjali reflexively steps forward to reach for the stricken Hajar. Her speech devolves into guttural pops, like burning sap in a fire. The only thing for certain is that where Anjali's hand touches the paladin, a frisson of divine guidance passes from her and into him. As soon as she drops her hand from him, Anjali makes sure her crossbow is loaded. Casting Guidance on Hajar to add to the Blessing of Sarenrae bonus too.

"That is fascinating!" Anjali replies to Khayal. "I have not seen mold such as this in the Evergrowth before." Curiosity wars with caution as Anjali gingerly moves closer to the large basalt table to examine the mold there too.
