Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

I'm afraid I have to drop. I was hoping my job situation would stablize sooner rather than later, but it hasn't.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric will shoot at the nearest foe.

attack 1d20 ⇒ 10
damage 1d6 ⇒ 4

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"The more the merrier." Alric replies, thinking to himself at the same time, Also makes for a larger wall between me and the foe.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

I'm still here, just trying to get used to my new work schedule. It doesn't help that Alric really is not all that good at battle at the moment.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric will let the others take the stuff we found. He's much happier having a solid wall of support to hide behind.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric can help with the rats if need be, as long as someone can keep the rats off of him so he can use his bow.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric watches the scene quietly as he releases the lute, and is left empty handed once more. "Most impressive work, I'd say. I can only imagine how we would do with proper armor."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

I'm here, but for now, I can't do much since the lute takes up my hands. It's been an interesting week as I transition jobs.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Round 3
HP 9/9
AC 10/10(flat)/10(touch)

Alric will move up to C-60 as he continues to play the lute.

Move to the end of the tunnel. Free action to continue inspire courage.
6 rounds of bardic performance left.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Don't forget Inspire Courage, people. It does stack with Bless.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Round 2
HP 9/9
AC 10/10(flat)/10(touch)

Alric will move up as close to the entrance of the room as he can as he starts to play a combat tune on his lute, filling the souls of his allies with strength and inspiring them.

[ooc]Using Inspire Courage, which will stack with bless as it is now a competence bonus. +1 to hit and damage.
7 rounds remaining

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric will simply cast summon instrument on his turn.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric waits by Birene, ready to cast Summon Instrument should it prove to be a battle.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

I didn't really play Oblivion, so it has to be Skyrim. The issue I had was someone who had to tag along for a specific quest, but the trip was a quarter of the map long, and there is no actual road leading to the place I had to go.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that Skyrim's release coincided with the week that I had off as the full time contract ended, and the current schedule for the other part time contract was wrapping up. I think I'm actually ready for a break from Skyrim for a few days after that combo. I will be very glad when I get settled down into a full time job again with a routine schedule.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"We should spread the warriors out as much as possible. No point in having a watch if the only people awake are effectively unable to fight. Birard and the Nord would work for first watch, the two ladies can chat over second watch, and we Dunmer can take third watch. If anyone has any objections, bear in mind that the longer we debate this, the less rest we get, and the better the chance of being overheard." Alric's noble training comes through as he puts forth the plan with the expectation that there will be no arguments.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Anyone else disliking the whole companion AI. How the heck am I supposed to keep an idiotic NPC alive while I cross half the dang map without losing track of where the fool is?

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric finishes grabbing a few things before taking shortbow in hand, and staying close to the light source. "It appears our ancestors smile upon us today. Let us not waste the opportunity."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

I'm partial to Bretons, though I enjoy Dunmer as well. Both work well for the magus style characters I tend to end up playing.

I picked up the Steed one because it gives you +100lbs carrying capacity and Hvy armor doesn't slow you down.

I need to find that one. I don't use heavy armor, but the +100 lb carrying capacity is worth it by itself.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Just before leaving the room Alric sees a small object gleaming in the corner, and discovers that someone has carelessly thrown his family ring in the dust of the corner. Cursing the savages under his breath, so as not to offend the ladies, he carefully cleans it off, and puts in on. "It would appear that our way out is certainly going to be easier now that we can at least fight back. Still, these savages have proven surprisingly resourceful in the past, so it would be best not to underestimate them. Once we have had some proper rest, I can provide some proper music to assist us in battle, as well as some magic, but for now, I fear I am a bit too out of sorts, unable to provide anything but mere parlor tricks."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Only thing Alric would be concerned about specifically recovering his family's signet ring.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric looks over the selection of clothes, trying to hide a grimace as he he does so, painfully aware that even these poor substitutes for proper garments were better than his current garb. He grabs a backup set of clothes and a shortbow and some arrows, aware that his usual talents were not currently available to help him in the more honorable melee approach, and these savages weren't worth wasting much honor on anyway.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric will stay near the middle of the group, alert and watchful.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Can't say that I'm a fan of the interface for skills and such, but otherwise, a really nice game so far.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Having an inspiration, Alric adds, "Perhaps one of us should take the robes and put them on. It might help us bluff our way through at least minor hindrances, and hide weapons and gear as well."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"We were all in hoods, chances of seeing anything were near impossible," Alric points out. "Hopefully, we can find a good clothes locker as well. I for one could use some proper attire, or at least something better than this. Is anybody here particularly a sneaky type that scout ahead with less chance of being seen?"

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"I am Alric Dres, formerly of the Grand Court in Morrowind, more lately battle singer for Morrowind troops in our fight against the filthy lizards of the swamps. Collecting our personal belongings, and those of these savage idiots who dared to imprison us, would be a good thing. They have a signet ring that I would very much like to get back."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"This just gets odder and odder with every passing day. Oh well, I suppose the ancestors will simply have to wait another day, provided one of us can reach the key." Alric's calm is remarkable as he remains focused on the immediate situation.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"Perhaps, but most people working for mercenary companies are working for coin, not national pride. That is not to say that the motives of one is better in the other, as many who claim the high road are really mercenaries in their own way, simply that they are different."

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

"It seems rather unlikely we were all fighting for the Dunmer; even if these others wanted to, there is still the matter of whether they would be allowed to." Alric points out quietly.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric, taller than the average imperial, but not much heavier, retains his noble bearing through it all. After all, this is merely a physical beating by a bunch of savages, nothing compared to the mental beatings he had to absorb in court from his peers. He stays silent during the torture sessions, not afraid of death. After all, his ancestors await him on the other side, and it is they who shall decide his fate, not some Imperial scum. The attempts to take advantage of the ladies in the group simply confirms his suspicion that he now in the hands of savages. He appraises each of his companions with a cold, practiced eye, relieved to see that at least there are no Argonians among them.

Male Dunmer Dirge Bard

Alric here checking in.

The stats are under key stats. The avatar, well, talk to the people who run this site about that; there are only so many good ones before you have to start taking what you can get. This one should be slightly better.

Sunshadow here with Alric Dres, disgruntled Dunmer noble bard.

I tweaked the background a bit to make it work with all these karnathi folk.

Hmm, my concept may have some difficulty fitting in with some of the karnathi, but then again it would make for some fun roleplaying. At any rate, here is the basic profile for your perusal; equipment and details on the skills will probably be added tomorrow. When you said 3rd level, does that mean the starting wealth is 3000 as per the character wealth per level chart? Also, are you using traits or not? I included the plant grafts, but may not get them, at least to start, depending on starting gold (the original was lvl 6 so had a little more gold to work with.)
