Male Human Wizard

Hand of the Apprentice: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
quarterstaff damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Using his fifth Hand for the day, Alexander uses his staff to attack a bug on the Asmodea.

Male Human Wizard

Refusing to get even close to combat, Alexander uses his Hand of the Apprentice for the fourth time today.

Hand of the Apprentice: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Quarterstaff damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Male Human Wizard

We should approach slowly to let me keep up my detect magic spell and try to get an early warning of danger.

Male Human Wizard

Maybe it's the surface, let's go that way.

Male Human Wizard

I don't detect any magic. I think it's safe to touch, unless anyone else wants to detect traps.

Male Human Wizard

Alexander casts detect magic as he planned, and spends the time to observe any magical auras he finds.

Male Human Wizard

Alex releases his quarterstaff from his grip at the most damaged cockroach, if any.

Hand of the Apprentice: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Male Human Wizard

Hold on. Before anyone tries to get the backpack, let me check a few things.

Alex is going to use Detect Magic. Can I get both the backpack and the bones in my area of effect?

Male Human Wizard

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Alex looks around for danger. The encounter with the maggots is keeping his focus high.

Male Human Wizard

I suppose so. Is anyone else carrying giant parasites that we should know about.

Male Human Wizard

That shield other scale sounds good for me then. And sorry for my slow posting as well.

Male Human Wizard

Alex releases his quarterstaff from his hand. It flies off to strike the last of the maggots. Hand of the Apprentice: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Human Wizard

Alex will also take what no one wants.

Male Human Wizard

To Asmodea, Alex says, "My name is Alexander Grayson. I'm in the city for research purposes. I study the history of the Worldwound and the Riftwardens."

To Aravashniel, he says, "Fortunately, I do not have much in the way of combat experience. Though, I know a few magic tricks if the occasion calls for it."

Male Human Wizard

"Oh. My head." Alex groans in pain. "Can someone turn those lights down? I've got a headache," he says in response to the floating orbs of light. "What happened? What was that noise?" His inexperience in combat is beginning to get to him.

Male Human Wizard

Alex checks in a the gate and asks for directions to the city's library. He is eager to get to work on his research regarding the Riftwardens. However, he finds most of the staff slacking off due to the festivities. After trying to get a receptionist to do her job for an hour, he growls in frustration and heads out to find an inn to stay at.

Male Human Wizard

Alexander Grayson here. Just need to put up my gear.

All right. I'll be seeing group 1 when the thread comes up.

Alias is made with everything but gear.

If recruitment is still open, I would like to propose this character. He's a bit of everything universalist. Professionally, he's a historian of the Worldwound. I'll take a Rogue dip for the class bonuses to Perception and Disable Device and the trapfinding for when he goes into fieldwork. I'll be taking the Archmage Mythic Path.

Backstory:

After the death of his parents, young Alexander Grayson attended a prestigious Wizarding University on the wealth of his inheritance. Having learned through the will that his parents were heroes of an organization called the Riftwardens and that their powerful magic ran through his veins, Alex felt the desire to follow in his parents footsteps. Being depended on to write wrongs and drive back evil doers appealed to his adventurous mind. However, the university introduced him to a more practical and steady way of thinking, and for a while, the orphaned young man seemed to settle down, working his way towards becoming a professor at the school himself. However while writing his senior thesis in his last semester, the term Riftwardens kept showing up in his research. Reminded of his parents, he looked deeper into the events surrounding the hidden warriors and became fascinated with them.

After graduation, he obtained a grant to study the history of the Crusades into the Worldwound the Riftwardens were supposedly working to isolate. Finally, he has arrived at the war torn city, ready to undertake his research. For the first time in his life, Alexander feels close to parents. Who knows, maybe he'll be contacted by the organization they once belonged to.

If it's okay, I would like to hold off on buying gear until I know if I'm accepted or not. If that's not okay, I'll buy my gear now.

So, I combine a trip weapon with Quick Drag to get the effect I want.

Now, I just need a way for it to be ranged. Double Chained Kama has reach so that could work and it's a monk weapon so I can use it with flurry of blows.

Ahah! Ultimate Combat: Quick Drag.

Now then, GET OVER HERE!

I'm making a monk character. Is there a way to use part of a flurry of blows to attempt a combat maneuver? I saw the maneuver master archetype, but it goes too far with what I'm trying to do. I only want to skip out on one, maybe two, attacks, not my whole flurry of blows feature.

I wish luck to all the remaining players.

Lee Jascot, Shield and Sword Ranger for your consideration.

Question

A messenger from the gods has appeared before you. What does this messenger look like?

Answers
1. An old man with a staff
2. An ill dressed youth
3. A beautiful girl

A beautiful girl.

Male Human Wizard

"Thank you for the assistance, Kindred Tarkon, and this spirit is the best I've had in a long time. Though, you didn't answer my question. What brings you out to a place like this?"

Tarvelin eyes the halfling when she starts standing on chairs and shouting. Clearly, the human had insulted her. Silly humans, unable to tell a child from a halfling. He watches the argument in case it gets worse.

This is my submission for the campaign.

Falx is a roguish warrior with a specialty in the sickle. He may go duelist, but I'm not sure yet.

His Backstory:
Falx was raised in a small rural farming town that was normally very self-sufficient. However, when he was a teenage, the town was attacked by a tribe of orcs. They slaughtered nearly everyone in the village. The only reason Falx is still alive is that he got a lucky strike against the orc warrior that had killed his family. However, he would have died in the wilderness anyway had a traveling bard troupe not picked him up. They took him to the nearest town where he was able to enlist with the guards. They trained him in the use of simple weapons you can find anywhere, including the sickle he still carried with him.
