"Thalia, whom would you recommend that would be safe to turn them in to? Or at least, someone more neutral?"

"I am impressed by your comments, Mr. Rateliff, and I concur. Mr. Bryton's role will need to be examined, and he may also have evidence to present." Ale' says with an air of curiosity.

Sander Bryton, that would be the eagle knight captain we met at the beginning, correct?

evidence: collectively, including what we found in Thalia's room, and in the lock box where we rescued her from?

After fully securing Koriana(with the help of his companions), removing all known, and possible spell components, gagging her, and otherwise making sure she can't escape, Ale' performs a thorough search of the premises.

clearly Ale' needs to invest some ranks in bluff... That said, I'd still like to use that roll to try to determine the validity of her claim.

Basically what I was thinking, until we find more evidence, thank you.

Thalia is convinced her father is behind, or at least, involved in her abduction. We can at least hold Koriana until we find more evidence, but she will need to be completely subdued, lest she try anything to escape. There may be some more evidence here that could help...

Ale' calmly walks over to Koriana, "I see, so you're saying is her fate is out of our hands then..." sounding defeated.

pause for dramatic effect!

Once within reach of Koriana, Ale' begins to offer his hand(still gauntleted), but quickly grabs for her wrist/arm, attempting to twist it into an arm-bar and force her to the ground.

"Andoran is about freedom of choice, among other things, is it not? I suspect your vague happily-ever-after is not the choice she wishes to make."

I have more to add, but will need to do so after taking care of a few things. If the gm sees this before I get back, Ale' wants to check knowledge on being able to legally arrest Koriana as an accessory to Thalia's kidnapping. I'm thinking that should be an easy yes, but would like clarification

"Though I cannot speak for everyone, truth and righteousness can have a more lasting impact than money. I suggest telling us the truth about what is going on around here, with the Andares family, and anything else relevant as to why we are here."

Ale' looks back at Thalia, bowing "I only wish the required motives were more pure, and the events less stressful on you."

"Our superiors seek a mutually beneficial arrangement with the Andoran government and its militay. We were told that saving Thalia would help bring some added benefit towards realizing their request."
Ale' pauses for a moment.
"However, yes, her father was unwilling, adamant even, that there would be no help from him in finding her. He did not forbid our attempt, and, as we still had a mission to accomplish, we proceeded. After securing Thalia's freedom from her captor, there were new questions to the parties involved, and/or their motives behind the abduction. We, and Thalia, wish to discover the truth."

Ale' stays back, covering Thalia from the older woman's view. "You may take point for this discussion, Noor."

"As my companion indicated, some tea might be nice to settle down with. Yes, we do have something specific in mind." Ale' motions for the older lady to lead on.

Ale' leans close to Noor, a barely audible whisper in her ear, "Anything you can do to check for poisons, or detoxify the tea would be appreciated..."

I'm assuming Thalia is attempting to maintain some anonymity, initially, from Koriana. If she didn't, I would have requested her to do so, until "the proper moment".
Ale' steps forward, "We might be... We have a variety of interests here. What kinds of exotics might you possibly deal in as well?"

The building with the alchemist shop is mostly abandoned, except for that portion, from what we can see outside?
Ale' nods at the old farmers comments, "How long has this been going on for, that you can recall? Are there any other concerns you, or other locals, regarding the consul, that you might be willing to share?

After those answers:
"What can you tell us about the apothecary who runs the shop over there?" Ale' says as he points in the direction of the alchemist's shop.

Ale' takes some time to tend to the man and his cow. heal check take 10 +6 "Good day sir, it was fortunate we arrived when we did to assist you. How are you feeling? Do you require any additional help by chance?" Ale' says kindly to the farmer. "Might you be able, or willing, to answer a couple of questions before we part ways?"

Ale', after offering the magic scrolls to his companions, carefully stores the lockbox, and it's contents, in his backpack after careful examination of the bars and documents.

Before heading out, Ale' takes a thorough look around the basement room where Thalia was being held.

Ale' collects the leftover coinage and returns it to his bag. He also gives Thalia one more look over for injuries:
heal: take 10+6 and uses Boscos wand if needed, returning with thanks when done "When you are ready, my lady, we shall accompany you to see this investigation completed. We can continue talking about what happened to you on the way."
Getting this sorted out may take some time, hopefully she will be a bit more open on the walk.

I have craft tattoo (+7), which uses ink, would that be acceptable in place of alchemy? Otherwise:

Ale' commits the man's appearance to memory, in case his companions arrows do not find their mark, When this is done, or perhaps sooner, we'll need to locate this man again...
Ale' moves up to Thalia, and looks her over to confirm she's physically unharmed.

"My lady, what an unfortunate ordeal you've been dealing with, and I apologize for the less than cordial method used to resolve it." Ale' says to Thalia, with a concerned and apologetic tone. "Can we now talk about the events that brought you here? Your father was quite opposed to offering us any assistance in finding you, and that seems quite, well, strange. Our superiors in the Pathfinder Society, were hoping to create a mutually beneficial agreement with your safe return to him." A gentler, more compassionate voice comes through. "Something you commented earlier, plus some other information, however, I get the feeling the two of you aren't on very good terms right now..."

From the main room, what are all the usable exits that Ale' can see?

does it look like Ale' could deliberately jump/drop through the opening and avoid Thalia, getting between her and Enderios? His take 10 acrobatics for jumping would be 16, to ignore the first 10 feet of falling.

so, would it be more accurate to describe the stairs as a ladder with wider rungs going basically straight down(maybe 10 degree angle)(able to jump down), and Thalia is sitting on one of the bottom ones, or are we talking something with more slope to it(able to run down)? And how far down from this floor to the bottom?

I'm not quite sure what to make of the map, is Ale' at the top of the stairs able to see down, relatively unobstructed then or did he back up to allow Noor clearance? And if so, what does he see right now?

As a player, I won't be offended if someone jumps him before/during/after the exchange of coin. I know some characters here are much more about action than talking. As the character, Ale' was attempting to allude that, for everyone, at any time, any person can change the course of events. The emphasis he tried to lay out was his feelings, where as a liberty's edge faction member would probably have already jumped the guy. Justice, and the safety of Thalia, it's a delicate balance, and I apologize if it seems like I'm trying to hog the spotlight. I'm not. Ale' does feel like being a teacher/parent/guardian with the character levels present and wants to keep them from getting into too much trouble. Since he happens to have decent social skills, and this scenario has had the ability to use them, yes, he'll try to use them. Ale' is/will attempt to phrase the deal to be strictly between himself, and Enderios so as not to bind the rest of the party to his action. If someone else disagrees as he's leaving and takes him down/knocks him out, well, he won't be happy someone broke his deal, but he's not going to oppose having more potential evidence about her abduction since that's something we are investigating. I hope this helps. To me, it feels like maybe people aren't posting because they don't want to cause friction, hopefully I'm wrong.

Ale' turns to Zuumas, "As Pathfinders, we must be prepared for many different outcomes. Plans, they don't often play out as laid out, or hoped. Improvisation is often necessary.". He places a hand on his smaller companions shoulder. "I do not like the idea of letting him go, but if it provides us some information that can lead us to the person that requested her capture, while keeping the lady from immediate harm, I'm willing to accept that."

the offered paperwork can also be evidence, whomever hired these people to kidnap her, we could find out whom that is, and that at least, should hope to be useful. It's not ideal, but it's appearing to be our least injurious option

I just added something extra to my post, apparently as you were typing yours.
(2) yes, I agree, we do have magical healing available, if it comes to that, will be used. Hence the add since Ale' would really like to either have him interrogated more, or at least turn him in for kidnapping, until/unless evidence suggests otherwise.

Ale' retrieves a small coin pouch, counts out 100gp from his pack, places them in the smaller pouch, ties it shut, and jingles it noisily above stairs. "Is it a written contract by chance? I would like to have it if so, as well."

Ale' looks to his comrades nearby, and attempts to convey silently, out of sight from the basement people, his wish to have the man grappled and tied up.

Appreciative that at least one other isn't just out for blood, Ale' calms down, some. "So, why the sudden change of heart regarding who she is? You must have had your doubts upon securing, and spending time with the lady. We appreciate that you have treated her well, and that can be reflected in our report.". Ale' calls back, after the others have spoken. "I still believe this can be resolved without more blood being spilled. Being that you have treated her decently, mostly, I believe you have a sense of honor about yourself. Detect evil, when I have sufficient visibility

Adjusting his voice some, "My lady Thalia, I have a different suspicion about your why you're here, and I'd like to hear your version about what happened to you."

"Our information, including your own guards here, confirm the young lady as Thalia Andares. We were sent to 'rescue her'." Ale' calls down. "While I would prefer to negotiate in good faith, not everyone in company here necessarily agree with me. It is fortunate you spoke when you did, as you might not be in that position for long. By what, or who's authority do you refer in detaining the lady?"

intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

"Or, take him into custody, depending upon how this plays out. I'm hoping for a reasonably good explanation from him for getting shot at, and..." Ale' says frustrated, just loud enough for the occupants in the cellar to hear.

"Let's not antagonize the man any more than we have to, we may garner more useful information, or a peaceful resolution, if we can reach an accord" Ale' asks of his companions.

Well, at least he's not immediately threatening her, as far as I can tell...
Ale' sighs slightly, then answers the man's questions. "Attacking you? I'll have you know your people shot first, sir. We, are Pathfinders. We came seeking the Lady Andares. Your men decided to shoot, rather than agree to talk first. But talk they did after." Ale' pauses, then continues, "Now that we have your attention, and with your hired help now defeated, we'd like to know what is going on here. As her father was quite opposed to helping us, perhaps you'd be willing to shed some light on the situation?"

"I find this a curious situation. As you may, or may not recall, our lady appeared to be willingly studying, not forced to, per our divination report." Ale' states, then looks to the brigand who spoke, "You wouldn't happen to know what the books were about?"

Ale' picks up one of the clw potions, a thunderstone, and a tanglefoot bag and puts them in a pouch.

Looking to the speaking brigand again, "Is there a code/passphrase that was established to let those inside know it's you coming down?"
