A 3rd level alchemist that takes Weapon Focus(Humanoid) so he can literally throw people at the enemy.

I threw a soaking wet paladin at a fire elemental just to see what would happen! ;)

"Aidan, no!" Allura calls out. "This isn't you! I know that the time you spent at the Carnival damaged your spirit, but you don't have to let that win! Please, Aidan, fight this!"

For an instant, he flickers back to normal.

"You have no idea what that place was like! Don't you [b]dare say you know what happened to me![/i]

Seems like a good time to do this.

As he watches, each pulse of negative energy batters into him, despite the fact he is nowhere near the casters. In an attempt to get away from the dark energy, he flies to the top of the Eyrie, only to be bombarded by conflicting magic. Aidan begins to see dark images floating around him, surronding him, and his fire does them no harm. Soon he is covered in darkness, and collaspes in a ball of shadows.

"Of course. I am sure that Starsong would also be glad to help. Though perhaps we might be better off consulting one of the other champions to see if their magic ever did anything so strange."

"I.. I don't want people to know. I know nobody in the Eyrie would say anything, but the might think it. And if our enemies somehow found out, in anyway, they may try to use it against me. But whatever you do, don't tell my brother, I don't want him worrying about something that could turn out to be nothing."

Djuhah the Djinn wrote:
"How may I be of service to you, young fire champion?" Djuhah asks politely once Aidan has found him. In spite of all the chaos around him the djinn seems perfectly calm.

"Lately, something has seemed very wrong. With my magic, that is. Like something lurking just below the surface, waiting to get free. I... tried to move it into a single pure gem I created, but it blew up and melted into useless stone. Once, after I had a scroll to bring me back, I sent a small ray of flame at Oroth, to see if the wards would send me to another plane. I felt the magic start to affect, then felt it burn away. I wake up at night with dreams of that wretched carnival still vivid in my ming and fire streaming from my hand into macabre images. Something is wrong, Djuhah, but I think I can keep it under control until this battle(if there is one) is over. When it is safe, I'd like your help fixing whatever is wrong."

There is a small booming sound from within the room Aidan was working, and he crashes through the door(now nothing more than than charred wood and ash) to slam into he wall. He slowly and shakily stands, glaring at the red gemstones that had melted and bubbled as a result of his failure. Now nothing more than a red heap of worthless stone. He starts pulling gem shards out of his arms and torso as he goes of to find Djuhah.

Searching for Djuhah, because he believes LJ has enough on her mind right now, Oroth would be very mad, and he doesn't know JH(or Ch'ack Hammer) used to be the Earth Champion. Also, is anyone going to try and contact The Bard? With Pat out until something is done with our free-form game's messageboard placement, I feel I can bring him in(and Rio if need be). Mirathan or Nymora could be useful if someone can get them here in time.

Everyone within the Eyrie or the Sanctuary can hear the following within their mind.

The wards have been changed somewhat. The one known as the Mask as well as his knowing allies and the ones known as Dral, Tarvek, and Stina, as well as any evil-aligned servants of the boards are banned from this place. Should they find a way of getting through the protections, the restriction on attacking another within this place does NOT apply to them.

Over the past few days, Aidan could be seen with someone almost all the time or all alone and shaping small bit a fire. After talking to Oroth, he steps through the omniportal and returns with a pack bulging at odd angles. He finds an empty room, moves the furniture into another room and starts to work. Now, with Lynora-Jill's telepathic message still clear in his mind, he starts working furiously. In his haste though, he forgot to put a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, and forgot to place wards to keep the heat his Champion magic is generating in the room...

Basically, anyone who goes to investigate the sudden rise in temperature will be able to. The heat is not strong enough to cause burns outside of the room. People can sense that it will be dangerously hot if they go inside(though not if they open the door and look in).

Stop it.

"I'll go get Oroth then, he's upstairs trying to figure out what that shard does..."

A minute or two later, Aidan and Oroth arrive downstairs ready to go.

"Do you want me to search for his parents?"

Tristan gulps and looks at Aiden hard, but he still says nothing. He opens his mouth to speak, but his only reply is a harsh raspy gurgle.

"Well that can't be good. I'll see if with have any of that sweet-water left." He goes back into the house, leaving the door open for Tristan and Lk.

Sweet-water is not wine. Is Tristan mute, or is it the trauma off seeing a puupy rip a goblin's throat out?

"I'll help too."

"Of course, asking one of the gravity elementals to activate a gravity shoot would have saved you some time," replies Sunny G, this time both verbally and telepathicly. "Again, welcome to the Sanctum. How may we be of service?"

"We're looking for someone. We were told he was... here.."

His eyes widen as he sees Oroth without his shadows making him look older, and all the equipment that he has.

"Oro? Is that you?"

Rurouni Kenshin reference!

I was just pointing out how much longer it is taking to get to one of the best places to see the sun since we're taking the stairs. I hope this doesn't go the way of Icarus...

Allura wrote:

Aidan's a boy. He's like ten or twelve years old. I don't think he'd like being called a lady. :)

Indeed he does not.

For some strange reason, thought of fire and lava stream through Aidan's mind. He puts such thoughts away for later...

Murmuring under his breath, Aidan works his Fire magic,

"Since the circumstances could turn dire

Now the places where Alaina has most recently stepped are outlined in faint blue-white fire that has no smoke and does not burn.

"Aidan calm down. I think that Sytt is supposed to be a name not a command. Perhaps someone she wishes to consult for help? Or perhaps we could try consulting Alaina at the Sanctum. I mean, she's a powerful priestess too and divinations have to be a lot easier when your deity is actually present right there."

Not wanting to take any chances,

"Okay. Esmarelda sorry about leaving when you've done so much to help, but this may go faster is more people are trying. Let's go Allura."

Aidan carefully hands here the note.

"I know what you're thinking, boy. Stop. Down that way lies evil, and that is the path Oroth escaped. What would he say if his brother went down the same path?"

Suddenly, she jerks upright.
"By the Boardmother! He is not yet dead!"

Aidan's attitude changes instantly. Hope seems to flow from him in waves.

"What do you mean? Don't mess with me right now."

"Would you try to stop me Allura?"

He grabs Oroth's thin blade and looks at her.
"Please tell me who killed him Allura. I don't care what happens anymore, I just want his killer to die, screaming as fire eats through him until nothing but a pile of ash is left."
He sounds very determined and scary calm.

Allura sits down next to Aidan. "I'm so sorry. I know he was your friend. I wish I could have done more to help him."

"He told me you couldn't have helped him, but you did ease his... passing. For that, I thank you. He didn't want me to tell anyone this, thought the Carnival would use him against me, but that doesn't matter now does it? He wasn't just my friend, he was my older brother and we were all we had. I ran away one day after we had a fight about my going to the Carnival. Turns out he was right. When they said I could join, I didn't know they had something horrible in mind for my act. I've blocked those memories away and I don't want them back. The last thing I said to Oro was to see if he'd go to that evil cirque. It's my fault he went there, my fault he's gone."

He's eyes water again and he turns away from Allura.

Devlyn blinks.

"Wait - what!? Aidan? Aidan where are you!? What happened?!"

Sobbing can be heard through the crystal.

"I don't know. Sirone says he woke up long enough to write the letters, and then he... he... couldn't breath. I'm still at the Oasis."

When Aidan gets his letter, he starts to cry. Shakily he pulls out the communication crystal Mr. Duskwalker gave him.

"Allura, Delvyn? It's Aidan. Um, Oroth is dead, and he left a letter to you."

He cuts off the communication quickly and runs to the other side of the Oasis to be alone.

They have taken him to the carnival. I understand if you don't want to think about that awful place, but anything you can tell me would be appreciated. I'd like to be well prepared when we arrive."

"Um... I don't know anything about it really, but I know someone who might, wait here." He runs to another part of the Oasis, and returns followed by Oroth.

Aidan greets Nimora with the welcome of a good friend.

Aidan appears brfore a legion of undead and harlequins.
"Hello... and goodbye!" Faire sears the undead as Aidan speaks those words.

Nimora looks over at Aidan in confusion as the army of undead suddenly vanish. They rejoin Kaelar near the portal.

"I am being not certain what was being happen just now, but I is thinking the fight is being over for now. Until they is being come to another place."

By the time Aidan gets to the portal, the fire around him has died down. Aidan does not look well and stumbles. When Nimora grabs him to keep him from falling, she gasps.

His flesh is too cold for someone recently enveloped in flame.

Nimora Orlbereth wrote:

Nimora clutches her trident and net, grateful for the undead fighting crystal that Devlyn gave her. She glances over at Aidan.

"This is only the second time I have fought on land. I'd rather not end this by dragging your body off the field like I had to do with Mirathan, so try to stay safe okay."
Keeping near the portal, trying to be ready to retreat at a moment's notice, she begins to plow through the undead in a whirl of speed, always guarding Aidan's back.

No worries Nimora. He smiles. If you have to drag me off, it'll be because I'm exhuasted.

He seems to fly through the undead, his starknives spinning as if they have a mind of their own. Suddenly, his starknives burst into flames, bright orange streaked with black. He fighting style changes, he spins to block attacks and make his own. Fire blazes in his eyes as he fights, protecting Nimora even as she protects him.

Looks something like this: 2:39.

*Aidan thinks it over.*
"Maybe a fire opal or ruby. You know something good at storing power?"
He looks around quickly and leans closer to Oroth*
"Hey, when are we going to tell everyone we're brothers?"

*With the danger passed, Aidan returns to his training. Devlyn's influence can be seen, Aidan's movement is steady now, more graceful. Any looking closely can see a heat shimmer around him, but might think it's caused be the desert the Oasis sits in.*

For now very few can sense the spark that is slowly becoming a wildfire burning within him. I'm thinking the Champions of course, along with Alaina, Sunny G, and KC. Devlyn might also hazard a guess, since the armor is recognizable, but he'll have to ask The Bard if it's true.

The Dalesman wrote:

Devlyn chases the creature off to be sure, then comes back, returns to his normal human form, and gets back his things from Allura.

"You're not embarrasing yourself, Nimora - I'll work with both of you. But wooden versions of weapons only, at least at first - okay?"

"I think that would be a good idea, Mr. Delvyn, more bruises and less blood that way."

*Looking around, he spies the rust monster.*

"Um.. shouldn't somebody stop him?"

"Mr. Duskwalker, he made it for someone named Acme, but thought I'd have better use for it."
*He points over to The Bard.*

Remember the 'project The Bard was talking about? *Insert maniacal grin here*

Nimora swings again, missing wildly as she loses her balance, and hissing slightly as her gaffe has caused her to get a small cut on her arm from the starknife.

I is being most sorry, Aidan, she says, glancing at her bloody shoulder. That was being clumsy of me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I told Mr. Duskwalker I shouldn't be using sharp weapons."

*He seems sad to have hurt a friend.*

Nimora Orlbereth wrote:

Nimora feints toward Aidan, barely keeping her balance as she does so. She blushes.

I is need try that again.
She attempts to hit him with the flat of her trident, this time moving a little more gracefully.

*Aidan doesn't manage to dodge the trident completely, cringing as it hits his armor. He steadies himself and attempts to block Nimora's next attack with one starknife, and tries to hit her with the flat of the other.*

This was the best avatar I could find.

*Kaelar and Aidan step out of the forge. Aidan seems different, he looks a bit taller and his hair has turned white. He is wearing red armor that should be familiar to those from the Club. After The Bard points her out, Aidan walks over to Nimora.*

"Um.. your Nimora right? Mr. Duskwalker said you agreed to spar with me. I'm new at this so can you go easy on me?"

*He takes two starknves from his belt, and waits for her to ready herself. Kaelar stands in the shade of tree nearby, watching with a small grin on his face.*

Should we move this to the RP thread?
