well, if you want melee, you would do better with another class. Inquisitors don't have much in the way of weapon proficiencies, excepting ranged ones. if you want melee, I would go Ranger. I also wouldn't worry too much about healing, just explain to your cleric (great RP opportunity) that you have special needs due to a blemish on your bloodline, and that he should take precautions, excepting you from channeling positive energy, preparing inflict wounds, and the like. Personally, were I you, I would stick with inquisitor, but take the Kinslayer archetype. With pharasma as your deity, you should have little difficulty finding a good flavor for your character. Should you still want to have some... sanguinary urges, take the fangs option from the Advance Race Guide, and the blood drinker feat. please note, however, that feeding on the unwilling living is an evil act. for more ideas in that regard, take a look at http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2ozge?Dhampir-Blood-Thirst#1 and http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2ozsg?Dhampir-inquisitor-alignment#1. Good luck, and I hope I helped!
I realize that in most mythologies vampires require no sustenance beyond the life energy found in blood. But, as a Halfling, would I still crave that flagon of mead, or that roast mutton turning slowly over the fire to succulent perfection? Do vampires have functioning taste buds? What of the living survives undeath?
Certain proficiencies might. I mean, the only reason elves, for example, are proficient with longswords, among other things, is their society and culture. Elven magic might be cultural, and naturally, the language is. What parts of the living parent's race would carry over to the child, and how would aging be effected? If a human dhampir ages like an elf, how does an elven dhampir age?
ok, so I have been working on a dhampir inquisitor for my wife's Carrion Crown campaign. I went with the kinslayer archetype from the ARG. I also took the fangs trait and the Blood Drinker feat at first level. His patron is Pharasma, and so I need to stay one step from true neutral. My qeustion is this: Although he has a burning hatred for the undead, especially vampires, he tries no to harm innocents as a personal code. However, there are times when his blood thirst becomes too much for him to control, say when he hasn't "fed" in a while and sees someone cut themselves shaving, or in a particularly bloody fight or something like that. So he goes for the source of fresh blood, say if he fights bandits, and just tears into their throats. Where would you put him as far as alighnment. He strives to protect the innocent, but has these sanguinary cravings that counters his code. And to head off what I know to be forthcoming, the feat specifically states that it has to be blood from the living, and one type of humanoid, in this case humans.
As far as the fast healing, i suggest the following I got from a PF compatable pdf. Quick Healer (Su): You can use fast healing 1 for a number of
where in the bestiary does it say they do? Undead do not need to sustain themselves. Ghouls do not need to eat humanoid flesh any more than vampires need to drink the blood of the living, at least not for any physical reason. They may have a psychological compulsion due to their undead state, but it is by no means a necrological necessity, if you will pardon the expression.
I just want to make a monster hunter period, but focus on vampires. He's trying to find hus undead father, and will kill any and all vampires (after interrogations of course) that he can until he gets to his sire. at the same time though, he has to deal with the fact that he is tainted by his undead heritage, and while it has perks, there are drawbacks, both physical and social. Like Abraham Van Helsing from Dracula (the book, not any of the movies), if he were half vampire. and a badass, instead of just bookish.
My wife is planning on running Carrion Crown, and like almost everyone else on these messageboards, I'm planning on running a Dhampir Inquisitor. My wife is open to 3rd party suppliments rules, and I found one that has it so that the dhampir, while not as keenly as his undead parent, has a need to drink the blood of his foes. Based on the rules above, if my character were to feed on someone for the purposes of sustaining himself to continue his fight against the monsters of the world, would that be an evil act? and if he were to fail his check enough, I was imagining a kind of blood rage, similar to what Seras (Police Girl) from the anime Hellsing underwent. How would something like this work, and what abilities would this bloodrage replace to balance it?

I have a slight problem with how that was handled, in that Inquisitors are members of the church that are set above all the others. rules do not apply to them. A more accurate example would be a rookie secret service agent walking up to a captain in the Army and demanding the key due to a matter of national security.

Fantastic, that is funny for reasons I probably shouldn't go into! But I like the idea of a "work in progress gun," or the gunsmith kit. I was just trying to think of a way to do it without handwaving it, but it seems I may need to. Just creatively. Thanks for the advice!
I have a player with a tiefling bard who want's to multiclass to a gunslinger to give his character almost a western feel. I wouldn't have a problem with this, but for the free battered gun at first level. I don't want to tell him he can't do it, but I am unsure how to let him do it beyong just dropping a gun into his lap via loot from foes or have him buy one via black market or something. Ideas? Thanks.

I already thought about the heavy armor bit from reading the fighter entry in the player's guide, so he's wearing a chain shirt. I really like the idea of the paladin/bard, moreso than the oracle, but I appreciate the input on that.

Lore and nature are not domains of Iomedae, and though Oracles devote themselves to aspects of deities, if I were to go that route, (now I'm thinking about it) I would choose Iomedae's domains.
I recently made an aasimar paladinfor my friend's Serpent's Skull game, and was curious as to which, if any multiclass or prestige class options would be good. Classic sword and board right now, and his deity is Iomedae. I was thinking maybe sprinkling bard in there, using the hymns of the Inheritor to inspire my comerades, and maybe the Inheritor's Crusader Prc. Thoughts? Also, mount or bonded sword? |
