Dirk climbs into the sub, and finds it is really wet inside. In fact, it is completely flooded.
Which would seem normal for a sub accommodating an aquatic passenger. The sub is in fully functioning order.

Stell reports that the flooded interior is not due to damage or malfunction, simply the SOP for beings whose natural habitat is under water.
After hearing Amy's report, Stell says, "So far, so good. They made it safely this far. Let's see if we can find them, keeping fingers crossed they are okay ... that is, unless we need our fingers for firing guns and gripping knives," she adds with a wink.
Just to be sure, Stell activates the radio and broadcasts a message, "Starfinders. If you are receiving this message, please respond. We're Starfinders sent to determine your status after not hearing messages from you."
She checks her weapons and heads for the exit hatch.

Before exiting, Twila-5 routes all communication sent to the sub to her group's headsets, just in case the missing team responds later. She grabs her pinhole rift rifle as she exits the intentionally-flooded sub. "Is anyone good at looking for tracks? Otherwise we just have to guess where they'd go first."
Twila-5 will aid whoever volunteers to search for tracks. Otherwise she'll try on her own.

Amy just raises an eyebrow. She then attempts to start the sub just to make sure the systems work. I should point out that this submarine is like ours, it can be filled with air, or water. Presumably the morlamaw crew preferred it this way.
At the tracking comment. Erm, how are you going to search for tracks if they are swimming?

Amy powers down the submarine then swims out to join Twila. I suppose that could work. Erm, Twila. Do you have your ground vehicle license for driving on Absalom Station? I can fly starships, pilot submarines and boats, but I cannot seem to get the hang of driving. Besides, it's SO scary.

Stell sends a message, but already at the short range her group members are on, the message is barely audible through cracks and static. There's very little chance that anyone beyond a good 100 feet would be able to hear the message.
Inside the sub, there is some equipment left behind: two purple nanite hypopens , one serum of remove affliction, two mk 3 serums of healing, an auto-injector and a lesser electron.
There are very little tracks to follow, but the path forward is quite obvious: about 50 feet on, a trench splits the ocean’s floor. On its far side, a great expanse of basalt rises from the depths. It first flattens into a shelf, where bioluminescent corals shine through the dark. Beyond that, it slopes another twenty feet upwards as bare rock. Metal poles as large as trees rise through the ocean and support a spire that rises far above with its peak barely visible through the murky water. A dimly glowing substance is smeared along one of these metal poles.
The trench is over 200 feet deep. The sandy surface at its top slopes upward, rising 5 feet for every 10 feet of horizontal distance. The supports and the basalt shelf they’re built atop are an additional 20 feet above the sandy slope. You are approaching from the southeast, crossing over the trench. Feel free to put your token anywhere in the red box.
