Gwen turns her attention to the creatures closer. She tugs at the scarf on her neck and her teeth look sharp and eyes hungry in the dancing firelight. "She can't come to your help anymore!" Lightning crackles out of her hand towards them.

Spiritual Armament vs. Sukho: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
possible slashing or spiritual damage: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Spiritual Armament:
Traditions: divine, occult
Range: 120 feet Target: 1 creature
Defense: AC Duration: sustained up to 1 minute
You create a ghostly, magical echo of one weapon you’re wielding or wearing and fling it. Attempt a spell attack roll against the target’s AC, dealing 2d8 damage on a hit (or double damage on a critical hit). The damage type is the same as the chosen weapon (or any of its types for a versatile weapon). The attack deals spirit damage instead if that would be more detrimental to the creature (as determined by the GM). This attack uses and contributes to your multiple attack penalty. After the attack, the weapon returns to your side. If you sanctify the spell, the attacks are sanctified as well.
Each time you Sustain the spell, you can repeat the attack against any creature within 120 feet.
Heightened (+2) The damage increases by 1d8.
Step 1-acttion; Spiritual Armament spell/attack 2-actions. As a funny aside, just noticed her name. Put a space after the first 3 letters. I'm sure that was unintentional.

Very small lightning bolts.
Shalosar unleashes a flurry of elemental chains against the drake. It drops from the sky.
Want to fluff two hits and a crit?
Jeeves accidentally swallows some of the spiders. Gross! Luckily, no penalty for the crit fail except more damage.
It does not stop him from smacking the changeling until she falls.
Maneki breathes a sigh of relief. Which is full of arachnids, unfortunately.
Combat over - and no need to worry about healing, though there's more to do.
As the result of the battle becomes clear, the travelers begin to bind the wounds of the man Suhko attacked. They begin to clean up the campsite, and the elder thanks the Pathfinders profusely and indicates that they will forever be in your debt. Once they are prepared, they head down the road to Niishan.
The Pathfinders find Whiirii face-down on the ground. Tsimann quickly notifies you that the syrinx simply fainted from the excitement and will be fine momentarily. You note that they fell in a way that their body was protecting Hatahasi, showing that even in weakness, they were determined to defend their charge.
The prairie drake that was accompanying Suhko approaches the group. It begins talking excitedly at you, though only Ahzeem and Maneki can make out what it is saying.

Ahzeem smiles and tells the drake in Draconic, then translates to the group, "The Goddess, Sarenrae, teaches up that all that seek redemption shall receive it. If you promise to be good I do not see any problem with you coming with us to the city. Assuming it is ok with my friends, of course,."
He then goes over to Sukho and starts to search for information/clues.

The spiked chains fly free of Shalosar’s wrists, twisting through the air as they home in on the drake. They slam into it, and the ends whip around from the impact, inflicting further wounds. With a choked cry, it tumbles out of the air, and crashes to the ground. The chains disintegrate, as the wounds on his wrists scar over.
He peers at Runt suspiciously. ”Strong friends, huh? Like who?”
| cmlobue |
With a memory of what Shalosar did to the shadow drake fresh in its mind, Runt tries to hop onto the kineticist's shoulder.
Gwendolyn Faran
|
"Oh, don't hurt it!" Gwen looks at Maneki. "Can you understand it?" She gently picks up the little drake.
"Maybe we ought to bring it back. It might know all sorts of things about what Aslynn wanted her to do." She looks down at Suhko's body, petting the drake.
| cmlobue |
You also have the opportunity to collect more samples for the Verdant Wheel. you have one unused cylinder, IIRC.
Runt hops over to the much more receptive shoulder of Gwen, who carries it into town. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Suhko confided much in the prairie drake, but it doesn't cause problems (other than seeming to be able to get dirty no matter the conditions) on the trip to town.
The group arrives at Niishan with Whiirii and the star gun in tow. Dawn light pours over the town, dripping from thatched rooftops and spilling into opening doorways as the residents begin their day. A halfling woman emerges from a nearby building to greet everyone with a shallow bow. When Whiirii bows deeply in return, Mayor Deyahi kisses them on both cheeks. Whiirii then hands Hatahasi to Mayor Deyahi, who accepts it into her grasp with the same care as a parent holding an infant.
“I’m pleased to see that you’ve completed the journey in one piece,” Mayor Deyahi says, “and that Hatahasi is healing well. Please, join me in my home. We have much to discuss.” She gestures for the group to follow her as she walks away.
The inside of Mayor Deyahi’s home is richly decorated in blue, black, and white. Ornate tapestries hang from the walls, depicting stories from legends. An assortment of cushions is arranged in a neat circle around a tiny fire, above which sits a pot of boiling water. Mayor Deyahi places Hatahasi on one cushion and sits on an adjacent cushion. She motions for everyone else to do the same, then adds a handful of dried leaves to the pot. The scent of fragrant tea begins to fill the room. “The Pathfinder Society has made the correct decision in returning Hatahasi to its home. It is heartening to see the Society’s members are trustworthy, and that you did not claim Hatahasi for your own goals or relinquish it to the hag.”
Mayor Deyahi smiles warmly and places her hand on Hatahasi, thumbing at the remnants of the Chelaxian brand. “Hatahasi is, as I’m sure you know, part of Niishan’s history. It’s a member of our family, and its return home is akin to the return of a long-lost relative. Since you have proven yourselves to be honest and reliable, the Society’s members are welcome in and around Niishan for the foreseeable future.”
I think there was one other thing you needed to do.
Maneki Pemanah

Maneki turns to Runt. "Would you be so kind as to provide us with some of your scales?"
As she has no diplomacy, she asks if Gwen can ask Runt
| cmlobue |

Whiirii has already agreed to work with the Society. Now you are working on establishing a lodge.
Ahzeem Kazzahd
|
"Mayor Deyahi, I am Ahzeem Kazzahd. It was our honor to escort the Hatahasi to it's home.", Ahzeem says, bowing deeply, "If I may, the Pathfinder Society would like to humbly request that we may be able to purchase a dwelling here in town to establish a lodge. This would allow us to further observe the Hatahasi's recovery and the goings on here in Niishan. Please do not think that our assistance was offered simply to use as a method of persuasion. It is not the Society way."

Gwen scratches Rust's head. "A Lodge would be a good idea. We were able to stop Suhko, but her momma might decide to come for Hatahasi herself. Pathfinders can help with any preparations should that happen, plus we'll be very interested in the Niishan customs around Hatahasi. Providing a place for a Lodge also means a senior Pathfinder to lead it and be a liaison to the town."
| cmlobue |
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The bad news is that you only get one check. The good news is, with aid from Gwen, plus bonuses for befriending Whiirii and saving all the travelers, Ahzeem still succeeds.
Both the syrinx and the travelers who came with you speak to the danger posed by the changeling and your heroics in saving them. Runt even pipes in with an enthusiastic endorsement, though the mayor does not understand it. Deyasi agrees to consider allowing a lodge to be built in Niishan.
The Pathfinders, Whiirii, and Tsimaan have collectively repatriated Hatahasi to its home in Niishan. Mayor Deyahi expresses her gratitude, particularly toward the agents; she names them as guests of honor in the feast that follows the return of Hatahasi. The celebrations last for days. Whiirii remains elusive but is occasionally seen at Mayor Deyahi’s side. Tsimaan mingles with the residents of Niishan, entertaining them with stories of her journeys throughout the continent. If she spots any of the Pathfinders, she calls out to them and extols their achievements during her time with them.
