Count-14

looks like I'm still up..
"I'm sorry, but we are currently discussing Starfinder Society business. Clearly, you can wait a little. These rocks aren't going anywhere soon.
Count-14 wanted to inform the first seeker of his findings but he is tied up, will try to calm thr professor down.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Rocks can wait... grmbl... harumph... the halfling says, and with a defiant stance turns around... and heads for the bar. Odesse is still looking king of lost.
For clarity: Everyone can act, not just Count-14
Count-14
|
Count-14 will go to the first seeker Ehu to report they findings about the dangerous rocks and to ask for medical help for Odesse who looks rather sick. "Sit tight, will be right back. I advise you not to return to your booth for now just to be safe."
Iron-59 Felicis
|
Rolling this after the halfling is calmed down or distracted. Got -1 on both Diplomacy, Bluff, and Intimidation.
"Good sir, I know you have the right intention, but the state of your mind seems to be... not stable, because of the alcohol you are drinking. Perhaps you should make yourself sober." Felix tries to communicate with the perhaps drunk professor.
Culture: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 (With this roll, it doesn't matter, anyway)
Kadef
|
Kadef takes his leave from Zovi, to go help the beleagured Ehu, but he sees that Felicis is already there. He stops for a moment to look around.
Then the halfling professor erupts. Kadef takes a step in that direction, but Count-14 defuses that situation.
Beneath his mask Kadef sighs. He hadn't intended to follow Volitare, it just wasn't socially graceful, but that seems like his most useful option.
He walks, it looks like gliding in his robes, to Jeletal.
"An unfortunate incident over there. I'm sure that Professor Hemford will regret it in the morning. I am happy to see a more professionally expressed scholarship here..."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 8 + (6) = 15

I will lend my +2 reroll from my Coin Award to Kadef :)
Mizzrym' tries to help Kadef calm down the halfing.
Listen to Kadef Professor, he's the voice of reason.

For a moment, it looks like Odesse it about to completely break down and run off, but that's when Kadef steps in and manages to calm her down.
With the air now cleared, the live slowly return to the floor, allowing the Starfinders another set of interactions.

After reporting back to Ehu about the dangerous rocks count-14 feels rather adventurous and will bodly go to Professor Muhali, the person no one has gone to before yet.
"Hello, I see you have some written things, maybe something mystery-related? What is the theme, please?
Isn't that supposed a Xeno thing? good luck to me..
| DM Kludde |
Count-14 and professor Muhali
You inquire Muhali speaks with meticulous precision about the nature of the link between these documents?
These are all items that originate from the Vast, showing the very different evolutions of languages on the many planets out there, and each species' own peculiarities give form to their tongue, so to say. To give an example, species that have a physical tongue tend to base their language on modulated contrictions of airflow, much as I am doing now. the professor says, then demonstrates 'p', 'b', 'k', 't' Other species lack such possibilities, so their speech is rather based on emissions of air, inflections of mucous membranes or without the medium of sound altogether, through telepathy.[/b]
These items showcase another aspect of language: transduction into written form! This is equally determined by the capabilities and possibiities each species possessed. Take the opposable thumb...
The professor sound like she could go on for another while, but leaves sufficient room for questions or remarks.
To impress Muhali, I need some knowledge of linguistics (Culture) or a perceptive mind to spot similarities within the showcased texts (Perception). Speaking different languages also helps.

Volitare and Jeletal
You are part of the Starfinder crew, if I am not mistaken? Jeletal remarks, I saw you busy setting up your display case. I am glad that you came to me, for you had me worried. You see, an item is just that, a piece of rock, a piece of clothing, atoms in a shape. Why do we display them here? Jeletal pauses, but proceeds to give the answer himself Because each of the items has a story to tell. Here I profess my faith, my devotion to Talavet the storyteller, and I would want other to see this as well. You had me worried that you would just be here to display geegaws from another culture without considering their relevance, their owners, their stories. I must admit that I judged you too hastily.
Ah, let me tell you a story then. Here.. he takes a cane-like object from the display case ... what does this look like to you?
This item was brought to me by a member of my congregation. When she was a young girl, she wanted to be a performer. This, my Starfinder friend, is a dancing stick, but to this woman, a memory of her first performance on stage. Can you not feel the anxiety, the anticipation? The relief when the applause comes? These are the stories these items are here to tell.

Felix rejoins the First Seeker Ehu to answer inquiries of more guests that joins him in their display. They impress them with the knowledge in piloting instead, hoping they find the topic interesting.
Piloting: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Or not.
| DM Kludde |
Muhali
Indeed Muhali says when Mizzrym makes his astute observations on the text, the aspiration mark does feature a lot in these text. The mark just signifies wind, but by itself that already implies breath. There are so many clues to be gained from these scrolls. We would like to think we know everything about our histories, but there is no much yet still to uncover. Even here, this very ground we stand on, holds many secrets below surface level. I hope to be able to fund new digs to find out more about the history of the city of Qabarat!
Muhali influence: success!

Ehu
Medbot and Felicis try to impress Ehu with their knowledge, but Medbot's suggestion that flu on Verces is seasonal ('just take an analgesic I and lie down for two weeks') and Felicis insights on how to best land on a Diaspora asteroid ('don't forget the parking brake') don't seem to do much to showcase their expertise.

Count-14

Perception (aid): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 This is a dice expression. Count-14 speak dwarf..
Count-14 appreciates the help "Thanks for the help nufriend, I mean drow friend, sorry, need to recalibrate.." While searching the Infosphere for clues they stumbled on a chatula-themed skittermander comic which caused them to manufacture a little and for sparks to fly, then they remembered the drill Sergent in SFS training shouting cooperate.. "OK, let's try to help nufriend permanent malfunction? with trying to discover patterns in the texts..
Hope didn't ruin anything, someone have recommendation for a not too long chatula themed book?
Kadef
|
Kadef disengages himself and returns to the Starfinder display. "You've a good team here, First Seeker. Well chosen that is. I believe their success here is largely a matter of leadership putting the right people in the right places with good preparation. "
He does not add 'for once'. He is a diplomat after all. Nor does he bring up the misgivings he felt early in this mission.
"You've been under a virtual siege here since the exhibition opened, sir. Why don't you take a break and let us man the booth for a while."
Diplomacy on Ehu: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 8 + (1) = 24
| DM Kludde |
Muhali looks a bit puzzled at Count-14 Would you friend need some recalibration? she asks Mizzrym.
Nothing ruined, don't worry. Simply no benefit from the aid another, since the check failed. Aid another is a low-risk (no penalties for failture), low-reward (giving +2 on another's roll) type of action.
Kadef, meanwhile, tries to impress Ehu and the crowd around him with his well-spoken words. Ehu responds the leader is empowered by those who support him, and I couldn't ask for better a team around me than you all!
Ehu: Success!
---
As Kadef interacts with the First Seeker, he is disturbed by a rude shove. When he looks around, he sees two rather wild ysoki toddlers playing about in a rowdy fashion. They run after each other, every now and then forming a furry ball of toddler doom. An exasperated ysoki grandmother leans on her walking stick, trying to get some discipline into the two toddlers Avelen! Thester! Come here immediately! This gallery is not for playing! You'll end up knocking something over!
The toddler's playful but destructive ambition seems to go a bit further than knocking something over. At this rate, they look to be on track to knock everything over. Already, a few statues are wobbling on their plinths, and it's only a matter of time before the first display case takes a hit.
Easy acrobatics, medium athletics or harder sleight of hand check to prevent damage. I need a check from every character, and half of you to pass for a success.

Count-14 enter stellar mode electricity only for flavor I guess and tries to help what he can "Can someone hold them please? wisdom come with older age"
acrobatics!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Kadef
|
Kadef has seen what Fitch's progeny are capable of on the Master of Stars. He moves to intercept the two youngsters. In the bulky looking robes, he seems to flow and the smoothness of his motion belies its speed. Two hands reach for unsteady specimens while a thrid thrusts his staff into the ysoki yout's path and his fourth reaches under his robes for his pulsecaster.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Iron-59 Felicis

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
"Careful..." they mutter but it is too late for them so they make their way to one of the statues wobbling in its place.
| DM Kludde |
Volitare seems to be caught by surprise, but everyone else is quick on their feet. The two don't even make it past Medbot, and Count-14, Mizzrym and, Felicis and Kadef quickly move to the wobbling vases and statues to prevent damage.
When the two rowdy kids are rounded up, the grandmother is pleased to have prevented disaster, Avelen, Thester, apologise to these nice men and women and promise you won't do it again. This place it not for running!
I'm sorry, we won't do it again. one of the kids speak politely, We won't do it again either the other says.
After the kids apologise, the grandmother reaches in her handbag, and gives the party a diplomat serum of enhancement to use
As soon as the kids are rounded up and the party turns around, a horde of reporters, with brightly flashing lights and steadily rolling camera very much ambush the group. This is Vitellus Korpopolis for Absalom Station News Network! We are here at the Grand Museum of Qabarat, where a gala opening is held. We are joined by agents from the Starfinder Society. Agents, what is the official statement of the Society on this exhibition?
While official statementing is still a bit above your pay grade, you can still give it a shot with a diplomacy check. Alternatively, you can impress the media with your knowledge by succeeding at a Culture, Life Science, or Physical Science, or an applicable Profession check. I need a check for each PC, and half of you must pass for a success.

There's only a brief respite to recover from the shock of being asked to appear on intergalactic news. Soon after, the familiar shape of the nelentu Minqalli, who is for some reason slinking around the exhibit, looking over their shoulder as if they are concerned about being spotted...
Kadef
|
We did promise Ayikesh to keep an eye on Minqali. He looks like he's broken something.
Kadef drifts toward the nelentu. "Minqali, where have you been? The rest of the team has been quite busy here."
| DM Kludde |
Eek! Minqalli lets out a little squeak when Kadef approaches them Don't tell anyone I am here they plead, Amyik banned me from the gala after I... eh... you know... you were there, I suppose. Please don't rat me out to her, I really wanted to see the gala...
Do you want to try and help Minqalli?
Count-14
|
Count-14 asks Kadef for a word "Kadef, do we have any information about Minqalli? He acts pretty suspicious, is he an Sfs agent? I will call security and you will keep an eye on him, ok?"
Count-14 if not inturrapted will look for Ayikesh from security then.
| DM Kludde |
Let's see what the rest of the group thinks...
MedBot 47

I'm getting a definite impression of Minqalli as CG and Amyik as LN... my sympathy is definitely with the CG climbing person
Medbot expresses that he wishes Minqalli to be able to enjoy the gala, whatever the security vesk thinks.
| DM Kludde |
If you want to help Minqalli get past security, I need both a Bluff and a Stealth check (you can aid another, I'll take the first check that doesn't say 'aid' as the main check
If, instead, you want to convince Amyikesh to let Minqalli in, I need a diplomacy, bluff or intimidate check (same rules as above)
Volitare Fugax

Volitare goes to try and convince Amyikesh to let Minqali back in. Their leaves are shaking a bit though. Vesk can be so big, scary, and intimidating.

Count-14

Count-14 will check the Infosphere in the meantime if there are records of Minqali as an SFS agent.
Need to roll something for that? Seems the logical thing to do, suggest sense Motive because I again get investigator vibes, if yes can I change the Infosphere integration Skill focus from perception to sense Motive?
| DM Kludde |
Count-14 sends a quick check on Minqalli, and almost immediately gets an affirmative that they are indeed full member of the Starfinder Society.
Amyikesh looks at Volitare and says Why are you trembling so much? Do you think I eat plants? Only meat! Amyik bears a grin of sharp teeth. Alright then, Minqalli can come in, but you have to vouch for them, and watch out they don't do anything stupid. I've got far too much on my hands with these reporter crews barging in and these ysoki kids, and this one drunk professor. And you! Amyik says to Minqalli No climbing! If I see you climb as much as a barstool, you're out!
She then walks off and grumbles I'm getting too old for this.
---
A single round of small bites and appetizers later, everyone gathers in the hall for another speech from Zovi. "My friends, it is people like you who--"
Zovi's speech is interrupted by smashing glass and gunfire. In the wreckage of the museum entrance stands a strike force of well-armed robbers. They rush into the lobby, knocking over displays, demanding valuables from the attendants, and pocketing any belongings they can get their hands on. Amyikesh grabs Zovi off the stage and rushes her deeper into the museum for safety.
“No sudden movements!” the leader of the gang shouts as he brandishes a gun. “We do this nice and orderly, and everyone goes home safe!”
Ehu is the first to move, slowly and deliberately approaching with four hands raised. “Easy. The people here are academics.” He begins moving to the side, drawing the attention attention of the leader. “They don't have whatever it is you're looking for, and even if they did, surely you could get it without this violence.”
With the robbers distracted, Radaszam turns to the other Starfinders and speaks in a hushed tone. “Ehu and I will take down their boss, you focus on these looters and make sure that these people make it out of here alive. On my signal.” He keeps his eyes on the mercenaries, calculating the best moment to strike. “Now."
At this, the room erupts into chaos. Ehu and Radaszam attack the leader of the robbers and the rest of the guests cower, rushing to the corners of the room or out into the street. A few of the guests, including Captain Alis Sandel and some security guards, draw weapons and leap into the fray.
