"They are fey, usually evil", Miriel tells her companions.
"Bring us the lorestone, peacefully, and we can part as friends. We are here to protect it, by any means necessary", she shouts to the enemies.
She pulls out a wand and touches her blade with it, while moving to the stone ring.

As she charges up her curve blade, Miriel recalls that spriggans are capable of changing size between Large and Small, and when in their smaller form they can strike distracted or flanked foes for additional damage. Malon advances, careful to keep Keynala between him and the visible foes.
Hera is the only one in position to see a small figure appear out of nowhere behind the central obelisk. It sprints towards Keynala, stabbing her as it goes by, and continuing past her and into the woods outside of the circle, where it's lost to sight. Its narrow blade scrapes off of her armor, though, doing no damage.

Question: If I take a ready action to attack, can I during the attack take a swift action, to smite? Swift actions can according to the rules be taken during another action, in combination of another action etc. I couldn't find a clear ruling for this, my local GM has allowed swift & free actions in combination with the readied action, but there might be table variance.
| DM Carbide |
Miriel, I see no reason you can't take a swift action along with a readied action.
Keynala can't get past the alert spriggan, but manages to dodge both its attack of opportunity and its held attack. She stabs it solidly, although its armor protects it from the worst of her strike.

The remaining spriggan takes a cut at Gwendolyn and misses completely, not even coming close enough to pop one of her duplicates.
As the spriggan falls, the quickling reappears, rushing in and stabbing at Gwendolyn. By great good fortune (for it), its blade pierces flesh instead of figment. Gwendolyn, take 3 HP and make a DC 15 Fort save or fall unconscious. Miriel's arrow goes well wide of the mark, and before anyone else can react the creature has retreated to the darkness.
