This. Is our. Ship. The captain says with Dramatic Intonation, You! You must. Leave!
Boris' taunt seems to shake the resolve of the captain. Celly fires a shot at the bear before the furry creature disappears behind the bulkhead.
Lufft starts the shootout with the captain, but his shot reverberates on the bulkhead, causing the whole ship to respond with a loud creaking.
Rattus hits the captain right on the nose, just before Rayva hits the dramatic leader in the chest with the right amount of oomph.

There are no ghosts, just real space scavengers. Lifft was alluding to the records you saw of the original crew of the ship, which presumably died some time ago.
Also, Rattus, you need line of sight to be able to shoot at the bear. You can shoot at the techie sneaking up on the back, though. I went ahead and redirected your shot.
Rattus takes a shot at the newcomer, just before Boris fires off his own, then moves away. Rattus just barely hits the techie, while Boris' shot richochets off the bulkhead.

The death sentence has been suspended until the new introductory notes are clarified. Who are you?
BorisWalrus
|
"Yes, hopefully this is just a huge misunderstanding. We ARE actually here looking for the crew of this ship, which none of you are.."
| DM Kludde |
Glad that his death sentence has been post-poned, the techie tries to plead a deal by offering some information We're here looking for the same thing as you. Some smuggler gave us these coordinates, saying there would be an ancient treasure on board. We didn't realize the place was so dangerous, our own ship is stranded in his awful debris field, and we're marooned on this ghost ship...
Some looking around in the starboard bay also reveals the log of Kandra, the strix science officer:
SCIENCE OFFICER’S LOG
We’ve activated the anti-boarding barriers. Unfortunately with the ship in the state it’s in, I doubt our systems will hold out much longer
There's some further notes in there from the final days, that talk about experiments in the medical bay (on the starboard side) and several small explosion resulting from these trials.
You have not searched B6 (engineering), B7 (crew quarters) or any of the shaded areas
Celly
|
Well, we were heading for the bridge anyway. Was going to check the Captain's Log.
She looks over to the techie. So your ship is hopefully still intact out there, you just can't get to it. Right?
| DM Kludde |
The techie responds with a sigh We couldn't avoid a bit chunk of debris, and it smashed right into our engines. We're marooned here until we repair it.
A massive slab of debris has crashed through the hull here. Black computer screens occupy each of the three crew stations, while large viewports light up the bridge with the aurora of the roiling planar chaos. A table surrounded by haphazard chairs stands on the starboard side.
| DM Kludde |
Searching the bridge, the group finds a datapad containing the captain's last log entries
CAPTAIN’S LOG
We have barricaded ourselves in the bridge, but I fear it is only a matter of time before we are overrun. The crew and I are prepared for our final stand. Despite its sad state, the Amber Reconnoiter is still our ship—we will not give in
